Dissapointed
Room was very dark, dusty and generally unpleasant. The finishing in the hotel leaves a lot to be desired and breakfast was completely sub standard. The staff were nice and tried their best but there is a reason this hotel is cheaper than its 5 star neighbours in Xintiandi

Great Location
This is one of my go to hotels when I stay in Shanghai (2 or 3 times a year). Internet connection is always problematic, staff can be less than helpful solving travel related problems, but that could be a language thing (I only speak English). Great atmosphere and I love the location. Some decorative elements like carpet are starting to look a little worn, but everything is clean.

1 week stay in July
The central location is quite good, walk to French Concession , Old town, Peoples Square and Southern Bund, Mall shopping and restaurants just around the corner. Metro station and supermarket also 5 mins walk away. I stayed in summer and due to heat & humidity the room was a bit stuffy and damp smelling on arrival, though soon cleared up with the air con on constantly. The room and bathroom are comfortably large, with desk, mini fridge and dresser. Furnishings and carpet are all looking quite tired and a little shabby, bed was very hard (which I prefer) but it did have really great pillows!!! Fairly quiet location also. Overall a comfortable but not luxurious stay. Go for breakfast option B.

Wasteful Managers
They are wasteful. They throw away unused shampoo and soap and toothbrush everyday. The hotel manager should be fired for being so wasteful and hurting the environment.

It's not a 5 stars hotel, it's a guest house
Location only
The most disappointing experience in Shanghai so far. Its rating is fake. This hotel would be called a Guest house or boutique hotel but would never get more than 3 stars. The location is the only thing that was right. The staff spoke ZERO English and we communicated through Google translator. They were helpless and unapologetic. To avoid at all cost. This by the way made me lose all faith in Agoda. Too many fake ratings so one cannot trust their service anymore. Personally I will not use Agoda again.

Cosy hotel in an excellent location. Great value.
Location close to Xin Tian Di and the Metro. Shopping and eating areas in abundance. Bed was comfortable and amenities were good.
Very cosy. Easy to get in and out of. Easy for taxi drivers to find. Hot water was tricky though the tap had to be adjusted just right. Breakfast left slot to be desired but there were eateries very close by.

Quality very unequal depending on the room you get
location
The hotel is located very near Xintiandi (5mn by foot) but it may be the only good aspect of it. No real lobby. Entrance difficult to spot from the street. Taxis very seldom know the place. Staffs usually chatting or playing on phones at the reception. Got to change room 3 times for various problems (tv not working, bad smell in the room). Despite all those, the room turns out to be quite pricey.
