Great value. Clean, chic and comfortable.”
The location is a bit difficult to find (for me at least). Because I arrived in Auckland at the Pier and the Google Map said it's just 700m away (a bit too near to cab), but it wasn't easy to locate because the building is narrow and is located on a slight upslope. If one takes a taxi, it might be a lot easier and will arrive right at the doorstep. The hotel has no free wi-fi (like many hotels in Auckland). BUT, unlike other hotels in Auckland, the charges for Internet is relatively reasonable. I was happy to pay the amount for 24 hours of internet access. Do note however, even if you pay for your internet access, you're only able to use the connection within the wireless router coverage in the room. When I got to the lobby, I asked the front desk, how do I access the Internet I paid for, she said it is not possible. I would have to go back to my room. Funny system. The location is at least 10 minutes walk to Queen Street. So be prepared to walk a little bit. I think overall, the Celestion Waldorf is an exceptional value for money. It's clean, chic and really uplifting interior was the best accommodation experience I had while holidaying in Auckland at that price. Would recommend others to stay here again.
Nice place to stay”
The place is nice, location is near city center, wharf and auckland university. Place is cozy, although it is advertised that the room has washing machine, our room did not, but they do have a laundry area 24 hours at the 2nd floor, but you have to buy the tokens before reception closes at 10pm. parking was hard and have to be reserved before hand. overall, we do love to come back here if ever we visit auckland again.
The apartment was generally more spacious than I could think of. Took a while to find it since I'm not that familiar with Auckland city. But the staff was kind enough to clarify things to me. Pro: 1.Clean 2. Spacious room 3. Good amenities 4. Helpful staff Cons: 1. Parking -limited turn around space with weird road flows and packed up with cars We took quite a while sorting out how to park well in that limited space without hitting all the structural pillar and I can see why we need to make a special reservation for it. But overall it was an enjoyable stay. It's big room with everything you need inside.
Modern, Tidy rooms with everything you need”
We had a lovely stay while we were in Auckland thanks to some fantastic service and eagerness to please from there handy staff.. Having arrived into Auckland around 7am from an early international flight we were offered an early checkin without asking and then a free upgrade regardless of the hotel being 97% full according to the staff. That shows they really place there guests 1st. Room size was mid range but everything was new and comfortable and the bathroom and kitchen were both nice. Will be back
Good value, clean, strategic and nice apartment. ”
Our stay was memorable and wonderful in this clean apartment equipped with all the basic facilities for cooking. I would definitely recommend this affordable apartment to those who want visit the beautiful city of Auckland. It is located in the heart of the Auckland City within the walking distance of the busy Queen street for shopping.
The Celestian Waldorf apartments were very well located to the centre of Auckland. Close to supermarket, restaurants, buses and trains. Staff were all very helpful. The apartment was clean and had all we needed. It was very busy as the World Masters Games was running, which was the reason for our visit. Great Indian restaurant located on the ground floor of the Apartments. Only downsides were that we were on the first floor facing the street, so it was quite noisy and l am not a smoker and the awning which extended from our balcony was full of cigarette buts. Also our main light in the lounge room didn't work but we were able to get by without. We would definitely stay there again next time we go to Auckland
Very good rooms and good service”
overall this hotel is a bargain for the price if you are looking for a good room only. i took the room on a review which mentioned the most comfortable bed ever and it wasn't far wrong. upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment with balcony and full kitchen with fridge the decor was a bit dingy though clean, had lots of windows and king size beds had fresh white quality linen. it's positioned slightly downtown in auckland city, surrounded by chinatown-style restaraunts and only a few minutes walk from high st and the city centre. the hotel didn't have any in-house facilities apart from a bar which i didn't see anyone in, apparently there is a gym about a block away? it would have been good if there was a cafe nearby as there isn't much food in the immediate area. the only complaint with service was although i didn't answer when they called to clean my room they didn't come back to check. apart from that the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. for the price, highly recommended.
It was excellent and convenient”
I was pleasently surprised at the modern feel of the apartment, it had all gear required for a short or long stay in the city. My key didn't work a few times but a trip down to the front desk fixed that. I would definitely recommend this place to any associates, friends who are looking for an apartment over a conventional hotel room. I will definitely be back next year for the Auckland nines with a handful of my mates and staying at this establishment.
Fantastic find in the Auckland CBD”
This is such a great little hotel/apartment find. i've stayed in a lot of central Auckland hotels, and this feels like more of a home. If you're home was a chicly decorated, modern apartment. It's more spacious than a traditional hotel room, with comfy beds and couches, a kitchen with everything you need and even a deck. There is some traffic noise - but I travel with earplugs at all times anyway, so was unaffected. The only thing I'd wish for is a bath! But I was super impressed with this place overall, especially for the price, and would stay again. It's within easy walking distance of the CBD, restaurants, bars etc.
Large Family Friendly Unit”
We had a great stay at Celestion Waldorf Apartments, Auckland. The room was a two bed apartment with ample living space of kitchen, dining and lounge. Beds were comfortable and room was quiet.
Very modern, clean and central”
We stayed at the celestial Waldorf on a brief stop through Auckland and found it very convenient. The kitchen meant we could have dinner and breakfast in the room for the kids but it was central enough to go sightseeing right outside the door. Our suite had a lovely view do the docks and Auckland CBS and was furnished nicely. We were also happy with the price given it was a 2 bedroom apartment.
Nice service apartment”
Celestion Waldorf is located in the cbd area, lots of restaurants, and very near to the city center, wharf and supermarkets. but the traffic can be very bad during rush hour. the room is very well furnished and comfort. they also give free wifi, the only problem in the big city is the parking fee.
Pretty Amazing but not without issues”
I booked a single room and asked for a view and they gave me a huge gorgeous 2 bedroom suite on the 14 floor. The rooms were well prepared with nice sheets and towels, etc. However, the (huge, amazing) balcony was extremely dirty - black, urban dirt. Generally my impression of of Celestion Waldorf from my 4 night stay is extremely positive and I would consider staying there again. It was great to be able to walk to the city center or the sea in 2 minutes, and there was a huge Countdown grocery store just around the corner. But, like most hotels in NZ, there was no free wifi in the room. Instead there is a pay-per GB service, from which I purchased a 4 GB/ 7-day package for 30$, which mysteriously ran out after 1.7 GB, with no recourse whatsoever. The staff refused to assist in any way, only saying that the service was not under their control, and that they could send an email to the provider but no idea of when the response would come. No response came, and the 30$ was charged to my room bill. So - a rip off. There was no way for me to contact the provider, no service to monitor data usage, etc. I really felt it was a scam. Small, but still soured the stay somewhat. Other than this, I would recommend the hotel.
Recommended by a weary traveller”
The Celestion Waldorf on Anzac Avenue is like a Tardis... Far bigger on the inside that you would think from the outside! Our room, a 2-bed apartment was generously sized, well equipped, comfortable and with its own balcony. Of all the places my daughter and I stayed in during our travels together, this was by far the best. There was a fully equipped kitchenette, dining area, study area, a bathroom complete with a very efficient washing machine (dryers available on a lower floor), two large bedrooms with king size beds and plenty of wardrobe space and mirrors, and a comfortable lounge are as well as the balcony I have already mentioned. My only quibble was a tv system fault which took over 24 hours to fix. I would recommend this hotel without reservation and would be delighted to stay there again.
Comfortable, fun and relaxing”
We definitely enjoyed our stay at the Celestion Waldorf Apartments as we were looking just for a quick hassle free get away which we got. I love the privacy of the balcony and feeling like we have our own space in what is essentially a big hotel. Often you can feel cramped in other hotels however this was not the case with Waldorf. Definitely our go to hotel in the city!
Very Nice Hotel, Conveniently Located”
We were upgraded to a two bedroom apartment, so that we used one bedroom for storing our luggage. The rooms were modern; the kitchen was well equipped, and the apartment was very clean. The hotel is conveniently located, a few blocks from a large supermarket in one direction and from the Auckland ferry terminal in another.
Great Apartment in Great Location!”
we stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment together with another couple, the apartment is very modern, shower is huge and both bedrooms had balconies - one of them large enough for the four of us to sit and have a drink in the evening (bottle shop is just 3 doors down). it is within walking distance to everything, queen street, harbourfront and countdown (huge supermarket), there are several restaurants a few steps away. great value for money too! would stay again next time i am in auckland!
Very modern, good location”
Stayed for one night on a recent trip to Auckland with my mom. The hotel is in a great location if you want to be close to the harbor. We had a two bedroom apartment which was amazing. I wouldn't have minded staying an extra night. It was a bit noisy on the streets so I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone who is a light sleeper. We had a rental car and parking was not very convenient and cost $15 per day (that's probably the going rate for the area though). Also, didn't realize checkout time was 10AM and felt like the staff sort of reprimanded us for not being out on time, then charged us a late checkout fee in addition (sorry but noon is the normal time in the states, and if you're going to charge us the late checkout fee, don't get on to us as well.)
We were only in Auckland for one quick night but this hotel offered a good location for a great price to do as much sightseeing in the central part of the city.
Very enjoyable centra city stay”
We enjoyed our stay at the Celestion Apartments. We had a family room with 2 bedrooms and this was clean and had all the facilities we needed. I thought the price was spot on for a hotel nice and central to all the city has to offer.
