The hotel probably has great views, but not when we were there! The room was clean and comfortable with fridge, kettle, computer and TV. Breakfast was good and the staff helpful and friendly.

we had a nice stay at this hotel. the hotel is in a central location and is good value for the money. the owner books tours for the guests but beware because sometimes it is not possible to cancel. all together it was a nice stay and the healthy breakfast was very nice.

The CatCat View went out of their way to make our stay excellent! We walked all around town to find the nicest place for a decent rate and CatCat View was the best.

Pleasantly surprised”
Good location, friendly staff, awesome view
This is a good value hotel considering that Sapa is a little more expensive than other tourist towns in Vietnam. We stayed on the top floor and the view was beautiful. Their free breakfast is one of the best I've had.

Greate Location, Good Service
Cat Cat Hotel have a good location. Its only take few minutes to the town, markets and is not far from the entrance of Cat Cat Village. You could make urself to Cat Cat village by your own. The staff service is good and the room is big and nice. They do provide us the heater and electronic blanket, so we feel very warm although the weather is under 10 degree.Beside, they do offer a computer in the room with internet access.. Yet, the only thing need to imporve was that the bed and pillow didnt cover with cover, so its look quite dirty when u on the bed.

Heartwarming hotel with excellent service”
Centrally positioned in town, friendly owners, well furnished rooms and breathtaking views
I booked this hotel after reading the generally positive reviews written by others in Agoda, and as a result I had relatively high expectations towards the standard of Cat Cat Hotel. Despite this, I still managed to be surprised in the most pleasant manner from my stay in this hotel. This hotel is a family ran place with plenty of history, and is maintained consistently in excellent conditions. We managed to dirty the lounge at every opportunity possible with our backpacking gears and muddy shoes, yet every time we returned from a trekking trip to other villages the place goes back to becoming sparkling clean. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished, with a real artistic feel that can delight the romantics. The basic facilities are excellent (reliable showers, really comfortable beds, fast wifi, heat padding under the bed sheets etc). Further, the large balcony outside the rooms is an excellent place to hang out with friends and family (with a couple bottles of beer it is even better) and offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the townlet. What impressed me the most is the flawless, top-notch service we received from the hotel owners during our stay there. As I did not manage to find a compatible converter for my iphone charger, the owner offered to help me charge my phone through an USB cable connected to her personal computer. They even took shifts to guard the phone in case of theft (which is very rare in Sapa, an honest town with down to earth people). The final heartwarming act came on the last day of our stay, when we checked out of the hotel and left our bags in the lounge before we go on another expedition. We returned with muddy boots and dirty clothes, and requested for shower facilities. The rooms were already fully booked, but they immediately cleaned out their kitchen toilet to allow us to clean ourselves. We could not resist the temptation to tip them for their excellent services, only to get rejected initially until we forced them to.

Pleasant stay and English speaking, honest hosts”
English speaking local hosts, plugs in the lobby,
The hotel has an awesome view. The hosts of the hotel was helpful. Although the website says that you can check in at 11, my overnigjt bus arrived at 7 and they let check in ASAP. I notice that some other hotels that claims that they have a view don't really. Some rooms face the streets so you face the opposite buildings. Luckily this was not a scam.

Great budget hotel with a view and friendly staff”
The warm friendly staff, the very comfortable and nicely decorated room and the mountain view.
Overall a great hotel for budget conscious travellers. PROS: Very friendly staff, willing to help you out as much as they can. Nice views(I was on the third floor, still nice but ask for one of the top levels). Very nicely decorated room and very comfy bed! Real fireplace if you are there in winter. I didn't eat there except for breakfast which filled the spot, but nothing to get excited about. CONS: Wifi isn't great in the rooms - manageable but did drop too low to often to be particularly useful. In summer the rooms might get a bit hot. No fan or aircon. I was there in 28 degree temps and it was bearable but think it will be a bit hotter in the middle of summer!

Cosy, family run hotel”
Nice location, great views from rooms on upper floors, electric blankets, open fire
Fairly basic but lovely and good value hotel in Sapa. Run by local family who are friendly and helpful. We had a room on the top floor which have great views and big, flower-filled balcony. Rooms are good size, beds are quite hard though but electric blanket makes up for it! The room and bathroom can be cold but an open fire in the evening helps make it very warm and cosy. Wifi is excellent. Hot water doesn't last long, but at least it's hot! Breakfast is fine, I thought the healthy option was nice.

Nice room and good location”
Good room and warmth your heart
We were "wow" by the nice touch of the room (nice wooden flooring and feature, and a fire place!) Breakfast is great here, especially on the last morning we ordered the healthy breakfast and had a hearty one. Location is good as just a short walk away from the market which is a buzz for walk around. The down side is during winter time, it is extremely cold even with electric blanket and a heater, especially worst when need to shower. Other than that it is wonderful place.

nice, but sapa was freezing”
Log fire, lovely staff, good price
The hotel was nice and the staff lovely. We enjoyed our tour of the local villages, It might be a better idea to walk around town a bit and wait for them to approach you (which they definitely will). If they speak good english and you like them then maybe book directly for about half of what you would have paid. In the price will include the government fee for visiting the villages, the car that picks you up and brings you home and the cost of lunch, so don't aim too low on the negotiated price. Maybe $25-$30 would be fair for everyone. (This is all based on 2 people walking to 2 villages with 1 guide. The tour takes about 3 hours and should include a driver to take you back to Sapa afterwards) Anyway I'm off topic - the hotel was nice, but we were there in winter so it was FREEZING. The room had an open fire, which was nice, but we still had a heating lamp on all the time. This is a problem as everyone does this and it resulted in about 3 power cuts a day. My only complaint was that there was not enough hot water, otherwise we were happy.

Friendly hotel”
Location & log fires
We arrived on the day train from Hanoi. The hotel had offered a pick up from the station, but unfortunately assumed that we would be on the night train, so no-one was there to meet us. After much hassle & negotiations with the mini bus drivers at the station, (they wanted 200,000 dong per person, but we got them down to 100,000, even this was to much though, as the hotel only wanted 50,000), we eventually got to the Cat Cat. The rooms are clean & tidy, with a log fire. They are quite cold though and have no other form of heating, apart from the electric blankets, which were much appreciated (and needed). We were there with 2 friends for Christmas and got invited by the manager and his staff to a free barbecue on Christmas Eve. It was such a special night, but watch out for the home-made rice and apple wines!! (Good but lethal!). All in all, we had a really enjoyable stay and would stay here again.

Good location, friendly & helpful staff who spoke good English
The room was quite basic, but comfortable. There was no ability to wash or dry clothes/shoes within the room, but the hotel staff were able to arrange this (for a small fee). The hotel was well located, close to shops and restaurants, with lots of other travellers around.

Met at Lao Cai by minivan, $2.50 each.... good service Be aware that there are several 'Cat Cat' hotels all adjacent (ie Cat Cat View... Cat Cat Twilight) so make sure you book the right one. Cat Cat Hotel was excellent, we had 3 adjoining rooms, private balcony... great views The staff were really helpful, the meals good (breakfast included)
