A nice, quiet getaway for those who want to relax”
Cashew Grove is the perfect getaway if you want to spend a quiet, relaxing getaway in Coron. It's rated a 3-star resort but made me feel like it's a 4 or 5 star resort. It's located on the northwestern part of Coron island whereas Coron town (and all the famous island hopping activities are located) are on the southeastern part of the island so if you want to do the activities, skip Cashew Grove and just stay at a cheap hotel in Coron Town, as the transfer from Cashew Grove to Coron Town can be quite expensive and takes about 2 hours. But if you want a relaxing stay at a beachfront property, then Cashew Grove is an excellent resort! Getting to Cashew Grove is the hardest part. The airport is located at the middle of the island and the road towards Cashew Grove is bumpy, unpaved dirt road. There are lots of airport shuttles to and from the airport and Coron Town (where the roads are paved) but most of them are reluctant to take you the other way to Cashew Grove. The resort itself can arrange for airport transfers but it'll cost you P1000 per person each way. And if you wanted to transfer from Cashew Grove to Coron Town to do the activities, the transfer can cost you P3000 and up! What me and my girlfriend did (and is what I recommend to everyone) is to book your first night at a cheap hotel in Coron Town. That way, when you land at the airport, just pay the P150 transfer from the airport to Coron Town (they'll take you right up to your hotel). Then the next day do your activities and at night, pay the P3000 transfer from Coron Town to Cashew Grove. Your hotel at Coron Town should be able to arrange the transfer. Just ask. That way you get to do all the activities first, then spend the rest of your vacation relaxing! When we got to Cashew Grove, the resort itself is small with 11 cabins in the "bahay kubo" (hut) style. The small number of occupancy at any one time means that you'll be catered to by the excellent staff. The cabins are all beachfront and you can choo

Great resort to spend a few days”
Cashew Grove is a very nice and calm resort. Our bungalow was really beautiful and tidy and the food was excellent. I can recommend the island tour! It`s only half an hour by boat to a nice little island with an amazing beach. The only negative thing is that the ride to and from the airport is quite pricy and takes more than an hour on a very bumpy road.

Truly stunning and amazing place to go!!! So beautiful, relaxing, romantic, and welcoming.”
This was the most beautiful place we stayed during our 3 week journey. It is very far from the airport and Coron town, but so worth the journey. We motorbiked our way there, which was truly a hell of an experience and adventure, but so GORGEOUS! (Tip: rent an ATV or serious motorbike, about an hour and a half driving time, or just book a shuttle pick up) I booked Cashew Grove months ago, but we had a major change of plans due to the typhoons. Our flight was cancelled and we could not make it to our reservation on time. Ian was super helpful and understanding, and allowed us to change our dates. Thank you so much for that! Staff was so friendly and helpful. The locals we met around were amazing too. We stayed in a beachfront cottage which was truly beautiful!! Unfortunately we didn't get to dive because the typhoon weather and aftermath, but we hope to return again and make up for it. It really was an awesome place to stay and we will remember it always. So, so amazing!

Authentic hotel in coron”
We booked 2 nights in Cashew Grove but could only stay one night due to flight cancellation from PAL. The hotel sent a pick up and we had a nice journey to the hotel. The street is very bad which makes the journey an hour long but seeing the surrounding let you forget about it. We arrived and went straight to the beach which is very nice. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The houses are made of bamboo which is very pretty and still clean. The staff made us have a nice Christmas Day with food and a performance. Overall we find it expensive compared to other locations in Coron or general Philippines. But it's still a very nice place to stay for 2-3 days. For more days we think the choice of food and activities is too little. The owner, Mike and Wayne made our stay very comfortable there.

Great stay”
We enjoyed very much our 4 days at Cashew Grove. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. You must know before going that the resort is isolated , nothing around , 1hr drive from the airport, so you have no choice to eat morning, lunch and dinner at the resort. They food is good, good selection and everyday the dinner is different (eg. 1st night was a buffet, 2nd night it was set on the beach with a 3 courses menu, 3rd night it was around the pool).. (the price is correct ) Negative point is if you have food intolerance/allergy you don t have any choice other than rice. I recommend the activities such as Coron Island hoping. check the website for picture. Other negative point is that the activities are expensive if you are only 2 people... they set the price for 4 and 6 people.. Overall it was a great stay...but very very quiet...

Great stay!”
I really enjoyed Cashew Grove, my entire stay from the staff to the communication and food was all excellent. Would recommend anyone who plans to stay in the area to consider this resort!

Nature at its best”
The resort is secluded with no resort nearby. A big plus if you want a very relaxing atmosphere. There is no tv and internet so there's nothing else to do but commune with nature or cuddle with your loved ones. A very nice feature of the room is the "sun roof/moon roof" wherein you could see the sky while you are on your bed. Aside from being an energy saver, it feels great to wake up in the morning with the sunshine caressing your face. It also features an open air shower area which is kinda cool but bathing becomes tricky when the weather is rainy. From the Busuanga Airport the resort can be reached either by land or sea. If choose to go by land it will be through a bumpy hour long drive. Best to arrange a 4x4 transport service from the hotel. If you choose to go there by sea you still have to travel by land for about 30mins and then transfer to a boat for a serene 30 - 45mins boat ride.

Wonderful little resort at the beach”
we arrived at busuanga apt. and were picked up per agreement for a fee of one way. upon arrival we got a beachside bungalow instead of a poolside since staff thought it would be more suitable with infant. we spent three days here doing a snorkeling trip to nearby islands which was the highlight. white sand, lots of corals and fish and a great guy/boat captain made our day. the staff at the hotel were very helpful and food although a bit expensive by philippine standard turned out to be tasty and plentyful. i would highly recommend this place to families with small children or couples. the only drawback was the hotel beach which had some algaes but i think it had to do with lowtide at the time.

Nice hotel with some disadvantages”
The hotel is located super quiet 1 hour outside of Coron town. The bungalows are big and bright with an outside bathroom. There is a nice pool outside (you can't really swim in the sea). Staff is also really nice. Disadvantage is definitely the food which was really not good and there are no other options to eat around the hotel. They offer only 2 dishes a day and even then the taste is bad. I had much better food in every other accomondation I had and those have been much cheaper than Cashew Grove.

Very friendly staff, perfect quiet location”
we, two couples, stayed in 2 beach front cottages. open the door and you look over the ocean which is 15 meters away from you. the hotel is very small, i counted 23 people max at dinner time. it gives you a family like feeling. the staff is very friendly and helpful. there is nothing around the hotel. you have to eat there all meals. but the hotel is doing a very good job for providing best food and service. eat in the open air restaurant or by the beach. the water is full of sea grass and not doog for swimming. you can walk in for around 70 meters and you still are just to your knees in the water. then there is a small reef for snorkeling and behind it gets deep. there is quite a current over the reef but as long as you stay in the shallow water you are in no danger. verious day trips are provided but they are overprized in general since there are no other options. take a boat to a neighboring island for a fantastic snorkel experience and clear water. our trip took 45 minutes by boat. the beach was fantastic with extremely fine and white coral sand. the water very clear. we were the only people on the island and had 500 meters of beach for us. you find all sorts of shells washed to shore which tells you that there are not many tourists. leave the shells at the beach as you are not allowed to take them home anyway. we went fishing for 3 hours but almost got nothing and the fishes were small. the guides used better fishing equipment than what they gave us and they caught a lot. it is disappointing that they don't provide good gear for tourist. what they used was not not more expensive. i can tell as i know fishing. i suggest asking for a mosquito net. i only saw 1 mosquito but there are other small animals in the room.the room could have been cleaned better. the spider i killed was on the floor for 2 days. we went in february 2013. i reckon in ~2 years the hotel needs major renovation because it is build out of bamboo. it still looks very new now but for how l

Nice quiet relaxing short break”
This is a lovely quiet spot if you are looking for solitude and space to relax. The venue is very remote and you are dependent on eating in at the restaurant as there are no shops nearby- no public transport to speak of and you are completely dependent on paying for everything due to the remoteness of the resort. Be sure to add on the 10% to every thing you have to purchase from the resort - this does make the food expensive - although the food was always fresh and first class. Castle Grove It is clean, tidy, well maintained and very friendly with superb staff. For those who want to swim this is not the place to stay - the sea looks beautiful but is completely rocky and weedy at all times. It's best to pay the resort to organise a boat trip for the day to a sandy beach with water you can swim in. This of course is an added expense. It's an ideal place for couples wanting a quiet short break away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Nice huts but poor location”
Cashew Grove was very nice - the huts were clean and the resort itself was quite beautiful. I didn't realise how remote it is though, until I arrived. My friend wanted to do some diving, but it turned out to be very expensive as it was an hour and a half drive into Coron (the main town). So we ended up taking a boat to Club Paradise (had to pay for that), then diving there was quite expensive as you had the kit rental, boat rental, gas fees and entrance fee to the island. If you're looking to chill out and do some island hopping this place is for you. If you're young and want to be very active, try staying in Coron. There's no nightlife here, no internet and it can be quite noisy in the mornings with the dogs and roosters.

Lovely hotel on the beach”
Lovely hotel! We really liked the eco-friendly design of the bungalows, right on the beach amongst the cashew trees. SStaff and owner are very kind and helpful. The hotel had only just opened when we were there, so it was very quiet. We were more or less the only guests. Absolutely recommend this hotel if you want to have some secluded romantic days. Also great for diving.

Good place to dive around and Apo reef”
I was glad to choose my first week in the Philippines at this resort. It's a peaceful place in the north of Busuanga. The only thing you can do there is diving, but it's worthy. The Dugong dive center placed in the Paradise Club in a close island comes to the resort to fetch people for diving. Diving is very good quality, in the north of the island, and reaching Apo reef in one day. The food is very good, the hotel is clean and quite confortable.

STAFF WON...CASHEW GROVE LOST....”
I just want to say a BIG .... THANK YOU... TO TIN, RUEL, JANICE, ADELE, JM AND THE REST OF THE STAFF... You all made our family vacation.. If not for these people, Cashew Grove would be NOTHING... They make this resort as they are ever so warm, friendly and accommodating to ALL the guests. Cashew Grove could be a very nice resort if the owners are willing to upkeep the place in its entirety. Everything needs updating. Again... the staff is what made our stay!!!.

Beautiful remote beachfront location”
Couple staying three nights. Beautiful secluded beachfront property with bungalow meters from the shore. Lovely pool. Limited internet. Limited food choices and don’t expect anything fancy. But Adel makes a killer pina colada and Monalisa has the warmest hands for great massages. This is island living at its best. Went diving with the next door dive centre to the reef and saw barracuda, shark, rays, huge turtles and the most exotic coral formations I have ever come across. Thanks to Lextor our guide who organized everything. Three dives, one day, two different island locations. Total cost for two incl gear, just over 12000 pesos. Worth it! Comments for the resort owner: 1. Beach towels please 2. Ensure shower drainage gets cleaned 3. Get internet or don’t offer it. But for the price and the location, we loved it. Ps. Remember to order your restaurant food way in advance to help the kitchen prep.

remote resort but a silent place for relaxing ”
Although i stayed the pool-side rm with non air-conditioner, it is acceptable. It is more natural but there are many incents. The beach is not good for swimming because there are too many seaweeds and stones. We just rent a boat for island hopping in white sand beach, diving or sunshine in Dimakya Island. The transportation fee is so high. The van costs P3500 from Coron Island and P2000 from the resort to the airport. The overall feeling is not bad if you enjoy a silence and the staffs are very nice, caring and welcome.

The food isn’t enough for a man”
It has nice beaches, although not white sand one, the place has the natural and village like houses, with bird and Beatles singing while you sleep, the staff has been helpful and tugging dive center is right by its side. But, The food, you spend 650 for each dinner per person and you got is some plain bread, one soup, and two piece, I mean two piece of chicken, mate! That isn’t enough for a baby. Well, I will say it’s a good place for people ona diet, but if you are planning to go diving, I will recommend you bring 10kg of bakery fruits from town so you don’t have to order the blackmail dinner. WiFi sucks, BTW.

Tranquility on a remote beach”
excellent place for a rest in a secluded place far from the city bustle. the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. i got an upgraded room on the beach and this enhanced my experience of the place. the sunset from the terrace is a memorable experience. daily trips and island hopping organized with good, reliable boats. if anything, food offering could be more varied, and a selection of snacks or sandwiches should be offered besides the set menu as a lower cost option.
