Honestly this hotel location is absolutely great and very friendly staffs , spacious clean rooms , very well maintained hotel and pool , you should reach hotel by hotel boat ( 24 hours free service ) it’s takes 1 min to reach the by boat , Kids zone is really unique , my kids enjoyed very well it’s free for hotel guests too Absolutely foods , location, atmosphere, staffs great , definitely recommend to all and I’ll visit again. Water sports available in side of hotel, Jetski ride they charging 5500/- for 15 mins , boat safari 3000/- ( for all family ) They can arrange paramotoring too 100% me and my family enjoyed

Good place to be with your family. Entrance was jammed as one staff serving, also the restaurant lack of staff may be due to the pandemic. Otherwise all good.

Relaxing ”
Enjoyed our last night in Sri Lanka. After touring from Colombo, Sirigiya, Kandy, Galle and final destination Bentota. Our room boy Sugath was very thorough and made sure the room was clean and of a high standard. We had a riverview deluxe, so you could enjoy watching the water sports whilst relaxing on the balcony. Location couldn't be better. A quick boat trip across river and away from the hustler and bustle. We enjoyed the Mediterranean buffet dinner night. Price was 3000LKR per person, which I thought was reasonably priced. Everynight there is a different option, Sri Lankan, BBQ, Western, Asian etc.. There were 2 other restaurants for dinner as well, Thai or Al la carte. There are daily activities for everyone, if you want to participate. Didn't use the spa facilities, but the prices are higher than you would expect to pay in Australia or Indonesia. Pool area may seem overcrowded to some, but you'll expect that when it's so hot. Overall we would of loved to have stayed one more night

Centara is Sri Lanka was ok. The pool is too crowded, despite being lovely and huge. The problem could be rectified by keeping it open a bit later, when adults like to swim. The kids run the place... Some staff were exemplary and some needed an attitude adjustment and proper training. The location on Ventura Beach is amazing. We loved the beach and easy access to town! It is worth the price to stay there. Good food and excellent attention from the Thai chefs. Thank you for a good stay.

We arrived early afternoon after a long drive and I was pleased to see the nice lobby and quickly disappointed when I realized it was not air conditioned and no fans. To top it off the mosquitoes bit me while I waited for my room! The welcoming drink was warm too :( The reception staff were very helpful and gave us our room in a fairly short time. Our family suite room was spacious and well furnished. We had mosquitoes in the room and we all got horribly bitten. The next day I complained and they plugged in a couple of bug repellents and that helped some. Cafe Bem offers a buffet and a la carte dinner, very tasty food but no fresh milk. I will add that the a/c is kept warm so you're eating while you're sweating and being eaten by mosquitoes. I went through 2 bottles of deet bug repellent during my 5 night stay in Centara. Two of these days were dry days, no alcohol. I wished I had been informed of this prior to my stay so I could've been prepared ;) The pool and the beach access were very nice and clean. The spa was nice. I got three massages. One massage was wonderful and the second day's massages with another girl were just average good. The hotel is close to outside shops and trips. We visited the turtle conservation farm down the road and it was phenomenal! Taxis and tuk tuks are available outside the gate. The staff were nice and helpful. Checkout was a long wait. They have only one person tending to the many people checking out. Again, no a/c, no fans in a poorly ventilated area. Overall, it was a fairly nice stay. My sons 8 and 12 had fun at the pool and beach so they were very happy and exhausted.

Best location ever i have experienced!”
While enjoying free room upgrade from deluxe to one-bed suite we were enjoyed; 1. Pool games/ pool bar nice 3 hours spend (3pm-5.30pm) 2. Stunning river-side evening time spend (5.30-6.30 pm) 3. Superb dinner 4. Nice place to spend couple of hours in sea view balcony 5. Woke up at 6 am to Morning beach walk/ exercises 6. Both Sri Lankan and continental breakfast 7. Best time to go for a 1 hour boat ride to watch birds (less than 20 $ and available within the hotel premises) 8. If you are jet sky lover this is one of best place to rent a jet sky for 15 min for 25-30 $ 9. Banana boat , do-nut boat also available for cheap rates 10. Time is 12 pm :( Have to leave.... SEE YOU AGAIN CENTARA sandy Beach!!

Lovely location, too expensive”
Location is impeccable! Gorgeous beach which is clean and the ocean is warm. Food was delicious. Service was very slow despite the fact that servers were hustling. They appeared under staffed as servers would often apologize for slow service, stating, "sorry, we are very busy". We had a family room and the shower was not super clean. Grout looks old and shower faucet was peeling. Wooden floor looked old. The room had a comfortable bed and we slept well. We chose the half board plus which was a disappointment as the wine was terrible and cocktails were limited and very sweet. We have stayed at other centara hotels and greatly enjoyed "club" as nice wine was served with appetizers during the afternoon. The Ceysands version of this "halfboard plus" isn't nearly as enjoyable as beer was the only viable drink option and with a large meal, you wouldn't want more than a beer or two. Which means that it's more economical to simply purchase your drinks individually.

FANTASTIC LOCATION”
Spent 7 days at Centara and loved it, the staff were great very friendly and accommodating, the rooms were comfortable and clean, beds were the best to sleep on, the Buffet breakfast and Dinners were great too wide variety of food to cater for everyone and good quality food. The Pool was big and never seemed overcrowded even though the hotel was busy. all in all very happy would stay again.

Awful stay at Ceysands!”
I am a travel blogger and I visit many hotels across the world very frequent. I had a very disappointing stay at ceysand and I regret not booking Vivanta by taj bentota. Staff is not at all helpful. We reached at 3:20pm still there was no room to check in!! Then they gave some room saying its upgraded one than what we booked but it was awful! Then probably after 30mins they got a room for us on first floor which was ok to survive but no way a good one. AC of room was not working, fan regulator was not working fine. We called the reception for dental kit, it never came! Food is very expensive (like a medium chicken pizza costs 3400LKR) and limited choices. I simply didn't like the staff. Our driver told us that they do not give much attention for people who are their for short stay, which is weird. So if you are planning for a 2-3days stay, please avoid! In any case, I am never going to any centara again for life!

Nice hotel 4 star, but disturbing with all inclusive guest's. Restaurants are limited in performance, in each restaurant only 1 waiter with some experiences, all other staff have no education for the job, don't speak English , breakfast is the most disappointing you have to beg for a coffee and staff run's like uncontrolled chicken mostly to collect cutlery from guest's even if you still eating. The outside breakfast Terrasse is overflowed with birds which are jumping at the tables, steeling the food etc.. NO supervision at all !!! staff is mostly smiling, but it don't help to provide a good service. Food and drinks are limited and quite expensive, for a normal meal for two about 57 USD. Beruwala, Bentota and Ayurveda is very good, but we will not stay in a hotel like Centara anymore.

Benidorm comes to Sri Lanka...”
Wow. This was NOT what we expected. This is like Benidorm in Sri Lanka - with cheesy music blasting through the pool area, people doing aqua aerobics in the pool, daily games of waterpolo. It was so grim, we left after a day, even though we'd paid for 3. The hotel manager is nice and helpful, but there's absolutely nothing to do here. No town, no restaurants, nowhere to go. Much of Bentota consists of nice hotels/resorts, so this wouldn't necessarily prove an issue, but the Ceysands is bleak and we really didn't want to be stuck in the hotel every night with a chap playing acoustic guitar and crooning Englebert Humperdink tunes. If you like Benidorm, you'll love it. If you're looking for peace, quiet and a real slice of Sri Lanka - avoid like the plague.
