Fantastic Place to stay in Port Barton!”
We really loved our stay here. After a long day on the road we arrived to our cabin with to find an esky /cooler full of cold beer and drinks for us as an Australians this was a godsend! The location of the bungalow's were right on the beach in one of the best spots to be in Port Barton. Dan the owner was extremely helpful and friendly as a host and his coffee was fantastic, as we were missing a good cuppa joe in the Philippines! Boyette, Dans offsider helped us fix our motorbike for free and offered to take us fishing the next time we stayed here which we definitely will the next time we come to Palawan. A big thankyou to Cassandras beach Cottages I only gave the food 1 star as they do not serve food here but right next door are some great restaurants and places to eat, which Dan is more than happy to recommend. Cheers - Toby and Emmie

Idyllic”
When I arrived, I was greeted by the sweetest little girl, Cassandra was her name. She informed me that these were, in fact, HER cottages! Kassandra was 8 years old and, after allowing me through the gate, she introduced me to her father Dan, and mother Ethel. After 10 minutes in their company I quickly understood why this place had received such a high rating! What hosts! Dan invited me to happy hour on his deck along with his family; Cassandra offering me a piece of cake that she said she had just made for my visit! He and I easily sat there together, laughing and talking and watching the sun go down. Ethel alternatively played with a kitten, practiced yoga positions, and generally shined her light while Cassandra was pleased to show me the artwork she had created from pieces of driftwood and other sea stuff. Perfect location. Perfect hosts. Perfect and simple accommodations! Thank you!

Gracious hosts, laid back beach cottages!”
Dan, Ethel and Cassandra were the best hosts! We originally booked 3 nights at Cassandras and ended up staying 4. On top of that, they recommended destinations for our next few days and helped us to book everything! Port Barton is a beautiful hidden gem, just off the beaten path enough to maintain its peaceful, beach town vibe. We loved the family atmosphere, joining Dan, his family and the other guests for some great wine each evening at sunset! The beachfront cottages are basic, very comfortable bed, everything you need for a relaxed beach getaway. We loved it and would return in a heartbeat!

Amazing place in Port Barton, nice and lovel”
I spent two nights in Port Barton in Cassandras Cottage. It's located close to the beach but not in the touristic centre. My cottage was inside very clean, the equipment is moderne and in good quality. The electricity works only morning (8-10 am) and evening (6-11 pm), but the cooker is gaseous so you can cook when ever you want. I also has small garden with a table and chairs. The owner and his wife are very friendly, you can have a beer or some drinks during watching a sunset. They also prepare a excellent coffee. I love this place

Rustic but Nice”
My wife and I were fortunate to find accommodations at Cassandra’s Cottages during the busy travel week preceding Chinese New Year celebrations. We were warmly greeted by the owner, Dan, the moment we arrived, after a hairy ride on what was loosely called a road through the jungle. His hospitality made us immediately feel like one of the family. We stayed in a classic Philippine “Nepa Hut”, authentically constructed of bamboo and palm. It was in excellent condition and very clean, having been constructed only about 3 years ago. Amenities were limited (there is no AC, electricity is only available from 1730 to 2330, and there is no hot water), but the charm and authenticity of the place made up for it. Our location right on the beach made for spectacular scenery, especially at sunset. It was also extremely convenient, with instant beach access and several good places to eat within short walking distance. This is a great place to go to relax. Diving, snorkeling, swimming, etc. are all right there. We simply can’t say enough about how well we were treated by Dan and his adorable daughter, Cassandra. It is also very reasonably priced.

Port Barton”
Definitely value for money. We really enjoyed our stay in Cassandras. And the superb thing was when after a 12 hours traveling we finally went there and 2 minutes after we arrived I open the bungalow door and found a cool box on our terrace full of ice cold beer, soda, water etc. Damn that beer tasted good! We had beachfront cottage and stayed 3nights. Nice and peaceful location and own privacy. lovely and friendly. Thank you!

Relaxed stay by the beach”
We've really enjoyed our stay at Cassandra's! We came to Port Barton to relax and this place helped us greatly! Dan, the owner, is very friendly and has lived i PB for a while, so he can help you with any travel questions you may have. Our cottage was facing the bay, which was perfect, especially for watching the sunset. Cassandra's doesn't have a kitchen, but that is no disadvantage as there are many restaurants on the beach strip and you won't have to walk for more than five minutes to get to a nice restaurant. The electricity works only in the morning and evening (also the wifi), which is pretty much the practice in PB and it proved to be a no obstacle to us. Although there is no electricity during the day, there is a cooler in the porch with new ice every day, so you can enjoy chilled drinks all day long! In the late afternoon, there was usually really nice music playing to go along with the sunset! Also, there is wine available at Cassandra's, which is something that may be quite hard to find in Port Barton. Although there is no proper shower, the bathroom in our cottage was really nice and it was quite easy to wash there - although with cold water. Definitely recommend the stay here and hopefully we'll be able to return someday.

the best”
We stayed in a Cottage overlooking the beach. The place is very clean, peaceful. There are just a few mosquitoes at dusk. They keep the place very clean with all this plants surrounding the whole area. They also have a very good and trusted caretaker. He's the one who arranged our tour and our van going to Puerto princesa and also to his sister and nephew they are all very nice. The place is walking distance to the restaurants and sari-sari store if you need stock inside your room. I advise to bring flashlight and mosquito repelants. Some streets don't have lights and if it's raining the soil is like muddy clay.. PS: Thanks to the caretaker and Hi to Bianca (Dog)

Charming”
We enjoyed our stay very much. In general, Port Barton is a small, quiet place. The facilities of Cassandra enabled us to enjoy the full experience of visiting Port Barton! If you're on honeymoon and want to have your own puiet place, this is it.

simple but beautiful cottage on the beach”
very simple but nice cottage right on the beach, a little bit outside of the village (still everything in walking distance), clean, no hot water (but warm - feels greate), very friendly stuff. Unfortunately the only bar which is open a little bit longer and plays loud music is right beside it.

Exceptional”
Directly at the silent part of the beach, awesome view over the beach and the sea. Beautiful snd authentic hut with garden and the owner is very nice, too. He organizes island hopping, vans for transport and a box with cold beverages on your terrace. Electricity only from 6 pm and no warm water but thats part of the charme of port barton. Would go there any time again.

Nice nplace by the beach”
The place is nice but the whole town isn't what we had in mind, internet says Port Barton is a quiet place with no people, but actually it was the most crowded beach we visited. The rooms are very clean and private, you have your own bathroom and the beds are comfortable, the only thing is that the man that runs the place doesn't want to give the wifi password, he says it's only for him, so good luck if you don't have a sim card for yourself.

Lovely place, unpleasant owner”
For my work or for my leisure activities, I have been travelling all around the world for forty years and I had never received a welcome so unfriendly as to Cassandra's Beach Cottages. The American owner has no idea of the filipino smile. But the two cottages are lovely and well located along the beach, with some inconveniences however: no shower, just bucket of cold water, no wifi early morning and after 7PM, electricity (GH generator) from 8AM to 11AM when it would be more convenient to have it from 6AM or 7AM as all boats and buses depart early morning, towels never changed.

Charming but...”
We got a friendly welcome and loved to chill out on the verandah with ocean view. But the nipa hut has many gaps and a woven floor with big spaces in between so it is open to anything that crawls and flies, and there is a lot of it. Cold shower only. Electricity is off from midnight to 8 am, then the fan is off and you sit on the potty listening to the sound of mosquitoes buzzing around you. The bed has a net but with some holes in it. You can hear pretty much every word and moan from the other hut. Between the huts and the ocean there is some brown and mostly stagnant water that empties into the sea when there is enough of it or any rain, and this is a favourite meeting and fighting area for all stray beach dogs at night. After 2 nights we happily moved to a place with 24 hours electricity, no mosquitoes in the room, hot shower and a pool for only 400 pesos more.

Wow !!”
Port Barton is a real gem. If you want a paradise beach with some tavernas and just a little bit of night life, you wont do better than this place. Go there now before it gets ruined by the package tour companies.
