Home away from home! ”
This review is long overdue! We stayed for 8 wonderful nights in Pagudpud at Casa Consuelo. Not only were the surroundings incredibly pristine and beautiful, the staff went out of their way to accomodate us and we felt so at ease and comfortable, just like at home. We travelled to a few places in the Philippines and this resort exceeded all expectations. The rooms are clean and designed In the Ilocos Norte style, and the food is incredible. It felt like we were dining In their family home, a wonderful experience. Chad's hand drawn maps and the family's travel advise made the journey very special. And how could we forget our daily walks with our new doggy pal Harlow, the resorts mascot! . This place is for those that want to get lost, relax and discover.
Meeting to Exceeding Expectation”
Value for Money. Casa Consuelo Resort is a bit pricey compared to other resorts/hotel/apartment/transient house. But the place is worth the price. We even had upgrade during our visit. Thanks for the generosity of the owner and somehow thanks to the fair weather because they only had few guests. Location. If you want a secluded and very private space by the ocean, you would have to be patient in reaching Casa Consuelo. It is actually the last resort in Blue Lagoon's stretch where Dos Hermanos Island is situated. Just be careful on the way because the road conditions are still in progress. So like the photos, it's true that there are rock formations near the shore and it would really be too bad to miss a photo for IG. Also, if only we had the time, there are many activities to choose from like, snorkeling, surfing, hiking, etc. Cleanliness. We had no question with the cleanliness. It actually exceeded our expectation especially inside the comfort room. Around the place, you’ll see how upkeeps are done like no signs of dusts and litter in the pavilion, hammocks are all good, visible staff wiping off the windows etc. Staff. The staff were all attentive and smiling. Facilities. The infinity pool and hammocks made our experience very satisfying. The landscapes, architecture and interiors were so homey. Parking is spacious! We wish for an improvement of the lighting inside the room. Other than that, I'm excited to return there for a longer time during a better season. :)
First time in Ilocos Norte / Padugpud”
This was our first time in Ilocos Norte. We spent three nights at the resort. The accommodation and the service were all outstanding, The food was great and all staff was very friendly. Chad, the person in charge was very helpful and he helped us to organize our outings around the region and gave us very useful tips and advice. We can only recommend Casa Consuelo Resort to all who plan a trip to Ilocos Norte. There are nice beaches close to the resort as well therefore you do not miss out on the beach experience just because Ilocos Norte is north of Manila.
Great Hotel with nice staffs & fantastic sea view”
Stayed for 3Nights from June 8th June to 11th June Took a trike from Pagudpud city & the ride takes about 30mins to Casa Consuelo. You will be required to pay a toll fee to enter the premises of Blue Lagoon. Cost per head is 20 Peso for adults. Upon arriving at Casa Consuelo i was blown away with the views. I could see the huts that i was staying & the beautiful surrounding minus the construction. Check in the room & was very impressed with the interior room Design. I would have to say it was very modern & the aircon was good enough to keep the room cold thru out Sunny Day. From the owner to its staffs they were super friendly & always greeting with a smile. Wifi in the signal wasnt too bad thru out its premises & by 2200hrs the resort restaurant will be closed. I had all my meals daily at Casa Consuelo at the little private eating hut that was just beside its restaurant. Do note that it’s better to pre order you meals rather than upon dining. Highly recommended food that i ate there. Pancakes Toast Break = Cooked with Soaked with Honey or Maple Syrup & egg. Gamet = Omelette with Seaweed. Poqui Poqui = Egg Plant with spices BBQ Fish = Get the resort to recommend the fish Kinilaw = Raw fish salad mixed with vinegar, onion, ginger, calamansi BBQ Squid With stuffing Seafood Platter = Local crabs, Fish, Squid, Shrimps & Lobster All BBQ with Garlic Butter
Edge of Pagudpud's white beach for a more quiet stay”
We spent the 2nd night of our Ilocos road trip here. I was last in Pagudpud some 20 years ago and there was no sort of development yet at that time. Resorts were not allowed to be built on Maira-ira Beach. Fast-forward to today and development seems to have gotten the better of this place. We drove through kitschy resorts and crowded beach fronts and were prepared for the worst. Luckily, Casa Consuelo was at the edge of all this madness (still walking distance from the famed white beach, if that madness is what you prefer), and though the beach front was coral-ly and not sandy, it was a little slice of paradise. We were met personally by the owner (he and his family are very hands-on), who explained that they were situated beside the protected area so snorkeling was very good there. They also had a pool. However, it was too cold for us to swim. We were happy just taking photos in the beachfront. We had a marvelous assorted seafood dinner and everything was very fresh, a wonderful change from all the bagnet and other pork dishes Ilocos has to offer. It was a relaxing and rejuvenating stay for all of us.
Pagudpud Family Get away”
Casa Consuelo is the best lace to stay in Pagudpud. It's quiet and customer service is excellent. Richard and Jojo who are running this place are very helpful. They make you feel like you are home away from home. They will do everything to make you feel comfortable and ensure that your stay in Pagudpud and Ilocos by giving you directions and suggestions of places to go to.. Richard even printed us maps and gave instructions to the driver. We stayed in the family suite and each one had their own bed. Their staff are well trained with excellent customer service. Coming from the states , I felt like a queen when someone comes running to insist on carrying your bags or follow you with an umbrella. It felt weird at first but I realized that it is their welcoming and courteous gestures. You can walk few steps from your cottage and you are walking at the beach. Don't forget tto bring your snorkel goggles to enjoy the white clear water with beautiful fishes. Snorkeling is the best thing you can do here because of the corrals. There's alittle space for swimming but if you walk further to the congested Hannah's side, then you can more area for swimming. There's a lot of good things to say about this place. We definitely had a blast.
Our home away from home!”
This is the third time we have stayed at Casa Consuelo, but the first time we have been able to enjoy the newly acquired pool and expanded clubhouse. Beautiful! Chad the owner was his usual welcoming self and catered to all of our wants and desires. A delicious breakfast is included with the room, and his menu for lunch and dinner has quite a variety of excellent foods at a very reasonable cost. We love to snorkle so Casa Consuelo is perfect for us as the ocean is just a few steps away with a reef full of fish. We love the area as it is away from the hustle and bustle of the other resorts down the small road, but yet is so clean and comfortable, with good wifi, We will definitely be back for a fourth visit, and that is saying a lot, because we live in the USA, go to Manila to visit family, and have to travel quite far to stay at Casa Consuelo. But it is worth it.
Paradise in Pagudpud. We stayed in this resort only for one night and that’smy regret .”
Place is like Paradise , it’s suited away from crowd to chill and relax. The owner Sir Richard and staffs were very accommodating and helpful. Thanks to Venus, Chad, Glen and all of the staffs in Casa Consuelo who were very helpful to make our stay so memorable. I really like the set up they made on our lunch, dinner and breakfast. Even we took our breakfast late . The food is really great especially the seafoods platter my sons enjoyed it sooo much. It’s fresh seafoods mixture of lobster, crabs , shrimps and with a vegetable suitable for the menu. Me and my sons enjoyed our stay here in Casa Consuelo surely we will go back to this place next time will visit Pagudpud. I will recommend Casa Consuelo to my friends and relatives. Lastly thank you sooo much Sir Richard.
Great Family Run Establishement”
On the farthest end of Pagudpud, this resort is perfect if you want some quiet time! The beach fronting the hotel is a rocky reef perfect for snorkelling but if your want fine sand and swimming - you're just a short walk away from the public beach. What we loved was the fact that the place is family owned and run and the staff was extremely warm and courteous! At first glance the menu may seem limited but just ask about the daily specials which include various fish and shellfish always fresh and extremely affordable! We loved our stay at Casa Consuelo!
Paradise in pagudpud”
This place is really a paradise for us. You wouldn't think that there is such a place at pagudpud. Casa consuelo is a very relaxing place to stay while in pagudpud. Staff are all accomodating especially Richard and regine they really look after us while we were there. And kudos also to La Cocina Restaurant for their delicious food, my grandparents and parents loves their food. We we'll recommend this place to our friends and relatives. Thank you Casa Consuelo! Till next time..😁, my daughter loves your infinity pool anyway! Hahaha..
If you want some privacy, Casa Consuelo is perfect”
If you're looking for a spot in a beach where there are lots of people and a lively nightlife, Casa Consuelo is not for you. Casa Consuelo is situated on the end of blue lagoo, just across the Dos Hermanos islets and away from the crowded area of Blue Lagoon. They have a very modest room and a fantastic staff. Food was Ok at its price, the only gripe is that they ran out of seafood platter to serve us after we ordered two in succession..lol As mentioned, if you are the type of person who enjoys his privacy in a quiet place near the beach, this is the perfect place in Pagudpud.
Casa Consuelo Review”
This is arguably the best resort/ hotel in Pagudpud if you are looking for relaxing place. Going to Casa Consuelo, you will pass by the resorts of Hannah's, Vista, Agua Seda (etc.) and we observed how crowded these resorts are (more like a market). However, when we came to Casa Consuelo, we immediately noticed how quiet the place is. I also saw other guests just hanging out of their rooms, a woman was still sleeping in a hammock inside a small cottage. The place was just peaceful. In front of the hotel was the Dos Hermanos island which you can go to by walking during low tide. Casa Consuelo's location is best for snorkeling(unfortunately we were not able to do this due to our short stay). All in all, the view was great, the place was great (even the food was great). We will definitely come back here and recommend this hotel to other travelers.
a true hidden treasure”
While on the way to Casa Consuelo, we got slightly worried as to the obscurity of the place. Tucked away at the end of a dirt track, this place proved to be a true hidden gem. With epic views of the beach and coastline, warm service from the heart by Chad and his team, and a sick poolside, this is in my opinion an excellent place for a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle. I would like to add that food prices in the beach resort are slightly above the average food prices in Iloscos Norte as there isn't much food options around the resort. However the local food served at the resort is nice!
Stayed with Family”
among the 3 hotels/inns we stayed in ilocos casa consuelo was our favorite the staffs were very attentive to our needs, food was not too pricey and the room we stayed in was very comfortable. They let us check in early which was a plus point considering that we drove for almost 12 hours to reach Pagudpud. Kudos to Richard and his team. It was such a shame that we had a lousy weather during our stay it would have been perfect.
Quick trip to Pagudpud for a weekend”
We booked Casa Consuelo for our first night in Pagudpud. Casa Consuelo was at the end of the town (Balaoi) some call the place Blue Lagoon. The beach front was hard corals stones and not meant for swimming, although they have a small pool. The white beach (public) is a bit far, which is in front of the huge Hannah's Resort. Anyway, we were not able to swim due to the very strong waves, very cold weather (21-22 degC) and rain drizzles the whole day. The weather was really meant for a relaxation time at the cabanas and in the room with a few bottles of beer, not much activities due to the very cold weather. Had sumptuous dinner of grilled lobster, local crabs, shrimps, fish and of course the local bagnet and pinakbet. Service was good and price is very reasonable. Room and amenities are good and clean. Not meant for kids swimming due to sharp corals. Can't swim because of the HUGE waves, but they said that's not normal and the cold weather lasts until Feb. Summer is the best time.
Staff made the difference”
I have been to several resorts in the past with equally or even better amenities and facilities but the warmth of Casa Consuelo staff (especially Venus) is just so heartwarming. She's always polite and serves with a smile. That's what made them the best with all the resorts and accommodations I've been to in the past. Their swimming pool is so lovely, it is small but charming. It has warm water and my 2 year old daughter had so much fun in the pool. Their lounge is also so relaxing, designed with native adornments. Room exudes a local feel with their bed covers, blanket and pillow covers made of inabel/abel cloth. I really love businesses that supports local industry. The room smells good and lighting is perfect. The only thing I wish that could have been better is the shower head. I'm not sure if it's the water pressure or the showerhead itself that's the problem, water coming out is in trickles and would take forever to have a shower so used the pale and dipper instead which means I have to give my daughter a bath with cold water coming from the faucet on the night we arrived. It was raining that night and is cold. The following day, it was not a big deal as water coming out of the faucet is warm as it's very hot outside. The bathroom toilet was also not cleaned enough. The place is also lovely, very serene and relaxing. The beach itself is not suitable for swimming as it is rocky but our expectation was set during the brief orientation when we checked in. Their infinity pool made up for this and the sandy part of the beach (blue lagoon) perfect for swimming is just a 2 minute tricycle ride away, we paid Php15 each when we went there. Food is home cooked and reasonably priced considering that they are a beach front location. It was nothing to die for but the fruit shakes are really refreshing and delicious. Overall, Casa Consuelo is a beautiful little place perfect for relaxing. I would love to go back in this place.
Natural unlike others.”
IMHO, it's the best place to stay at when you're at the Blue Lagoon part of Pagudpud. Other places are to "artificial" already. We chose Casa consuelo because of it's location and scenery especially that the picturesque Dos Hermanos islets. Too bad it's too cloudy during the sunrise when we were there. We were able to climb the hill near the resort and got a the best view of Dos Hermanos and the rest of Maira-ira. I cannot rate the food fairly as we were not able to taste much of their La Cocina outside of the included breakfast. Thank you Richard and to your family. It was a short stay, your place will definitely be the chosen one whenever we get back to Pagudpud.
Great Place for relaxation”
if you're looking for a quiet and serene place where you can relax and appreciate the nature, Casa Consuelo is the perfect place. though there is no beach front where you can swim instantly, you may opt to walk 18 minutes to get to the beach swimming area. though the place may seem far, i still rated 5 for the location because the place is far from noise, which my family loved. the place is clean, staffs are friendly. we came earlier than the check in time, but they allowed us to stay in the common area near the pool and allowed us also to swim. when they finished cleaning the room we'll be staying, we checked in at 1 pm, which is again earlier than the original check in time. I'm sure to go back to this place the next time I'll visit pagudpud. 😊
Casa Consuelo is why I would return to Pagudpud”
Casa Consuelo surprised me because of the extremely friendly and helpful staff. They will make sure that you have anything you need to make your stay more enjoyable and memorable. For amenities, the infinity pool was heated and their garden was well maintained. The ambience here is perfect for anyone looking to get away from the busy city life. I highly recommend booking a tour with them. Our host was very knowledgeable of the city and knew the best spots to bring us for adventures or pictures. The tour costs around 70USD and is taken in the resort's van. I don't usually write reviews but the resort staff were so hospitable that I wanted to share it with everyone. Enjoy your stay here!
Exceptional”
If you want some peace and quiet and to be away from the rest of the world - Casa Consuelo is the place to be. The resort owners and staff are extremely pleasant and will surely take care of your needs. The place offers the best view of the sunrise and the rooms are just appropriate in size although I find them dark despite the lighting and makes it a tad bit difficult to pack. Food price is reasonable but noticeably caters to foreign taste as their food is kinda bland - would need additional seasoning at all times. It's far from the rest of the tourist destinations, which can work to your advantage if you really want some respite and time alone.
