The resort is amazing. We stayed in the Water villa and the sound of the waves at night was enough to send me to sleep in a minute . It was so relaxing. The staff were exceptional. I could not rate the attention to detail enough. The food was beautiful with a mix of pasta, pizza and Filipino food. It was beautiful. I would highly recommend the Cauayan Resort and the next time I'm in the Philippines. I will be back. Thank you guys for making it so memorable. We also booked a Big Lagoon excursion which was pricey but had a lovely lunch and the boat to ourselves. It was worth it
Dear Scott, Thank you for taking the time to write us an incredible review. We are happy to know that you have enjoyed your stay with us. We hope to welcome you again soon.
The Cauayan certainly has a presence, from the very beginning you are picked up in an airport shuttle that exceeds expectations. From there a boat transfer is even luxurious with a cold towel on ice. You then arrive at the lobby where an orientation takes place and provide you a complimentary drink. We stayed in one of the beach front properties and although the prices were no different than LA or NYC, they most certainly made you feel beyond welcome! Leaving was the saddest, but certainly make sure you take advantage of one of the most beautiful sunrises and the spa. This luxury hotel was so accommodating.
Dear Gerald, Thank you for taking the time to write us a very detailed feedback. We are glad to know that you have enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you again for choosing Cauayan Island Resort and we hope to see you again.
Picturesque views ”
The views are lovely. There’s a lack of water activities. The Internet connection was pain in the ass and no mobile network signal. They only have one restaurant that’s serves all day dining. Bar was boring they should have some entertainment. I wouldn’t stay there for more than 2 nights as it gets boring for me. But staff were great and helpful.
Thank you Norminda for your feedback and we appreciate your score.
A wonderful experience”
We came last May to this splendid resort as a portion of our honeymoon in the Philippines. We deeply enjoyed the large and comfy cottage on the beach, the small attentions waiting for us to come back to the room and the quality of the staff. Our only regret was to leave at the end of our stay!
Dear Cyril, we are so pleased that you had a great stay with us. Thank you for the feedback, we really appreciate it. See you again at the island in one of your wedding anniversaries. Merci beaucoup!
Amazing place! ”
Speechless... The place located on a private island. We stayed 2 nights on villa water which had an incredible view of the lagoon, they thought about everything until the smallest details! Cleaning the rooms and the accessories, the food in the restaurant, the hotel staff and the personal attention to the hotel facilities and the highest level attractions! At the hotel you can meet beach turtles and whale sharks while making massage, the hotel maintains a perfect balance between nature and the luxury it offers!
Thank you Orly for your review, we really appreciate it. We look forward to serving you again at the island!
For people who want to unplug, relax and feel at one with nature. Amazing snorkelling (try kayaking around different parts of the island! Saw a turtle and it swam up to us), food, people, spa and atmosphere! We will definitely be back!
Dear Ann, Thank you for staying with us and we are happy that you had a great time at the island. We hope to see again soon. Maraming Salamat!
We stayed on the above water villa, very nice (although took me a while to figure out the shower nobs). Room was very nice, big comfortable bed, clean. Location is unbelievable, so beautiful! Spa was great and diving in around the caves a fantastic experience. Restaurant food was varied but consistently good, wait staff friendly and engaging. Highly recommend.
Dear Chris, Thank you for the great review and recommendation. We are glad to know that you have enjoyed your stay with us, we hope to see you again.
Escape from messy life ”
This resort is a perfect place that escaping from all the things bothering you all day. Beautiful sightseeings, nice beach, foods are more than expectation. But if you are a 3C heavy user, the wifi will let you down. To me use wifi at these wonderful soundings is kind of waste.
Thanks Hung for your comments, we appreciate it. See you again at the island!
Excellent resort with hospitable staff”
Great pickup and checkout back to main island. Great food and environmentally responsible. Sea turtles keep coming back to lay eggs. Very natural and green compared to other resorts. Can see sunrise and sunset in a guided tour. Awesome experience when clear skies. Delicious food from kitchen. Only 15 minutes speedboat from El Nido port.
Dear Pius, We are glad that you have enjoyed your stay with us, thank you for coming over. Please visit us again. Salamat!
Fantastic birthday stay ”
Fantastic remote island! Lovely for a few nights to get away from hectic life! The staff are extremely friendly and accomodate to all of our needs. When first arriving at island it is breath taking the scenery and beach are out of this world, and the trek to the top is a must! Although just the one restaurant here, the food was excellant, a good price for the quality in comparison to Perth (AUS) prices...The tuna steak was delicious about $21 (aud).Sometimes they may run out of one or two dishes but what do you expect staying in a remote island! Our room was lovely and clean and although we stayed when there was a typhoon they gave us a USB with hundreds of decent popular films to watch! Every evening they knock on our door with a sample of a local delicacy, which is a nice touch before evening meal. The only downside is there are 5 taps for the shower/bath which can be quite complicating at times! Also if you are into fitness the gym is very small and could do with updating equipment.
Dear Stephanie, Thank you for your warm comments and detailed review, we take note. See you again soon. Cheers!
Honeymoon Bliss ”
Fabulous experience from start to finish! We were picked up from El Nido airport via van & taken to the resorts private boat. From there we took the 15 min boat ride to the resort island. Would highly reccomend the beach front villas as they catch the breeze from the sea. All food & options were great, fab cocktails & drinks. Service from all staff was second to none! Would highly recommend this resort as it truly is paradise!
Dear Suzanne, thank you for staying with us recently and for your review. We are glad that you had a great experience at the island. We look forward to serving you again in the near future!
Perfect resort to wind down and relax in. ”
We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff and service are great and we had a beach front villa that we thought was good value for money and in a great part of the resort. The food and drinks are good quality and reasonably priced considering the type of resort and that you aren't able to shop around. Snorkelling from the beach is good, we saw a good variety of sea life including baby sharks, although you have to time your swims carefully as at low tide it is very shallow. This resort is great for switching off in, as you'll see from other reviews the wifi isn't great so if you need to stay connected you'll need a plan B. It was fine for social media, but I struggled to get a Banking App to work. The pool is good, towels and drinks service all work well and we found the staff throughout our stay to be really attentive. We paid a bit extra to have a private tour of the archipelago and again felt is was really good value for money, we got to see some great spots without loads of tourists
Thank you Catherine for your great feedback, we really appreciate it. We look forward to welcoming you again in the near future!
What a stunning place! ”
This place is more than you can hope for if you're looking for a nice couple of relaxing days on your own little island with water activities, board games, massage, bar it's really quite stunning. Hard to stay and also visit the mainland as the boat shuttles end quite early. So once you're on the island you might as well make the most of it while you're there and then stay in el nido mainland for a couple of days to experience both parts of this wonderful place. But really this resort is truly picturesque.
Thank you Roya for your feedback, we appreciate it. Hope to see you again at the island!
We felt like we were so secluded on this private island. It was amazing! If you’re looking to unplug from the world, this is the right place to do it. Since their WiFi isn’t that great, they supply all their guests with so many other activities. It totally sparks romance if you’re traveling with your partner. Must do’s: 1. 530am Sunrise hike (take the hard trail) it’s thrilling, you have to climb up limestone rocks, but well worth it for the view. 2. Kayak to a small beach 15 min to the right of the resort. Snorkeling here is amazing too. You’ll be completely secluded on this beach over there it’s crazy! 3. Do any of theirisland tours Breakfast is included every morning of your stay, and it’s delicious! Choose anything off the menu that morning. You have to try the Cauayan Cooler ;) Dinner is impeccable and so fresh. Reccomend trying anything they catch fresh that day. Service is top notch and absolutely genuine. They want to help you and make your stay absolutely fabulous!
Dear Chrisette, We are glad that you have enjoyed the island and we really appreciate your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you again soon. Cheers!
The views are amazing, and the seclusion is nice. But there is almost nothing to do at the resort after 5. You can't leave the hotel except at the timings of the boat rides which are aligned with guests checking in and out. There would be no boats if there is no arrives or leaves the hotel on a specific day - unless you pay. Everything in the hotel is over priced, no pharmacy on island, and communication is very difficult. No phones and wifi is beyond terrible. They could easily set up a local network for the amounts of money they charge. Tours are very expensive in the hotel, and their gift shop. I think we bough a beach dress for about 60 dollars?! But the rooms are incredible, especially the mid water cottages - we loved that. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Dear John, Thank you for staying with us in your honeymoon, we are glad that you like the resort, villas and the amazing views. Regarding your comments: - We have daily boats for the arrivals and departures to the mainland, you can ride them free of charge. For special schedules, we also can provide it but with an additional cost. - We are located in a private island and we don't have pharmacy inside but our nurse has all the medicines needed for first aid. Any other additional medicines needed, can be provided from the town. - For the internet, we have a local network already working. Ou main problem is the connexion, because we are in an isolated area, we are using a satellite provider and is not stable all the time. We are looking on alternatives to improve it. We look forward to welcoming you again at the island in the near future.
How wonderful !!”
The location is wonderful!! I wanna go there again!
Dear Shoko, thank you for your feedback. We hope to welcome you again in our resort.
The staff, service, amenities and the whole itself is excellent! We would surely come back every penny is worth of the experiences we had... Family and friends have been asking about the place and our experience so expect more clients Cauayan!
Hi Maria, thank you for this great review and for choosing Cauayan Island Resort. We hope to welcome you again.
This place is paradise!”
I LOVE this island! Beautiful! Outstanding customer service, plenty of activities including snorkeling, kayaking, 2 hiking spots & other beach activities, saw a reef shark, delicious food, 10 min complimentary massage, all included! I stayed in the Lagoon Villa, love the privacy and location. Would definitely stay here again. Things I wish would change. I found some wash away garbage on the other beach, I kayaked over there, I wish they would maintain this part of the island as well, other than that, the whole resort was clean! Also I wish they had better internet. I would love for them to have a zip line, rock climbing, a swing and some poi fish in their pond. I heard there is a cave in the island too, wish they have it available to see! Overall this island and resort has a lot of potential. I love it and would highly recommend!
Hi John, thank you for this great review and for choosing Cauayan Island Resort. We hope to welcome you again.
THE GREAT STAY”
the cauayan resort is on it own island. the beach is all yours. the scenery is great all day long. what can this resort offer ? first of all calmness and good food. why good food? because on this island there is only source food. i didn't hate the food but to em it should be better so i would give it 6.5/10 the view and the view!! i have starred more than i could imagine. the swimming pool is infinite pool but i think its not fresh water(sweet water) there is some salt in the pool and in the bathroom water which is hardly noticed. they offer a guide to trek the 2 mountains surrounding the resort. and the best trip you can take is the island hopping. i loved my stay there except the room was too hot for me morning and night, yes there were an ac but it want cooling the room that i hated although they have provide me with an electrical fan to cool things a bit the service of the staff is great specially there manager mika. thank you cauayan resort
The villa is really nice, with the huge sofa outside for siesta and just watching the sea and enjoying the breeze; nice details inside the room-- the furniture in sturdy wood and capiz (?) shells, the high ceiling and glass walls, outside shower... Breakfast is nice with great view of the sea, great, friendly and cheerful staff, nice food and drink menu! Best calamari-- really soft and not rubbery.. Cons-- we were there mid January so the sea is not as calm as we expected so we did not manage to snorkel and kayak. But this is a minor setback-- we just enjoyed the infinity pool. The size was nice for doing laps. Best vacation ever!
