Weekend Stay”

My partner and I stayed at the Carrington Place for two nights and found the place wonderful, the only problem for us was that we stayed on nights that the bar and restaurant weren't open. Check in was slightly confusing only due to there being no reception on these days, but the women whom we called to check us in was super helpful and friendly, so no complaints! It was great and we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great service & very clean modern room!”

I travel a lot for work and was pleasantly surprised with Carrington Place. It is very clean, has modern rooms and amazing service. The only negative I would say is the food from the bar & restaurant downstairs is over priced. Good quality food, but just a bit over priced. Over all a really wonderful stay!

Quick overnight stay”

We needed accommodation for one night that was economical as we would be arriving late and checking out at 4.30 a.m. Carrington Place is well presented, clean and rooms are recently painted. The staff were excellent and very kind and helpful. It is a pub stay and has shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. There is a restaurant downstairs and a small corner store across the road. Would stay there again if in the area.

Enjoyable stay”

Very enjoyable short stay. Comfortable well appointed room. Air conditioner struggled a little to keep up with a very hot day and a west facing room. Shared bathroom in a 1920s hotel was a novel twist. No problem encountered. A step back in time in an area only now being re-discovered as a desirable place to live. Some wonderful old turn-of-the-century buildings found during a pleasant walk around the neighborhood.

In Terms of location, its not in the best parts of Newcastle. But the pub that its in has a very nice restaurant, I just booked to stay because of the restaurant to be honest. But they only have one room with its own private bathroom. The Shared bathroom is not ideal. Also one other strange feature the power points are really low to the ground on the skirting board, so if you have a standard iPhone charger it wont be able to plug in. I was glad I had taken my laptop or we would not have been able to charge our phones in the hotel. I would suggest having a USB charging dock or similar available for guests.

Good nights sleep”

Really enjoyed my stay, shower was a bit of a challenge, would jump from hot to cold and back again, no big deal, makes life a bit more interesting.

Great pub, decent accommodation”

I think it's a little steep for what what is. Queen sized bed with a shared bathroom. Having said that, the bathroom was really clean. Staff were still friendly, and the pub the the is inside was genuinely a great pub. Overall,very good, but perhaps a little over priced. Though I have to admit--I couldn't find much cheaper at such short notice.

Brief overnight stay”

Arrived from airport late, got excellent directions from the staff via phone to use keypad entry etc. Rooms very comfortable, shared bathroom fine, shower is turbocharged - wonderful! Two great cafes to have breakfast just a few minuted walk, easy access to airport - inexpensive would recommend.

Short stay”

Attended a wedding not far from this hotel. Great staff. One recommendation would be to continue serving breakfast beyond 9am. Up until at least 10:30 would be suggested.

Very good”

Lovely lady short blonde hair helped us check in and was extremely kind towards us ! We were late and past time to order food but she went out of her way to ensure we were still able to order a pizza down stairs in the bar. Shared bathroom across the hall however didn’t bother us as the room was cheap :)

Stay at a pub and get a pub room. Simplistic.

This is an old style hotel that has been upgraded - be prepared to share bathroom, toilet and kitchen etc but fine if that is acceptable. It is not a motel but a fiendly up market pub !

Undiscovered gem”

Fantastic, restful, and very engaging staff. Food great. Great position. Loved it!

Newcastle Visit”

Clean, comfortable room & facilities with great staff. But the bar prices along with wine & food prices were too expensive for a pub !

Very friendly and helpful staff”

Very nice experience. We walked to civic in the morning everyday. It takes around 25min, but very enjoyable walk along the seaside.
