helpful, amenable staff, unique well appointed rooms, near to unp.

we went to vigan to enroll our daughter. casa rica hotel was conveniently located just a fifteen minute walk away. we arrived before check-in time and the helpful staff stored our luggage whilst we went to the university and then had our lunch at nearby cafe uno we returned and checked in and really were impressed with the pleasant rooms. the casa rica is an old home, converted into a 10 room inn. the next morning we enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast of local fresh ingredients. i would highly recommend the casa rica for its location, charm and value.

            Rainy vacation? No problem!”

We arrived in Casa Rica two hours earlier before our expected time-in, though they were quite strict about the check-in time, they still accommodate our request to leave our baggage while we'll stroll around to look for a place to grab our lunch. When we get back, our room is already prepared and so as our luggage are already inside our room. Good job for that! The room is just right for a couple to stay to. Bed is big enough for us (were actually big in size but we fit in). Staffs and even the owner were really friendly. They do not allow smoking inside the room but you can smoke outside the hotel. Hotel location is perfect! Not too far from Calle Crisologo (the main place to visit when you're in Vigan) and if you're not a lazy person, going to the Plaza is just a 15 minutes walk as well. Although our vacation is already in a rainy season, it's not a problem. Since the hotel is really near the attractions and along the road where you can easily grab a tricycle.

            Great place for historical/cultural sightseeing.”

Traditional architecture, clean rooms, very low price.

Casa Rica is a nice place to stay if you want to explore the history and culture around Vigan. The rooms are simple, but they are clean and everything that you might need is provided. It's not right on Crisologo street, but it is still very close and easy to get to. About a minute away by hired tricycle. The staff is flexible, friendly, and of course willing to help you get around town. We had a blast, and had absolutely no problems. Also, most of the things to do in Vigan seem to be day time activities. I can't comment on night time safety in Vigan, but during the day you should have no worries. We felt comfortable there and most of the locals are very friendly.

            Location”

Casa Rica is a small hotel in a lovely restored Spanish house, in the historical part of the city. The hotel is basic but clean, comfortable. The WiFi worked well in our room. I must add that the staff were very friendly and helpful. My Filipino companion said that the (Filipino only) breakfast was very small and limited, but we found 2 nice cafes very close to hotel. Vigan is small and it is easy and safe to walk around, the great thing about the hotel is its location, about 5 minutes to start of the Casaloga Street tourist area. Do ask the hotel for their tourist map; the odd thing is that the map does not mention the old Bantry Belfry watchtower, adjacent Church and ruined chapel which is very close by, only a 10 minutes ride away by tricycle and well worth visiting for the views from the top of the watchtower. The tricycle flat fare is P15 per person. I would recommend staying at the Hotel Casa Rica.

            Al in all quite good!”

Casa Rica is a very basic hotel, very inexpensive, and quite comfortable. With a bit more attention to detail, it could be great! I liked the LOCATION very much. It's not in the thick of it, but if you walk (only 15 minutes at a leisurely pace) on one of the two minor streets into the historic center, you will get to know some interesting, quiet areas. (The two main roads are very noisy.) If you are friendly and you stop to say hello along the way, people will enjoy chatting with you! The hotel was very CLEAN, the hot water and shower were great, but the towel rack in the bathroom was broken; if anyone was paying attention it could be easily fixed. The STAFF was helpful and friendly. A downside: breakfasts! The fried eggs were always stone cold, the coffee was instant, and there was never fruit! I walked to the city market and bought mangoes (very delicious and cheap) and the staff cut them up for me for breakfast. Mosquitoes were a bit of a problem - I think they got in via the bathroom exhaust fan, again, easily fixed, and there were not too may of them. Once the aircon goes on, they disappear. No matter where you go in Vigan, carry repellent! They were thick all over town. Another downside all over Vigan is motorcycle noise. Expect it at most of the hotels in town, including Casa Rica. Cocks crowing too!

Very friendly staff, nice rooms, fantastic Filipino breakfast

The Casa Rica is located in a nice, historic building near the center of Vigan and offers nice and clean rooms. The staff and the owner are very frienly and supportive. The Filipino breakfast is delicious. For sure we will come back and recommend the hotel to others.

            Location, look, wifi.

Fast wifi, clean comfortable rooms. Felt like at home, main attractions close, around 5 minutes walking. Fency historical surrounds. Good breakfast in price. They don't have their own kitchen that means that nothing attracts cockroaches etc. Nice employees and owner, can talk with them. We did not expect this much, but we found it in Casa Rica. Will come again, already looking forward.

Pleasant, value for money, homey, tasteful decor”

            Location, nice design, quiet

Although there were many other hotels of the same category which we looked and checked out also while going around Vigan, Casa Rica, has the most beautiful and tasteful design. I realize that preference is relative, but the decor of this small hotel is very charming. The native, local and Filipino decorations, furnitures and fixtures are very well chosen. I would say that it is very well "curated" The rooms however are quite small. Our room did'nt even have a cabinet and not even have hooks where we can hang our clothes after a sweaty walk-about tour.

At first, we thought that this was the Casa Rica located in Calle Crisologo. It is 5-8 min walk from Calle Crisologo to its location. It has a warm service of the staffs (Kudos for the staff that night, 08Jun2019, she is also the one who prepares our breakfast the following day!), excellent ambiance, delicious breakfast!

This renovated house transformed in hotel is an excellent place in Vigan. Close to Calle Crisologo. You have the feeling to be in an old spanish hotel. Rooms are comfortable, clean. The staff is friendly and prepare a good breakfast in the morning. The only problem, but you are in Vigan, this hotel does not have carpark and your car shall be park on the road. 5* decor at 3* prices, cosy, friendly

Casa Rica is within easy distance of the bus drop off point although we were travelling very light. The staff were very friendly although did have some problems understanding our request for only the vegetarian elements of the breakfast on offer. Other than that our stay was trouble free, quiet and enjoyable.

Very comfortable and satisfying stay in Vigan”

It feels like staying in an ancestral home, it is clean, and it is close to the heritage sites of Vigan

The hotel is typified as a bed-and-breakfast inn, wonderfully renovated and refurbished. You have a feeling of staying in an ancestral home, typical of the time of Vigan during the Spanish colonial era. It is so well preserved with such beautiful and distinct decor which brings you back in time during the Spanish epoch. Though it is not so big a hotel, it feel very comfortable since it is also equipped with modern conveniences (good shower, strong wifi, flat-screen LED tv with cable, aircon, among others). When you go up the stairs, beautiful paintings, chandeliers, porcelain vases, and antique furniture await you. The dining room is nice and it serves the famed Vigan longganisa for breakfast. There's a Spanish-style mansion on the other side of the street, and the famed Calle Crisologo is only a short distance from the hotel. One more thing: The owner of the establishment is very friendly and really takes the time to talk to the guests.

Staff were friendly and very efficient; very clean hotel; daily make-up

My family and I felt very relaxed. Unlike our stay at Hotel Henrico in Baguio, Casa Rica has a friendly atmosphere from the staff.

Very clean hotel with helfpul, attentive staff! ”

Clean room and facilities, nice interior design, and attentive staff

We had a wonderful stay in Casa Rica. The rooms are very clean, though standard room is a bit small. Very limited bathroom supply ( no shampoo, no lotion) soap was too small. Towels looked old but clean. Breakfast was always the same, and not too delicious. But overall we were satisfied in our stay.

            Cozy place”

It's an old house converted into a hotel. The location is near Crisologo Street, a popular tourist area. Their staff are friendly and supportive. They only serve breakfast, a bit cold and it appears to have been ordered to go from a food caterer very early in the morning if not the night before. The popular Longsilog Vigan. The room has Cable Television, Air Condition, a plug in heater for the bath. It's near the Syquia Mansion too. I highly recommend this place.

Great place to stay in Vigan”

Casa Rika is in a great location only a few blocks from the main street of tourism in the city, well within walking distance. Rooms are large, equipped with air conditioners and warm showers. Free breakfast provided. The hotel being close to Crisologo street there are may choices to for which for food and entertainment. TL;DR User recommended Room - Large A/C - Yes Showers - Hot Food - Many choices; Free breakfast WiFi - Available in rooms

            Value for your money”

I thought Casa Rica was a wholesome B&B conveniently located 3 blocks away from Calle Crisologo. it will take you a long walk to get there but tricycles are available as soon as you step outside of the establishment. Over-all our stay was good as our room was generally clean, shower had hot / cold water, and the staff were accommodating. Considering the room was just at 2k /night, I thought it was well worth our money. The only downside was the food they served for breakfast. The serving size was too small and the food was not made to our liking. But then again, having just paid 2k for the night, I thought the inclusion of the breakfast to our accommodation was a good surprise.
