Basic Accommodation ”

Catimor is very near to Ijen crater. Very convenient especially when you need to wake early to see the blue flame in Ijen. However, there is not much nearby. You have to buy your necessity before getting here. No choice but to have dinner at the hotel. No amenities are provided, so you have to bring your own shampoo etc. Hot shower is available & working fine. There is a small hotspring pool at the hotel. Room design is kind of weird, the sink is in the bedroom itself. Staff are not that friendly.

Avoid If you Can”

Our stay at Catimor Hotel was ruined by the rude, unhelpful and deceitful staff. Naturally we booked this place for a base to see the volcano. The room itself was ok but the staff let the hotel down by being incredibly rude and providing us with false information in order to extract more money from us. Be aware (as the hotel staff may tell you otherwise) you can only access the volcano from 1am-12pm midday! The hotel is clearly supplied with a constant stream of clients from the packaged tours. I believe this has lead the staff to become complacent and indifferent to their customer's experience.

Staff, close to Ijen, beautiful location

We enjoy our stay because we bonded with the staff and had fun with them. The food and room are over priced. Nice to pass by but just for a night. Big make over is well needed.

hotel near Ijen for short stay”

It might be a only hotel available near Ijen. From there, it takes around 30 mins by car/van to the entrance. The hotel is old and unique like its built 100 years ago and been through many renovation. No fan, air condition or heater in the room but blanket was provided. The room we booked had only one socket. Overall, its okay for short stay before hiking to Ijen crater.

Bad experience”

We had bad experience w this property.when we check in the lady at counter told us hotel only has one record for my booking. I hv booked a superior n superior package. Was told only has record for superior which cost around sgd60. Hotel did offer others room which seems like their home which I rejected. The condition is awful n dirty. We hv no choice which paid idr100k for a queen bed to squeeze into the superior room w 6 of us. The lady ask me to check w agoda who In charge of this booking at the hotel but the line is not able to get through. We hv no choice to accept the offer. I felt cheated as return back to sg n called agoda. The hotel property charged the higher rate which is sgd167 for such a room n refuse to refund the other room. The hotel take advantage on the traveller who has no other choices at this circumstances.

A éviter!
