Friendly hotel with great hospitality. ”
due to the long journey w my bike, i reached casablanca sapa hotel at around midnight. door was locked as i tried to open it. 1 of the staff appeared and open it up for me. it was wet and cold outside. and they welcome me with warmth despite being at the wee hour at night. knowing that i've been traveling on the road for many hours, the staff helped me with my bike and luggage. cooked me a bowl of noodle as i have not had anything to eat since morning when i set out for sapa from hanoi. the thought really warmed my heart as well as my body.

Friendly family-run hotel/guest house”
We arrived in Sapa in the wee hours of a December morning super tired and COLD (it was near freezing point that day) in 2012. We called ahead and asked the hotel to arrange pick up for us from Lao Cai train station . The owner of the hotel greeted us as we arrived and quickly offered us hot tea and breakfast. Our rooms were very spacious and comfortable, all the beds were equipped with electric blankets. There was cable TV and a small balcony in our room as well. Day 1 we went trekking in a village nearby and the staff organised a day trip for us for Day 2, with van pickup for the way back. Overall a pleasant experience, the only downside was the lack of constant hot water in the winter. My tip is to shower during offpeak times (like earlier in the morning)! Eddie (staff, the owner's cousin) is the best! He helped us with almost everything for our Sapa trip He even cooks all the meals as well!

For a budget hotel this was exceptional. ”
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to experience Sapa on a budget. We did a fastasic tour to the villages and seeing how poor they are it was great to spend our time in Sapa at Casablanca, and not at some 5 star hotel. Staff and hotel owner were so helpful and even though the hotel is going through some major renovations, we felt quite connected with anyone there and just to experience a more down to earth accommodation. If you only like top end accommodation this will not suit you, but then again probably Sapa will not suit you. My advice stay in something below your expectations, experience the people and the villages and enjoy.

great location and staff, simple rooms ”
As soon as we arrived, the hotel manager greeted us and sat us all down for a complimentary breakfast. Our rooms weren't ready at the time so he lit a fire in the dining room for us and we were made quite comfortable. The rooms are simple but with amazing views of the Sapa countryside. All our beds had electric blankets and there was ample hot water so our stay was most definitely comfortable. The hotel is right around from the shops and the Sapa markets, as well as a short hike to the Cat Cat village.

Great view, brilliant and friendly staff!”
we arrived in sapa off the overnight train from hanoi at about 9am. i had stuffed up the booking on agoda, but the staff sorted it out very quickly. they invited us to have breakfast while we waited for our room (free of charge, even though it was not included on arrival), and our room was ready for check in immediately after breakfast. the view was sensational and the hotel is located just off the main strip in sapa. the staff were extremely friendly from start to finish. we thought it was a bit expensive when we booked it, but no complaints after. very much enjoyed our stay.

Electric Blankets”
sapa was very very cold and wet and in the clouds. miserable conditions and frankly the town as a whole is not geared up to those conditions. however the hotel staff did their best to make us comfortable. however we were not expected and the hotel manager attributed this to an error on the part of agoda. nevertheless he looked after us and we have no complaints

Great Location and helpful staff”
This is a 2 star Hotel that the new owner Tom is improving daily. New linen, curtains and tidying up the bathrooms. Tom and staff are very helpful and pleasant and their tour desk did an excellent job. Tom was very accomodating when two of our party was ill , extending room use till train time. Much appreciated. Hotel is in the heart of Sapa and although bedrooms are plain [ some refurbishing is happening} they were clean and adequate and heaters provided if asked for. If anything was required Tom was on the job , even taking me on motor bike to locate bath mats from local market as I mentioned it slippery getting out of bath onto tiles. This attitude helps make this basic Hotel worthwhile .

Great location with views of the valley.”
Casablanca is very close to the main street in Sapa but still a good quiet resting place. The hotel offers help with any travel and tour needs and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The rooms and beds are a good size and there is plenty of hot water for showers. I found the bedding a bit hot for the time of year but eventually found a solution.

Comfortable stay in a family-run hotel friendly”
Happy and friendly hotel. Lovely staff who are very willing to help out with anything. The wifi is everywhere and stable, the breakfast was included and tasted pretty good, and it is very quiet. The hotel is off the main street in Sapa, close to shops and restaurants etc. It is good value for money.

Friendly, helpful staff”
The location is excellent, but the staff are the best thing about this hotel - they are super friendly and went out of their way to help us. They let us check in really early after getting into Sapa at 7:30am and when we got into our room they had the heater on, waiting for us.

Great Staff Service, Value for Money”
We stayed at the topmost floor's bigger deluxe room that comes with a big balcony shared with a smaller deluxe room next door. No obstruction to mountain view at the moment though not too sure 1-2 years down the road as a hotel is coming up across. Hotel's selling point is the young boss vision of providing wonderful, helpful, caring and cheerful service to his guests, regardless if they stayed in his hotel or just booked his tours, which he instills to his young staff constantly. There is no pressure to book his tours. Service is so impeccable that he offers us free breakfast on our early arrival at the hotel (though breakfast is free with room and starts the next day) and a complimentary dinner on one of the days. Bed is hard, as high density foam is used, which seems to be the norm in most budget-friendly Vietnam hotels. As there's a new hotel coming up across the road, there is construction noise during day time, but it's fine as we are out for tours anyway. Staff even asked us for service feedback during our stay. You can say they are really serious about the comfort of their guests. Kudos to the young helpful, cheerful and hardworking staff which really makes a great difference in our stay. Keep up the good service, Tom, Eddie, Loi & rest of the crew!

ok”
The hotel is conveniently located at the center of Sapa. Although the photos show you mountain view, there is now a new hotel that was just been built in front of the Casablanca hotel therefore blocking most of its view. The hotel is clean but hot water system is either too hot or too cold. If you are staying one night that's ok for a stopover. The manager will introduce you to different tours options you can do in the area. Avoid the market, that's really far and the tour is really a tourist trap. The one day group tour trekking around Sapa is worth doing on your first day. And the private tours are much better.

You can find better hotels for the same price”
Was ok, but expected nicer, cleaner room. Everything quite old, kind of shabby. Noisy, allthough a lot less I suppose than many other hotels (while this one is in a sidestreet). In fact we even tried to move to another hotel (for same price but with defenitily cleaner, big, quieter, nicer rooms with a lot more "good feeling"), but that did not work because of some miscommunication. In fact the only plusses were the central location (but there are loads of other hotels central located too) and the really very nice staff. Next time (but there won't be a next time for Sapa, really very much too dissappointing this whole town and so...!) We would defenitily pick another hotel!

Great service an location for exploring sapa”
Chose this hotel because of trip adviser reviews. Reviews were spot on staff were fantastic great service, free breakfast when we arrived off of the train from Lao chai in the morning and shower after we finished our trek. Only slight down side is that the rooms are a tad warn and a little damp due to the climate.

Did not live up to expectations”
Casablanca is well situated in the center of Sapa. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a nice cozy decor. Rooms were run down and did not seem well maintained. The bathroom had long black hairs in it. Our friends room on the top floor was really smelly and just outside their room they could clearly see a roof top area with lots of junk lying about. Based on previous reviews, the pictures and the price point, we were expecting much more. We ended up checking out (without demanding refund) and switched to a nearby hotel that (for the same price) was far supperior. Unless they clean up this hotel, they should lower their price.

A truly heartwarming stay with beautiful views”
mr. tom is the friendliest hotelier in the world. we arrived at 6am from the night train and he immediately offered us a free breakfast and took us to our room. the next day he invited us to a family dinner and we had a wonderful evening. the hotel has a family atmosphere, and eddie, his cousin, was our guide for the hill village tours. his english was excellent and he was a mine of useful information. the rooms are simple but clean, the wifi's good, and the food was delicious. the view from the balcony was beautiful when the mist cleared, and overall, i cannot recommend the place or the people highly enough. we had a magical time and would love to go back.

Time for some TLC”
Our hotel transfer from the station to Sapa did not turn up, so we were late arriving in Sapa. Our hotel room was VERY basic and the bathroom had so many cracked tiles and stains in the bath that it just felt like the rooms were in desperate need of a severe make-over. The beds were comfortable after a 9 hour trek which was spectacular. Mr Tom, the hotel operator, was very friendly and helpful, but I just feel Casablanca would do well with some money spent on the interiors.
