My wife, sister-in-law, and her niece, decided to check-in to this hotel for two reasons. The first was to cool down in their pool with the second being able to sleep in an air conditioned room as the days have really been hot. In that regard, we were satisfied. We chose the poolside room and it was not that expensive. The staff were very helpful. The only downside was that the chef was apparently not available so we had to order fast food for dinner. Still it was a good weekend stay.
friendly staff, easy check-in/out, clean, affordab”
Only one night, but VERY relaxing! Best one come with an own car/motor (free parking). Above the City, the air is cooler/fresher. There are many Oreganos (smells great!). Nice Pool-Area, rooms very OK.
A good place to relax”
The location may be that far for some because it is located in the hill side. It is 20 minutes away from the city. This place is ideal for those who wants to relax and get away with the city. The place is quiet and peaceful. I used their gym and pool all by myself as if it is my house.
Just not very good”
The owner and staff were accommodating but it's obvious the hotel is just half the business on site. There is a drug store out front and a large Smart cell tower directly adjacent to the rooms. Room isnt priced properly to compensate for this. Everything from the pool to the exercise area to the room fit and finish seemed to be an afterthought of more important businesses in the owner's portfolio. It does have the hottest shower available in the country and a good location nearby a bustling street market. I highly recommend the local surround and the Temple of Leah.
I love the location, near tourist attractions. The pool is a little bit dirty.
Cheap, run down and dirty”
Cheap, repairs needed, dirty shower, untidy property with litter and old garbage visible. Cook resigned so breakfast was the only meal available. Taxi difficult to obtain from the hotel due to the steep climb from the city center to the hotel
Perfect for our needs”
Great location with access to the US Consulate just a short taxi ride away. Restaurant was ok but undermanned and if cook not available there was no one available to fill in. This was tough when traveling with small children who required supper at a reasonable hour. Internet worked very well for the Philippines. Hotel housekeeping staff did not provide clean towels on a daily basis.Security personnel were very helpful in ways a concierge should be. I would definitely stay there again if needed a low price stay when doing business with the consulate so as not to pay the over priced room charges of the Waterfront.
I paid in advance for two nights. This place was so dirty, and as I was also sharing the room with a huge assortment of bugs, insects and mosquitoes, I forfeited what I had paid and checked into another hotel. This place is a dump.
Enjoyed my one night stay at this hotel. ”
A very relaxing getaway, very homey feeling with friendly and attentive staffs. Food is good at an affordable price. My room has a good mountain view and very clean. Wifi connection is excellent and with just a maximum of Php100 taxi fare, I can go shopping at Ayala or experience the nightlife @ Mango Square… Surely will be coming back to this hotel in my next visit.
nice relaxing place, korean lead”
- Check-In fast and easy - rooms clean and quiet - many TV channels, WiFi OK - restaurant OK, but some menues not available - a pharmacy is beside, they also sell drinks and snacks, but a little expensive - the pool area is nice lightened, there is also a small gym area - its a little far from everything, and Taxis show up seldom
Great location with swimming pool”
Foreigners come to Cebu and the first thing they notice is the incessant noise, and filthy air-pollution from domestic coal burning and auto diesel engines. At the top of the hill, this very inexpensive lodging is quiet, with relatively clean air. I don't like air-conditioning and leave the window open. Because it is high, the hotel normally has a cool breeze. There is flywire screen on the window to block mosquitoes. The hotel has a very clean pool, just big enough to enjoy a couple of strokes. The food is appalling in the restaurant. Don't eat there ! Even simple dishes taste disgusting. The very simple breakfast is ok. It's hard to stuff up frying an egg, though often the "toast" is only toasted on one side... :( Other Korean guests often leave their disgusting takeaway rubbish around the pool, and this is not cleaned up til 9am. I have stayed here for 2 weeks. Really convenient location to take 8 peso jeepney down the hill !
GOOD HOTEL, EXCELLENT SERVICE, RELAXING STAY,”
my stay was good, very relaxing ambiance, good staff, very friendly and hospitable. Restaurant food is good, fast service and very attentive. Wifi in public areas as well as inside the room is excellent. Highly recomme3nded for couples who wants get away with the stress in the city. Cheers to the management and staff for making our stay a truly memorable experience.
poor performance of restaurant inability to properly understand and take an order have stayed there before but wont stay ever again interesting location but have repeatedly had no hot water with excuses from manager poor quality restaurant without ability to understand english and properly and correctly fill an order from the menu even if the menu picture is pointed at will not ever reccomend to anyone or stay there again
A very disappointing hotel”
OK for 2 or 3 days. I booked 2 weeks..big mistake. The hotel looks OK from outside and reception, but central pool area is shabby, untidy and thoughtless layout. It looks more like 18 years than 18 months old. Guests were heavy smokers and ashtrays were left unemptied. Also dirty plates and glasses were not cleared away all day from tables or passageways. The hotel photos are deceiving. The SKY LOUNGE was never open and the room photos are on upper level so you can see a view. There is NO mountain view unless you have a first floor de-luxe room. I had a poolside room which had no view to the pool and the window looked onto a 2m concrete wall topped with barbed wire. The room has no shelf or drawer space and the closet is an empty space with a hanging rail, not deep enough for a coat hanger!. The room was clean enough although you need to book a room cleaning service, or you do it yourself. There are no local amenities, only 'shack shops'. It is hard to get a taxi into town (best get a jeepney to JY Plaza first). Be prepared for a taxi to charge a premium on top of meter to take you back to up the hill to the hotel. I arrived late at the airport and the taxi wanted 1000 peso for a 300 peso metered trip. The hotel is quiet enough, the food was OK and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, but the management are sloppy for not ensuring tidiness in the public areas. It is a Korean/Filipino fusion, which is not mentioned in the hotel details. I will not be going back.
Cebu Hilltop Hotel, Relaxing and Romantic it is.”
This hotel is such an amazing one among the hotels at the heart of Cebu. It is easy to locate though it's on top of the hill, since, even when you take a cab, everyone knows it coz there's no other known hilltop hotel in City. It's view is one of the highlight especially during night time when city lights are flashing to their very much appreciative brightness. This is perfect also for honeymoons. Such a wonderful place.
Quite and comfortable hotel”
I was very happy with my stay at the hotel. The staff were all friendly and went out of there way to make me feel at home. The pool was a plus for a relaxing afternoon. I would recommend the hotel to friends and will stay again on my next visit to Cebu.
iNTERESTING AT BEST”
I booked this hotel based on the advice/suggestion of a longtime friend who apparently did not investigate it very well. This hotel is in essence a short time hotel for some clientele. I discovered upon checkin that the signage outside the hotel was in many ways misleading. They advertise a convenience store , a nightclub and other amenities only to discover that none of those businesses were operational at least during my stay. The hotel is located on a hill (thus the name) pretty far from city center making the hike to the malls, restos and nightlife a daily grind. Ultimately I stayed about 3 nights and for about $247 I think the hotel experience was overpriced and failed to deliver quality.
very nice hotel, with great view and fresh air”
It was such a very good and relaxing stay. We enjoyed their acoustic nights @ d'poolside and also at their Sky Lounge with some drinks while trying out their free ktv for guests. Standard room is very spacious and clean, CR is good at a very cheap price. Definitely my ideal hotel. Certainly coming back on my next visit in Cebu
The hotel is a nice budget hotel. ”
My overall experience was nice. The staff where all very friendly to me and this was not my first time staying in this hotel. My only concern is that the karaoke restaurant that they have played very loud music that was eventually the reason I didn't get to sleep well.
Convenient, Quiet, Don't Expect much for the Price”
Stay was not bad. Room had proper amenities. The aircon was cool and the room was functional enough in terms of size and layout. Being near the pool was an added bonus. Breakfast was bad. Lunch was also a bad decision. Food service needs a lot of work.
