Pleasant Surprise”
Casa Amapola Bed and Breakfast was a pleasant surprise from the normal Manila hotels. It as a neighborhood feel inside a gated community. There was non of the hustle and bustle found on other regular overnights. The staff was delightful and accommodated me on my late night arrival. The breakfast was delicious and they were very attentive. The room was far nicer than a traditional hotel at the same price point.

A home away from home”
Casa Amapola is a home for travellers who wants to enjoy a quiet morning as well as evening after a busy day. Located in Makati City, the heart of Philippine business, it is few minutes away by taxi from Ayala Avenue, the banking and business nerve centre of Makati. The Rockwell, a residential and business community with a mall and many good restaurants is within walking distance. Casa Amapola's owner, Ogie Mendoza, and staff are warm and friendly people. The breakfast that was included in the package was ala carte and sumptuous. Since it is a bed and breakfast facility, it is not a place for you to invite your business clients for meeting. But for others, say journalists, writers, etc., it is an ideal place to sit all day and bang away on the computer as I did.

Quiet and Unique”
My boyfriend and I stayed at Casa Amapola for just one night, and it was perfect for what we needed. We used it for relaxing before going to the nearby mall for the evening, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We also enjoyed how Casa Amapola was decorated with all the tango photos and artwork. The next morning, we had a lovely breakfast of our choice brought to us at the time of our choice.

Bed and Breakfast with nice rooms”
We stayed here 2 nights at the start and 1 night at the end of our trip through the Philippines. Rooms are beautifully decorated, have a good bed, tv and airco. Wifi reception in the was poor. Location is good if you need to be around the Makati area. Taxi ride to downtown Manila is cheap, but can take a while depending on traffic. The B&B is located in a residential area which is not really interesting, but it is safe and quiet - something you will probable appreciate after a day in downtown Manila. The Rockwell Powerplant shopping mall is a 5 minute walk away, where you find a number of good (high-end) restaurants; our favorite there is Mamou. Contact with staff was minimal. They showed us our room, asked our breakfast preferences and set up breakfast in our room at the requested time. They were not talkative; did not ask about our trip/day or offer advice on where to go. We did meet the owner one day who is an interesting guy and has lots of stories to share. If I would go back to Manila I would definitely stay here again. Note however that if you are clueless on what to do / where to go / how to get there, you might want to consider a place more oriented towards tourists.

Lovely hotel with a gracious owner”
The area around the hotel is quiet. It is near an upscale mall with good shopping area and restaurants. Security is good. The bed is comfortable and the room is nicely decorated. Breakfast is good. I recommend this hotel for honeymooners or just getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Lovely bed and breakfast with many ++ but a - too”
vida mia room receives very little day light, so if you are just sleeping over then it is comfortable but bare in mind that it is right next to the kitchen where the cook starts making breakfast around 8am, if the phone, that starts ringing at the reception as early as 7am, doesn't wake you up before that. the other rooms though, the ones on the first floor, are amazing - very spacious and with a lot of day light. the owner was kind enough to allow me to move into one of them and i was absolutely enchanted by the tango atmosphere there. details that decorate the whole house, even the restrooms, are simply to wish for! you can feel the love that went into it! the advertised high speed internet in each room is non existing. since the house is surrounded by a lot of trees there is a lot of mosquitoes everywhere so make sure you have plenty of repellent. at times there is a strong odor from the sewage coming from outside so some menthol might be helpful. but all that is topped up by the fact that in the heart of bustling business center of manila you are woken up by chirping birds and instead of going to the gym for a workout your lovely host ogie can sign you up for a tango lesson!

Deligthful guesthouse with superb host”
The room is small but I didn't mind it because it really is just a place for me to store my bags. The host is very helpful in accommodating requests like having late breakfasts and organizing an out of town last minute trip. The host is communicative and it was a smooth deal all through out my stay.

Value for Money”
The property was an old house turned into a Boutique Bed and Breakfast. Rooms were spacious. Bathroom clean. Pillows soft and fluffy. Breakfast was delicious and home cooked. Downside was the location which was in a residential suburbs and public transportation was scarce

Worth It”
The place is good. The location is near to my conference venue so I didn't worry about the heavy traffic. The free breakfast is delicious and well presented. I like the server because she is so thoughtful. Keep up the good work Ate. God bless to all of you. 😊😊😊

Different”
Not for someone who likes a hotel room to be a blank canvas. Our room was unique, with hats on the wall, tango themed pictures, and knick-knacks galore. We felt welcome - even arriving back late evening.

The kind of place is not for me but it doesn't mean you won't like it...?”
It's hard to review the place. On the one hand, I like supporting small businesses and mom&pop shops on the other hand, you'd have to be honest in your review. For one thing, seeing the place is like going on a Tinder date expecting to meet the person you saw on the pictures but was surprisingly disappointed with what you met in person. From the site, you'd get a feel that this was an old house that was converted into a hotel. No. This is a house. With people living it in. And that's exactly the vibe you're going to get. Like you're invading somebody else's home. Location is great. It's easy to get to even if you're on public commute. Plus it's just a few minutes walk to the Rockwell Mall. The king size bed was actually a two single beds pushed together. It wasn't really a big deal though the beds part when you lie down the middle. And word of warning, don't use the sofa chair. It has a big disgusting sweat stain that they've covered with a white cloth instead of cleaning.
