The casa montemar express is quite nice, close to everything. the place is clean and suitable for everyone with many choices, Internet except for the peack hours working much better than others hotels. u can find here nice tours and rent a motorbike for one of the best prices around.

Nice clean room”
Room and staff were great but toliet facilities were poor. 3 out of 5 cubicles were marked as temporarily out of service for the 5 days we stayed there. Short walk to town. Can be noisy from the street.

Ate Nini( staff) was really helpful. She provides and helps us with out travel and room service. If you're travelling, we recommend the aircon room which is a ton better than the fan room. The bathroom is ok but the water pressure is pretty weak. The outside of the place might look weird but the aircon room is okay and home-y.

near neighborhood locals”
the location is near local houses quite busy on daytime. the room is satisfactory. most of the time, no staff in the front desk. when you book in agoda, it cost like 400 pesos, but when you asked the staff in-charge it cost 600.. i'm not sure why the price is inconsistent and has too much difference. for solo travelers only and travelers who are not choosy

Worst stay ever ”
We are in our 5th month of travelling Southeast Asia on a back packers budget and is by far the worst “hotel” we have stayed in. First of all, the tuk tuk took us to the original casa montemar, but after trying to check in he explained we are actually staying in the casa montemar express ( false advertising as it isn’t on the photos you see on agoda! ) which is just out of town. The road/ally it’s located on is disgusting, very loud, full of locals. Full of barking dogs and cockerels, which make a lot of noise ALL night long. We had about 2 hours sleep both nights because of this. The room itself is very dirty, the bed linen was definitely not clean on arrival, there is a panel missing in the window so you can hear absolutely everything 24/7. The shared bathroom is absolutely disgraceful as well, no toilet seats, dog poo on the floor in the men’s toilet, the same bit of tissue on the floor from the day we arrived to the day we left so the cleaners are non existent which you can tell by looking at the sink. The showers are powerful but filthy. Full of ants. The whole place is filthy, AVOID THIS HOTEL!!! No bins in the room, only on the communal area, which again they weren’t emptied the whole time we stayed. I don’t know how they can class this as a hotel. Awful ( and we have stayed in some bad places! )

Exceptional”
We feel like we're at home. Our room has its own CR and it's clean. The in-charge (Shiela) is friendly and helped us with her tips. They have utensils and we can cook if we want. Overall, we're very happy and contented of the price we paid. We would surely recommend Casa Montemar Express to our friends who will be visiting Coron in the future. Thank you!

Great place but not accurate location”
Firstly, there are 2 hotels called casa montimar, one is a B&B air con place and the 2nd which is this one - the casa montimar express. if u get a tricicle make sure they take you to the correct one! Maps.me didnt have this hotel on their map but google and agoda map was more accurate. the sign outside of this place wasnt visable the sun has faded the name off almost completely but if it helps, the outside of the hostel has a white wall and then the 'Gates' are made of ply wood. the sign for the hotel is like a long plastic sheet that did have a printing on it but again, its faded. its on a quiet side street that u have to turn left down hill if your walking from the pier which is about a 30 - 45 min walk from the pier .. We arrived at 2am and i had made the reservation for the night before but our boat was 8hrs late and took 32 hrs from manila so we missed check in, the staff allowed us to spend the night in another room and recheck in again for the nxt night! which was amazing as we were sea sick and exhausted! Very clean and staff very helpful.. beds very comfortable, unfortunatly there are a few roosters around so take earplugs! lol but wifi was good later on in the evening when most people were in bed, in day time hours everyone is logged on and its slow but hey, thats the philippines.. id stay again if we came bk to coron!

Cozy little place”
Montemar Express is a cozy little place, where you get what you pay for. But also a little extra. Shella, the receptionist, is an absolute sweetheart and very helpful. You also have access to the swimming pool in their sister hotel. The showers work but if you have an afro or just a lot of hair you might spend quiet some time washing out the shampoo. If you have difficulties sleeping in a hot room go for air con. The fans work well, but just can't compete against the heat. But that goes for everywhere.

Fine for a short stay”
Okay place for a short stay. Annoyingly doesn't have the name of the hostel anywhere outside so if, like us, you get an overnight ferry to Coron and arrive at 4/5am in the dark, you'll struggle to pinpoint it. Note there's a 'Casa Montemar' and a 'Casa Montemar Express'. They also messed us about with our island hopping tour by supposedly booking us on to it the day before, only to tell us 10 minutes after the bus was supposed to pick us up that it was fully booked. We got put on an alternative impromptu 'tour' which was led seemingly by a friend and didn't do everything the original tour was supposed to. We spoke to other people staying there who told us the hostel also ballsed up their boat ticket to El Nido. Long story short, okay and cheap for a few nights, but if you do stay don't arrange anything through the hostel.

Staff is golden but the place has bedbugs”
We booked here three nights, prices in Coron are overpriced compared to other islands (and countries in the area), so we decided to go for a cheap option like Casa Montemar. The rooms are simple but enough, a small fan, lights and about 3x3. Bathroom and shower are shared and are convenient, no issue with that. The staff (Shella especially) are nice ladies that do their best to keep the place, they do clean all the time and will help you with anything they can BUT. Our first night we had a room with bedbugs (we caught one) and they did not seem to know what they were (they said small cockroaches, they were kind enough to give us an upgraded room for that night and then moved us to another cheap room from the second night on. The AC room did not have bedbugs so we thought was a single room issue, sadly, next day we were moved to another room and sleep 4 hours. It turns out I'm also super allergic to the bites so was not a fun night. We had to leave even we paid for the full stay.

Good for the Money”
Don't expect a whole lot from this place, but that's how most places are on Coron. The bathrooms are basically outside so expect a LOT of mosquitoes and other visitors. The place is on a fairly busy side street and the walls are made of straw/bamboo so you can hear everything early in the morning. Outside that, the place is nice, staff is helpful and friendly and always on site, and the WiFi is decent for Coron standards.

The location of the place is a bit far from the town proper but if you love to walk for about 300M to 500M, the place is right for you. The staffs of the transient are very accommodating that made my stay amazing.

Casa Montemar Express ”
Lovely staff but unfortunately wouldn’t stay here a second night. Although the room was spacious, had an ensuite and offered both a fan and air conditioning, there were many downsides. The room was dark and sparse so there was nowhere to really put your things. There wasn’t a proper window, only glass shutters, so we heard everything from the neighbourhood throughout the night. There was only cold water and no sink in the tiny bathroom, meaning you basically had to shower every time you wanted to wash your hands or brush your teeth! For the price, we found a cheaper room elsewhere which was perfect for us. Then place didn’t have a good feel to it. It’s a shame as it looked so promising from the outside, think it’s in need of some renovations as it could be lovely!
