There are many many mosquitos in the room
Once a five star resort”
There are 5 stars on the plaque above the front desk, but this is a 5 star place on paper only. Some 10 years ago this was most probably a luxurious place but since then it has fallen. That being said, for the price you pay for it, it’s good! The hotel is clean, there are pools and two restaurants that have okay food and aren’t expensive. Secure parking is available for 25 LE a day. Downside is that it’s a taxi ride from everything else. The taxi fare to nearest metro stop is about 50 LE and the metro to downtown will take about half an hour. Close to the pyramids if you want a place to live when visiting them.
Disappointed, will not recommend this place for a stay in Egypt”
We book cataract resorts cuz of the pictures posted. But when we reached in our room, its really disappointing. The room is quite big yes but the air-con is not cooling, bathroom is flooding every time we take a bath. Mosquito is too much during night thats why we cant rest. Facilities are old and the place is dusty. Location is too far from the tourist spots which is normal in Egypt thats why its better to use uber than taxi cuz it will cost u more if u will grab a taxi. I will not recommend this place. The price is fine if u will book in agoda cuz its cheaper compared to walking in in their counter.
worst hotel ”
at the beginning you will meet very bad rude staff at reception. they don't accept any booking from any site and you have to pay again for them rooms are horrible dirty old without any facility really really I dont recommend for any one to even try that hotel keep away
Not worth it”
Fell very short of expectations”
i had high hopes for this hotel judging by the pictures of it on the net, but in reality it wasn't so great. i found the reception staff to be ranging from apathetic to a little rude, and the room i was put in looked nothing like the room on their website - old furniture, two single beds pushed together etc. water is normally 3 egyptian pounds, and they charged me 15 which was ridiculous. the pool was extremely overcrowded and for some bizarre, unknown reason, they got an dj to blast music at the top of it's range across the entire pool area - which is where people usually go to relax! then a bunch of people dressed up like disney characters and on stilts came out, causing all the children to scream and yell. it became very frustrating. the pool had a film of bubbly frothy unknown substance around the edges, which made me feel really uncomfortable. there was no wifi at all the entire time i stayed, which was extremely frustrating. i got ripped to shreds by mosquitos in the foyer, and when i tried to buy some deet from the gift shop, he quoted me 5 times the price of a bottle at any pharmacy! eventually i was moved to another 'standard' room, much nicer, but still average compared to the photos. this place needs to rethink what sort of hotel it wants to be and who it wants to cater to, modernise and get the wifi working. im unsure why we have to go through metal detectors to get in and out of the hotel as well, they were going off constantly anyway as everyone had metal in their bags!
Cataract Pyramids Resort”
every thing was ok, good food , good Location , good staff, good
Nice hotel problem with hot water”
Our stay was good, room ok,
Nicely furnished, convenient location,helpful staff,
the hotel is a nice relaxing hotel that takes you out from the noise and crowd of Cairo - without travelling for hundreds of kilometers
Third stay in 2 months”
three times a good choice to stay in a hotel that gives you the emenities after your exhausting activities in cairo. the pool and lushy garden let you forget about stress ....customers are local and international mix, many spanish and asians - enjoyable
Usually the photos taken from the hotels for catalogues are beautified - in this case you are absolutely convinced by the real view. It is amazing to stay at the pool after coming back from cairo hotchpotch. It is located in Giza close to the ring road, which is connecting you to all areas easily ....
Lovelz, quiet hotel”
it was a pleasure to stay in zour hotel. we were watching an egytian traditional wedding, which was celebrated in the ballroom. The hotel has some "belle epoque" atmosphere.
my Holiday in catarct Hotel in Egypt”
The service is not good Security were taking me money so I can enter what I am buying from the market's Clothing I told the hotel for this problem, but I felt they do not care about
5 stars? Really?”
I knew, from reading reviews about this hotel prior to booking one night there for my family, that this was not really a five star resort. The price wasn't commensurate with that of the other five-start hotels in Cairo, and despite some other poor reviews, I figured that even a not-so-nice five star resort was better than staying in a 4-star hotel for the same price. In the end, I was probably wrong. We arrived at the evening, and under the cover of darkness, the resort looked beautiful. Nobody came out to collect our bags upon arrival. In fact, nobody was around to even raise the arm for the gate to let our taxi into the hotel. I had to get out and do it myself. Not a great sign, although nothing that worried me too much. When we arrived at our room, my wife and I both noted that it seemed like we had traveled back in time to the early 1970s. The room hadn't had a legitimate update since then. Paint cracked on the walls, furniture was all old and musty. Mosquitoes were EVERYWHERE. We killed at least 30 in the two hours we were awake before going to bed, and that didn't save me from having to listen to a high-pitched whine in my ear throughout the night. There was hair in the bathtub, all the fixtures were rusty, there were cigarettes in the toilet. I tried to throw a tissue away and the top just fell off of the trashcan. We asked for a crib for our baby boy, and they brought a rickety old wooden contraption that was one decent bump away from just falling apart completely. All in all, the place just felt old and dirty, as if the resort may have been nice when it was first built but then whoever owns it decided to never put money into it again, aside from slapping a cheap coat of pain on the walls every decade or so. All in all, the place was a dump.
