An ideal retreat for nature-lovers”
I first came here intending to stay for 2 days but I just HAD TO make it 3. And next time I come back I wish to stay much longer. - Forest Call Lodge has an especially quiet and soothing atmosphere. Though its location is superb, it is a world away from the frantic/exotic atmosphere of more typical tourist lodging options. Very private, calm, genuine and unique. You will not be greeted by indistinguishable staff members everywhere you go, instead, you can either enjoy complete solitude and silence for hours on end or you can choose to enjoy the wonderful company of the owner himself and his two lovely dogs over a cup of tea. They're the best! I hope to see them again and again in my near future. - Forest Call Lodge is such a treat for your self and your senses. Your ears are filled with the sounds of raindrops on the leaves. Your eyes their vivid green. Your nose high-quality fresh air. And your well-being generally just goes up. I had little experience with meditation, and I generally think of it as a form of demanding practice, but with my time here I realize that meditation perhaps is more a state of mind - and, like a breeze, it can come and go by itself without influence on our consciousness or intention, though we can create and nurture more or less favorable conditions for the 'meditative breeze' to take place. For example, I did not set out to sit and meditate at all but from being present in such stress-free environment somehow naturally my mind became clear and focused, and my moods stable and positive through and through. - The garden and the river nearby are definitely lovely - and I spent most of the time outdoors, but I'm most impressed with the room itself. Very interesting and well-thought-out design. Kudos to whoever came up with the architectural sketches and interior choices! The lodge offers the inhabitants enough comfort and convenience, style as well, but it is equally nice and beneficial to the environment. If Heidegger (the philosop

Bad”
So hot summer night without AC room, awaked by gecko all night, slept with insects. No parking space. Food is normal, but long wait. Far from forest, no support for Forest tour.

Very poor all around”
Offered only bread and honey or noodles as part of the inclusive breakfast...no coffee or other drink included. Ran out of eggs. Ran out of ice... no ice for dinner drinks. They didn't clean our room on the second day despite three separate requests. Had a constant flow of insects crawling under the doors... even had a frog in our bathroom... unexpected guest.

Friendly staff but limited choice for breakfast”
Staff is very friendly & helpful. They arranged a small talk/tea party about zen at night which was good. There is only one dish served for breakfast. The wooden sink in the restroom looks nice but it could not contain water so it was easy to get wet when we used it.

Amazing person, amazing place”
When I arrived to Forest Call, I didn't know that I'm going to meet probably the most Eco conscious person in Vietnam, Mr. Thuat. He fought the plans to demolish parts of the park for power stations, successfully! Also he's just an incredible person with great stories. Oh, and the place was gorgeous, the food was simple but heartfelt. Super relaxing, very recommended!

Really cool place”
Staff, Wifi, Food!
This place is very interesting. When I was there, most of the staff was gone due to TET (new year holiday). The owner and his brother basically ran the place. They were great. They cooked the food and made sure I had a nice stay. Their attitude and hospitality made a huge difference for me. Very nice people. Keep in mind, this place is basically in (right next to) Cat Tien park. The hostel is located in a place with more bugs, and lizards and stuff like that. If that doesn't bother you, this place is really cool. The restaurant is open air dining so a bit of bug repellent was good for me. Don't get me wrong, there were no bed bugs or anything. The place was clean, its just basically in the forest. The dorm was the most basic dorm I've stayed in. No air con just a fan above. Definitely bring your mosquito net. Shower isn't heated but the tank heats in the sun during the day, so the water was about room temp at night. Wifi was good. They offer tours too! It's more rustic, but very charming. I liked this place a lot and would recommend it to my own Mother.

One of a kind Cat Tien”
Ambiance, location, Vibration
I first got there from HCMC and wanted to discover the Cat Tien national park. I meet my host Thuat on my arrival and fell in love with this place. A big roof made from palm trees is the main area for food and socializing. Furthermore, the room made by Thuat himself is gorgeous. Spacious, original and well design. I can't believe am in the middle of the forrest. Thuat made us visit the village and brought us to this little restaurant in the middle of the village next to a bridge, to eat the traditional vietnamese food. WOW !! You have to ask him to go there.

Great family adventure”
really nice people, good food, safe setting..
We stayed at Forest Call with children, aged 9 to 11. It was an exciting adventure for them, and not stressful for us as parents. Great, friendly service, great food. I would call the style "rustic," and it is very clean. It is not your ordinary hotel experience. If you backpacked before you had kids, and slept on a dirt floor or in hammocks or bamboo bunks, you'll appreciate the ambiance, without the discomfort (Queen size mattresses in our two bungalows, with air conditioning and/or fans). Nice, safe, secure modern bungalows, and an easy walk to the local attraction, which is the gibbons in the park... The best value for the money so far on our trip!

Amazing place - amazing owner”
Ecological, lovely, clean air
Stay was great. The owner has been written about in the New York Times for organizing against the dam that would have flooded a big part of Cat Tien. He was interviewed over Skype by the BBC while we were staying here. He is a truly amazing person. He worked as a Ranger for Cat Tien for many years, but was fired because of his political activism for saving the pristine jungle. But he made lemonade from the lemons by opening his own Lodge. It's a really lovely place.

Beautiful, modern, great owner
Beautiful place, owner does whatever he can to make your stay enjoyable. Very close to river crossing into to Cat Tien National Park. Only negatives are the food, which was bland and basic and while the rooms are fantastic, as it's 2 rooms to a "house" you and your neighbours can hear everything each other is doing.
