our stay at pacific sutera was very pleasant. the staff seemed quite tolerant of playful antics of our 12-year-old twins and their school friend who accompanied us on this pleasure trip. the food was outstanding and the views were simply stunning. if you like golf there's a 27-hole course adjacent to the hotel. there is also tennis, bowling and a variety of other facilities that we did not utilize, but are available to the guests. their pool is large and located right next to the beach. the location is great and only a 12rm taxi ride to downtown (wisma). the rooms were not abundantly spacious, but more than adequate for our needs as our kids had their separate room. we had an ocean view room which was well worth the nominal surcharge. indeed, our overall stay was very pleasant. the only negative worth commenting about has to do with the staff's lack of willingness to assist us with directions and give us ideas on which borneo tourist attractions to visit. we rented a car which clearly is in conflict with their revenue generating tour business at the hotel. as a consequence to this, we found them quick to recommend a tour, but quite reluctant to offer assistance if we were to 'go it' alone. it's only a slight negative when you consider that all businesses operate the same way in kota kinabalu when there exists this conflict of interest, such as the downtown scuba diving shop we used. overall however, it's a great place and well worth considering when you visit kk.

We stayed here on our last day in Kota Kinabalu after having to stay in a very busy and crowded area. I wish we had stayed here from day 1 of our trip! The view was beautiful, and all the friendly staff made us feel very welcome. My husband had accidentally left his phone in our room after we had checked out and left the hotel, but the housekeeping staff found it and we were able to get it back from the receptionist. Honestly the best hotel we've stayed at so far in KK and will definitely stay here again when we come back.

except one thing, the swimming pool. you are not allowed to swim after 7p.m.I dont see any solid reason why customers arent allowed to swim after 7p.m. the timing is not reasonable,maybe until midnight then still acceptable to me. still too early to forbid people from swimming by 7p.m. some customers are free after busy day during day time,so they might be free in the evening after 7pm.If its due to safety concern, then assign a lifeguard or more lighting as measure control,make people worth to pay for 5 star hotel,with all those previlage. No offend,however its just my opinion. thanks

The hotel is located in a very strategic area. It is situated in the central business district near restaurants, 24 hour convenience stores and right opposite a shopping complex. The Hard Rock Cafe is just down the road. The Filipino market and wet market are just a stone's throw away. The Gaya Sunday market is within walking distance. If any place is too far for walking, Grab cars are easily available and the Grabs arrive even before you know it. The triple sharing room we occupied had 3 nice single beds, was extremely clean, smelt fresh, had coffee/tea making facilities and an iron with a proper ironing board and the bathroom had adequate toilettries. The receptionists, housekeeping ladies and concierge were so friendly and efficient. We felt so at home that we were sad to leave for home. And the hotel rates are amazingly reasonable. We will definitely visit again.

Bad start as we weren't aware the hotel was making major renovations until we arrived- irritating ! Drilling and banging throughout breakfast not pleasant. On arrival we also discovered that the pool was being renovated - major let down as this was one of the key reasons we chose the hotel. Despite the negative start, within 5 mins of our arrival at the checkin counter we'd been upgraded to a Deluxe ocean view room and once the hotel informed us of their pool shuttle service to Le Meridien hotel pool (located a 10 min walk away on the same ocean front) we were reassured. The room was lovely - recently renovated, it was modern and chic, fabulous king size bed, big bay windows with lovely views which can also be seen from the bath tub. There are no balconies which is a pity but balconies don't appear to be prevalent in Borneo towns so no big deal. Buffet breakfast with lots of choice - western, asian plus unusual offers like French cheese and salad. Food ok. Hotel service was super efficient and charming - don't know how they managed it with all the banging and drilling going on. we came back to this hotel a week later and they remembered us - pretty impressive considering the number of rooms. We also got upgraded again to an equally lovely, bigger, club (club deluxe?) room. The lady at the business centre was really helpful and in fact source of a wealth of tourist info on top of her business centre title. There’s also a tourist counter in the hotel. Can't say for the restaurants as we didn't eat there apart from breakfast.

We really enjoyed our stay here in Hotel Grandis. I am glad I made the last minute decision to change hotels and choose Hotel Grandis. I really wanted my mom to enjoy her post-operation vacation. The hotel is at the 'end' of central Kota Kinabalu but the location is excellent. Given the small size of downtown KK, everything is of walking distance. Beside it is Suria Sabah mall which doesn't really offer much in terms of shopping but it was good nonetheless. The property is well-maintained and the staff (Nia stood out for me) are excellent. The room we had was quite spacious and had a tasteful design. The bathroom was quite spacious too. The roof top bar and pool are nice especially if you love sunsets as it gives you an unobstructed view of Kota Kinabalu's beautiful sunset. The gym is adequate. Good thing I opted to have breakfast included as their breakfast spread is quite decent. The Rosea Cafe also has a nice view, make sure you sit by the window. Their nasi lemak was pretty good. All in all, if I will visit KK again, I will definitely book Hotel Grandis. Highly recommended.

I've been visiting KK for several times because of work, but this is my first time I tried Le Meridien. Maybe due to better offers by other 5-star hotels perhaps. But I'd to say the moment I step into the lobby I was really impressed; this is how a 5-star hotel should be. The staffs are really helpful and awesomely friendly; even though I'm in a business suit they still treat me like I'm special. The room is spacious, tidy, plentiful of bottled water. Just a bit comment here; the TV remote's button is giving away perhaps, because I need to press it really hard for me to change the channel. And if you may, please provide a comb as well. The breakfast buffet also I can one of the best I had in hotels at KK. There are bountiful choices, the taste is good. I can't suggest for more; except more food here hahaha! Location wise, for me Le Meridien is located at the most strategic area in KK. Almost everything is within the walking distance. Overall, I'm really happy and impressed with Le Meridien. Definitely I'd recommend and would return again (if the offer is good hehe).

We stayed at Dreamtel from July 10-14. When I booked it, I knew the location was good from previous stays in Borneo. It is centrally located, and the things to do within the heart of the city are all within walking distance. If you want to get out of the city, the bus stop is right across the street. Prior to staying here, we stayed at two other places for about the same amount of money. This hotel was easily the nicest as compared to the other two. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in since leaving the U.S., and the continental breakfast (which I made sure I got) was one of the most varied I've seen. There was no way you couldn't find something that you'd want to eat for breakfast. To top it off the staff was always friendly, helpful, and professional. If/when we visit KK again, this hotel will be at the top of our list of places to stay.

The hotel is strategically located near shopping, business centre and the pier. It’s a nice new hotel with the best shower head! The bed is very comfortable and the room is nice . The view from the 25th floor is amazing and they have a nice reasonably priced restaurant up there. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, they helped us to book a Grab(Uber) to the airport and another place which saved us more than half of taxi price. The only criticism is the breakfast as the previous reviewer said that it’s not very appetising. Other than that it’s perfect

Water heater and aircond function well Cons: 1. The location is in the mall. Need to pay for parking fee (RM3 per hour) . For weekdays, they count RM3 from 6am until 6am tomorrow morning if you didnt go anywhere. For weekend RM3 per hour is applied. Please prepare your own parking payment 2. There are two type of klagan hotel. One at the busy town with free parking. And other one is klagan residence which is in the mall (KK time square) no free parking (the one i book is klagan residence) 3. There will be residence sty at the other floor. And the swimming pool is provided for residence not for the guest. 4. The toilet is clog but staff help to repair

actually this is the best choice hotel in sabah, kota kinabalu. the value of charge is worth as service and room is good. we can say is 3 stars charge but 5 stars hotel service and room design is modern and comfortable. also many restaurants around this hotel and the sunday market just infrant the street. only the problem is house keeping. the day we stay in excutive suite for business but early morning we go out and switch on the housekeeping light. till 2.25pm we back to hotel with many of my business friend for meeting in room but the room not serve yet. call to reception they mention today is fully booked will call to house keeping to solve the problem. when i go out the house keeping just near the lift to serve room, i asked them why early till now didn't serve my room? they reply as fully booked and aslo not friendly. i am angry to told them that we stay in excutive deluxe room, it is unfair for me and also i am no face as all my business friend go in to my room but room still not clean. actually this is the best hotel hope the manager can concern about this as fully booked is not a good reason to explain to the guset of this hotel.

Very convenient location and the staff are very friendly. Check in was very quick. We are very pleased that we are allowed to check in early – as we arrived in KK early morning from Shanghai. The hotel is centrally located and it was just next to Sabah Centrepoint and Warisan Square Mall. Also, just step out of the hotel’s main entrance is the Starbuck coffee shop. Across the street is the famous Waterfront Sea food restaurants and the Central Market. Unfortunately, the hotel’s toilet needs maintenance – the shower’s handle very loose and wall-papers outside/along the rooms are peeling – considering the hotel was opened two years ago. Sound proofing is not good. A bit noisy especially around 10 pm as shops was closing down.

Subjectively of course, and given the hotel rate this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in all my travels. Reception at the counter is excellent based on its star rating. Concierge attention is good. All other staff members were excellent. Location wise, just walk down the hotel and you have two eateries where you can enjoy a cuppa almost any time of the day. I had a very comfortable n relaxed two nights stay. Will return on the 13th August. Will recommend others.

First, the location is perfect, car rental is a must, 8-10mins drive to most of the wonderful restaurants in KK . Easy to order a Uber or Grab car, RM 4 to reach the popular restaurant 'Welcome Seafood'. Most importantly, the house is cosy and big and comfortable. The facilities are too good! We went swimming and exercising at 6th floor. Imago mall is also superb, KK best shopping place! We bought some beer and sausages downstairs, if you're interested you can get anything you want in the mall and to make yourself steamboat. I guess most of the guests did so! Nick is the best haha, we left our camera at his place, he found it and sent it back to us. And also his staffs they are too kind and patient to answer our requests. What a pity we didn't meet Nick during our trip. We recommend Nick's apartment for you, especially family trip.

the hotel is highly recommended for travelers with tight budget who would like to stay in a 3-star hotel. we only stayed in a standard room with no window at the 5th level and we found it satisfactory. its selling point is its location which just a walking distance to many shopping malls, restaurants/eateries and convenience stores. hotel staff especially in hunter’s pub is very hospitable and helpful. since we traveled on november, their year-end sale period, all shopping malls offer up to 70% discount. breakfast is good enough for its hotel package price of less than php2k/night for 2 pax if booked via agoda. many taxis around. we will definitely book at this hotel next year.

It's been some time since I set foot in Kota Kinabalu and hubby decided that we go on a spontaneous weekend trip (15-17 July 2011) with our 8-year old daughter and our best friends (a couple) who were on their first trip to East Malaysia. No mountaineering and far-away parks, just food and short getaways and relaxation kinda trip. Hubby has stayed in Beverly before for his business trips and suggested this hotel to us. I am in the travel industry myself and has never stayed at this hotel. My friend was having her birthday on a Saturday and I wanted everything to go right. I read reviews on this hotel all over the Net and also called the Hotel to find out more information and details before I decided to book online (ours was a package tied with Air Asia while I booked theirs through Agoda as there was a big sale on rooms at that time and they could not get the same rate at the same time when I booked ours). I can't believe the amazing staff that they have at Beverly. Firstly, our flight was arriving early at 1025 and I requested for an early check-in a few days before our departure. No hassles, agreed instantly! Then, I asked if their rooms really had a view as I read all the differing comments in here. Since it was my friend's birthday and their first visit to Sabah, I said it was ok that my room was without a view but theirs was with as I wanted them to have a nice experience. And views we both got! The sunset views from our rooms were quite spectacular, actually! Secondly, we were on the 11th Floor and our rooms were upgraded to Deluxe (mine) and Junior Suite (my friends) without any extra charges. Rooms were clean and spacious. Thirdly, our check-in upon arrival was done quickly and efficiently by Ms Ann Marie, she was so friendly and very informative too. Despite Beverly not located smack in the middle of town, we had our own transport to move around so it was easy. Do give them a try! It's nice to wake up to smiles daily!

Centrally located. Short walking distance to the Atkinson Clocktower, Australian Place, Marlin, Wisma Merdeka, Suriah Sabah. Kopitiams surrounding the hotel. Gaya morning market just in front of the hotel on Sundays. Basic room facilities (no fridge nor microwave oven), but room is clean. No English TV channels. Toilet bowl flush in room 302 needs to be fixed (flushing problem). Despite these, still great value for money. Mr. Yoong, the manager, was very helpful in booking our Kinabalu Tour. Thanks Mr. Yoong! KK people are generally nice and friendly. My friends and I had a wonderful stay. Will definitely book here if and when we visit KK again.

This hotel IS NEW, rooms was ok and very clean, all in the bathroom, no breakfast service, Wi-Fi super good, IS not located in chinatown but in the little India, location IS ok, nearest metro station and some little restaurants and chinatown market district, the staff and the owner IS a plus of this beautiful little charme hotel, they are so helpful and very very gentle! We love them!

Stayed for 2 nights at Loft E 2 bedroom apartment together with my friends. The place is big, clean, location is at the city center, nice view of the city/sea view, with internet access, and complete with kitchen tools. Hotel staff are good (Zur, Fina & Tiffany). However, there's a need to improve the reception/check-in of guests. The guests are required to call the staff to be able to check-in & get the access key. It's a big hassle for foreigner guests without roaming mobile phones. Our confirmed booking is at Loft A, unfortunately, the hotel staff told us we will transfer to Loft E, it's a big hassle to walk too far from Loft A to E, bringing our luggage. Need to inform the guest of the confirmed/final Loft reservations prior to check in at least a week before.

We loved our stay at TH Hotel! The staff everywhere was sweet and friendly and at the same time very professional. Receptionists gave accurate information about anything we asked about, and they gave us a free upgrade. The shuttle bus driver has been especially helpful and friendly. Farrah from the restaurant is a really sweet girl, and so was everyone else at the hotel. They were great company and made the stay much better. It is nice to be greeted with salam and a smile every all day long:) The best thing about the hotel is the Islamic features, for instance there were dua's in every relevant place in the room and an arrow showing Qibla. Furthermore the hotel is close to the beautiful Sabah State Mosque/Masjid Negeri, and close to the mosque there is market/center where all kinds of islamic things are sold (prayer mats, Hijab etc). We actually liked that the hotel was a bit far from the city center, as the city center is very noisy and stressful, while the hotel is calm and peaceful. Actually city center isn't that far away from the hotel, just about 30 minutes walk. Times Square with a lot of cafeterias, restaurant and shops and a supermarket is at a walking distance of just 10 minutes. Also there is shuttle service from 8-22 every second hour which makes it all easy. The rooms, the view and the bathroom (especially the shower) were great. We really think that the hotel deserves more stars. We hope to be back soon - we will always chose TH Hotels over other hotels in the future.

I just finished a weekend visit to Lintas View Hotel, it brings back great memories from when I first arrived in KK. This hotel is comfy with helpful staff and good sized rooms (I prefer the ones facing the driving range for the green view and amazing sunsets). Plus the community is a great place to explore from as it's not far to KK city by scooter, car or Uber but you have everything you need right nearby without going anywhere too. You've got delicious food options both morning and night, 24 hour convenience store, pharmacies, driving range, shopping all within walking distance. I highly recommend the A1 Chicken Rice shop nearby for some of the best Chicken Rice you'll get in the city (maybe anywhere). If you are looking for a good hotel with comfortable beds and good value, you can't go wrong with Lintas View Plaza --- we stayed in another hotel in the neighborhood first when we booked online but quickly realized that Lintas View Plaza was much better! Enjoy your stay!
