value for money if one likes old charm, great pool ans does not mind an older hotel”
Pool 3 Meter deep on one side Very friendly and helpful staff. Sometimes English could better Room large, a bit old-fashioned but good for the price paid. In some aspects however not a 4* property (anymore) Location near highway, big department store complex opposite

All-inclusive hotel, the only international standard hotel in Mae Sot”
Although there are many good quality hotels in Mae Sot, many of which are brand new, the Centara is the only international standard hotel in the whole city and probably the whole province, with the exception of the capital, Tak. This is because the hotel offers full facilities including buffet breakfast, lunch, dinner (2 restaurants), room service, a business centre, conference and event facilities, a pool and gym, a bellboy and numerous services such as massage, airport pickup/drop-off, a travel agency on site, gift shop and others. I have stayed at the Centara dozens of times in the last couple of years as I come up to Mae Sot for business multiple times per year. Although the hotel is showing it's age, the rooms are functional, the beds comfortable with nice soft mattresses allowing a comfortable night's sleep, the wifi is pretty OK these days and the breakfast buffet is pretty good too. I disagree with the reviewer that said the location is bad with no restaurants around. On the contrary. The city's largest shopping mall Robinson is located directly opposite the hotel, you can head out of the hotel, cross the road and you're there. Numerous restaurants, cafes and a food court are located there. For something more local, there are numerous restaurants located along the bypass road just after Robinson's too. Getting into town is greatly simplified with a car or motorcycle, it's only a 5-10 minute drive, though you could walk it in 20-30 mins. Apart from the market there is not a whole lot happening in downtown though, relatively few restaurants of note except for the consistently good western favorite, Krua Canadian. Aside from this you'll notice a lot of Burmese number plates during the day, as Burmese come across for shopping and trading their wares. The border crossing is the main crossing for overland travel to Myanmar and is one of the main reasons foreigners travel to Mae Sot these days.

Short stop over hotel ”
Hotel has a good swimming pool but limited meal options. Use the new Robinson store next to Hotel for meals and shopping. This is a convenient stop-over hotel for car travelers heading for Umphang.

Best pool in Mae Sot and great service”
After years of living in Mae Sot, this was my first time actually staying at Centara. I was happily surprised with the quality of room: comfortable and spotless and up-to-date, if not fancy. The pool is the highlight, with comfortable chairs, towels, and umbrellas on request. Service has always been excellent and friendly. The low point is the gym, which hasn't been updated or renovated in years; it really needs a tile floor rather than old carpet, and weight machines are ancient and barely functional. Treadmill is new-ish. In terms of location, you'll need a motorbike or hired car to get anywhere - it's out on the highway and not convenient to restaurants or shops.

Good for business trip”
We just there for couple day. The location is good for run around and get thing done in Mae Sot. Nice pool after your long and supper hot day. The room is too simply and the toilet is very noisy when the room next door used it.

Perfectly Satisfactory!”
We stopped here on our way from Sukhothai. The nice thing is that because it was a Centara it was a perfectly good hotel to stop over and explore the area. The breakfast was good (albeit the French Bread wasn't fresh) and had lots of variety and the pool and facilities were good. It is on the main road and perhaps away from more of the "local" areas, but it was fine for a family of 4 for one night.
