Catalonia Las Cortes Hotel
"I especially enjoyed the complimentary afternoon snack."
February 3, 2017
Located in the historic center of Madrid, very close to the Plaza Santa Ana, this charming hotel is in the famous Barrio de las Letras quarter. Set in the admirable Huertas area, the Catalonia Las Cortes Hotel is only a short distance from such famous attractions as the Puerta del Sol, Plaza de Cibeles, and The Art Triangle. The hotel provides guests with a tranquil environment only steps from the finest shopping, dining, and entertainment in the entire city. Decorated in a classical style, this attractive property is modern but retains the charm of the building’s original features. Catalonia Las Cortes Hotel is ideal for a wonderful stay right in the center of Madrid.
"Good value, convenient location, clean and comfortable room."

Elegant hotel - clean room and friendly staff”
Cleanliness and security are always the first two concerns when I look for a hotel. We stayed in a double room for three nights and Catalonia Las Cortes Hotel did not disappoint me. The room and the public area are neat and clean. The safe is big (some are kind of small, you know) and fixed to the wall inside the wardrobe. Also, there is only one entrance for guests so anyone entering the hotel would be noticed by the reception to spot strangers. In addition, the lights in room are sufficiently strong which we love too (some hotel room make it dim (may be to create an atmosphere for sleeping?) and I find it not easy to see whether the room corners/bedsheets/furniture/etc are clean or not.). We also love the free snacks area not only because of the food and drinks but also the two computers which let me handled some work stuff that could not be displayed on the phone browser. We like it and would certainly stay here if we visit Madrid again!
Excellent location and lovely staff. I suggest a standard room for best value. I found the room too warm even with the he heater turned off. It was hard to keep the window open as it banged with the breeze.
Great hotel & location ”
The hotel is beautiful. The room was clean & had everything you need. They even provided a smart phone that you could use for international calls & take with you to use in the city while you’re exploring. It was very useful for us since our cell phones didn’t have service overseas. The hotel also has free tapas from 1:00-Midnight. It was Fantastic!
4 nights in Madrid”
Great hotel to spend time in Madrid. Great room, staff extremely friendly and efficient. Only downside is lack of a nice outside space to sit in. They do have a space but is for smokers so is very smoky.
Comfortable, cosy hotel ; excellent location.”
We greatly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cosy hotel. Beautiful room, quiet, comfortable. The location is also perfect, near and also away from the "Sol" buzz! It is very easy to travel from and to the airport just using the shuttle bus that stops by "Cibeles" (walking distance to the hotel). We would no hesitate to book a room at Catalonia Las Cortes Hotel again. Thank you!
nice comfortable hotel in good location”
Hotel in very good location, rooms are ok beds are single pushed together. Breakfast is ok but we decided to go elsewhere as lots of places to eat nearby. Hotel clean and staff very friendly and welcoming.
Great location, the friendliest staff, excellent breakfast and other goodies supplied all through the day. My only complaint is that the reception rooms and dining rooms are small, feel modest for the quality of the hotel, have low ceilings and no view or sense of place.
The rooms were amazing, the service impeccable and the breakfast top notch. The location was near to train stations, bus lines, shopping or walking to many of the city attractions. It's the perfect hotel and a real value. They were able to accomodate our early arrival and provided evening appetizers and wine tastings each night. If I come to Lisbon again, I will absolutely stay here!
Helpful, courteous staff, ”
Helpful, courteous staff. Well maintained common areas and rooms. Many good dining options nearby. Would definitely stay here again. Access from subway with suitcases is a bit challenging - no lift in the stations and cobblestone streets.
Nice Hotel in beautiful Madrid”
We stayed there 2 nights for a weekend. Good location in one of the small tide side-streets. Very friendly staff, from check-in, to the bar tender. We got a nice spacey corner room on the higher floor! Normal equipped. No old smelly carpeting but a wooden floor, clean room, and bed good. The aircon silent and relatively smooth. With an exzellent Mini-Bar for reasonable prices and free soft drinks and as mentioned from other travelers. Some small free bites and fruits executive-floor style in the lobby at the afternoon. (I loved the ice-tee! ) we usually stay in the big chain Hotels as frequent travelers. But if we return to Madrid we will most likely stay here again.
Great location, intimate setting, great tapas/yogurt/fresh fruit/nespresso coffee available every day from 1:00PM to midnight! Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and quiet yet 10 minutes from all major attractions. Great restaurants nearby.
Absolutley loved this hotel ”
Staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Clean hotel, cool in the heat, excellent location near Retriro Park and museums. Complimentary snacks and soft drinks in the afternoon. We will definitely return.
Fantastic Hotel & Superb Staff”
Our stay was excellent. What stood out was the absolute excellence of the staff who were amongst the nicest 7 most professional I have met and that is saying something as I have travelled a lot for both work and pleasure. this applied to all staff so the standrad was excellent across the board! Well done !
A gem, close to everything!”
It is close to everything and the staff was so helpful with booking events for us and with guidance in general. Special thanks to the front desk. My father and I had a wonderful stay and we highly, highly recommend this place! The room was beautiful and very comfortable. It was in a very safe area and a short walking distance to numerous tourist and local spots, wonderful restaurants, markets and flamenco shows.
Short stay in a great city. ”
Standard small European rooms, but well appointed. Good shower. Wifi fine but signed out quickly. Staff made all the difference- we have re-booked for our next visit! Also, many restaurant choices nearby, excellent museums 15 min. walk away, as well as the beautiful Retiro.
Comfortable hotel in central location”
I had a good stay at the Catalonia Las Cortes. There were some problems with the wifi during my stay but apparently they were transitioning to a new system. Otherwise has everything you need and in a great spot for exploring Centro and Chueca.
Good location Helpful staff advised us on all our questions and requests Clean rooms with good temperature over winter Towel/clothes heating in toilet Quiet rooms gave a good nights rest Good breakfast buffet spread for a good price
clean quiet hotel in the middle of the action”
CLCH is a smart, clean and quiet hotel within spitting distance of Plaza de Santa Anna. The saff were friendly and helpful - sorted me out with print offs of train timetables and other information. Room and bathroom were all good and to our surprise no noises from the local night life to keep you awake. Try out the Mercado de San Migel near Plaza Major. It is a gastronomic treat!
Great hotel in nice location”
The location is very nice on a quiet street. Many restaurants and tapas bars are all within walking distance (ask the staff for recommendations) Staff were friendly and put up with my many queries on attractions and directions. Overall, a great stay.
Beautiful hotel, friendly service, great location”
We had a great four-night stay at the Catalonia Las Cortes Hotel. All the staff members we encountered were friendly throughout our stay. The hotel itself does a great job in combining historical elements of the building (natural wood stairwell and flooring) with modern amenities (individual room-controlled heating & AC; wonderful and spacious bathroom that includes a shower room and separate tub). Although our room featured a balcony with a street view, the double-doors kept any noise from entering our room. The location is also great, as it is an easy walk to the Prado, the Reina Sofia, Puerta del Sol, and all of the great bars and restaurants in between.
