Where to stay in Central Business District
Central Business District hotels & accommodations

our stay at pacific sutera was very pleasant. the staff seemed quite tolerant of playful antics of our 12-year-old twins and their school friend who accompanied us on this pleasure trip. the food was outstanding and the views were simply stunning. if you like golf there's a 27-hole course adjacent to the hotel. there is also tennis, bowling and a variety of other f...

We stayed here on our last day in Kota Kinabalu after having to stay in a very busy and crowded area. I wish we had stayed here from day 1 of our trip! The view was beautiful, and all the friendly staff made us feel very welcome. My husband had accidentally left his phone in our room after we had checked out and left the hotel, but the housekeeping staff found it and ...

The hotel is located in a very strategic area. It is situated in the central business district near restaurants, 24 hour convenience stores and right opposite a shopping complex. The Hard Rock Cafe is just down the road. The Filipino market and wet market are just a stone's throw away. The Gaya Sunday market is within walking distance. If any place is too far for walki...

A quiet, spacious, economical room. All featured amenities are clean & in a good working condition. A large, room for a low cost. Somewhat lackluster staff. Not the safest, friendliest, or cleanest- city in Asia; but potentially one of the best values. A central business district hotel. A recently built edifice.

The hotel location is great, near to central business district. The foods is great. However, parking is not free. Need to pay RM2 per entry. There are some renovation in progress and it would be great if they can renovate the interior of the room as well.

We really enjoyed our stay here in Hotel Grandis. I am glad I made the last minute decision to change hotels and choose Hotel Grandis. I really wanted my mom to enjoy her post-operation vacation. The hotel is at the 'end' of central Kota Kinabalu but the location is excellent. Given the small size of downtown KK, everything is of walking distance. Beside it is Suria S...

I've been visiting KK for several times because of work, but this is my first time I tried Le Meridien. Maybe due to better offers by other 5-star hotels perhaps. But I'd to say the moment I step into the lobby I was really impressed; this is how a 5-star hotel should be. The staffs are really helpful and awesomely friendly; even though I'm in a business suit they stil...

We stayed at Dreamtel from July 10-14. When I booked it, I knew the location was good from previous stays in Borneo. It is centrally located, and the things to do within the heart of the city are all within walking distance. If you want to get out of the city, the bus stop is right across the street. Prior to staying here, we stayed at two other places for about the sa...

The hotel is strategically located near shopping, business centre and the pier. It’s a nice new hotel with the best shower head! The bed is very comfortable and the room is nice . The view from the 25th floor is amazing and they have a nice reasonably priced restaurant up there. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, they helped us to book a Grab(Uber) to th...

Pro : 1. Staff is very friendly and very efficient 2. The place is very clean and spacious 3. Far away from the busy and noisy town and quiet place for young children to sleep 4. The utensils, water heater , iron & iron board , sink, refrigerator, microwave , toileteries, towels, sejadah is provided. Thank you for excellent services. 5. Water heater and aircond functi...

actually this is the best choice hotel in sabah, kota kinabalu. the value of charge is worth as service and room is good. we can say is 3 stars charge but 5 stars hotel service and room design is modern and comfortable. also many restaurants around this hotel and the sunday market just infrant the street. only the problem is house keeping. the day we stay in excutiv...

Very convenient location and the staff are very friendly. Check in was very quick. We are very pleased that we are allowed to check in early – as we arrived in KK early morning from Shanghai. The hotel is centrally located and it was just next to Sabah Centrepoint and Warisan Square Mall. Also, just step out of the hotel’s main entrance is the Starbuck coffee shop. Ac...

Ming Garden Hotel & Residences welcomes you with warm Sabahan hospitality. Situated near the junction of several thoroughfares, our strategic location along the Coastal Highway allows fast access to Kota Kinabalu's central business, commercial and places of interest. Located within minutes from the airport, main bus terminal and jetty, this hotel is indeed the ideal ch...

Subjectively of course, and given the hotel rate this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in all my travels. Reception at the counter is excellent based on its star rating. Concierge attention is good. All other staff members were excellent. Location wise, just walk down the hotel and you have two eateries where you can enjoy a cuppa almost any time of the da...

First, the location is perfect, car rental is a must, 8-10mins drive to most of the wonderful restaurants in KK . Easy to order a Uber or Grab car, RM 4 to reach the popular restaurant 'Welcome Seafood'. Most importantly, the house is cosy and big and comfortable. The facilities are too good! We went swimming and exercising at 6th floor. Imago mall is also superb, K...

the hotel is highly recommended for travelers with tight budget who would like to stay in a 3-star hotel. we only stayed in a standard room with no window at the 5th level and we found it satisfactory. its selling point is its location which just a walking distance to many shopping malls, restaurants/eateries and convenience stores. hotel staff especially in hunter’s...

comfortable hotel so far so good clean air condition very satisfaction no complaint at all for me..central business district easy to go anywhere shopping night life or any restaurant..its good for single travelers , or for couple or with family..for those who love shopping, sight seeing, night life or relaxing for me its a best suggestion for saving accommodation with ...

It's been some time since I set foot in Kota Kinabalu and hubby decided that we go on a spontaneous weekend trip (15-17 July 2011) with our 8-year old daughter and our best friends (a couple) who were on their first trip to East Malaysia. No mountaineering and far-away parks, just food and short getaways and relaxation kinda trip. Hubby has stayed in Beverly before fo...

Centrally located. Short walking distance to the Atkinson Clocktower, Australian Place, Marlin, Wisma Merdeka, Suriah Sabah. Kopitiams surrounding the hotel. Gaya morning market just in front of the hotel on Sundays. Basic room facilities (no fridge nor microwave oven), but room is clean. No English TV channels. Toilet bowl flush in room 302 needs to be fixed (flushin...

This hotel IS NEW, rooms was ok and very clean, all in the bathroom, no breakfast service, Wi-Fi super good, IS not located in chinatown but in the little India, location IS ok, nearest metro station and some little restaurants and chinatown market district, the staff and the owner IS a plus of this beautiful little charme hotel, they are so helpful and very very gentl...

Stayed for 2 nights at Loft E 2 bedroom apartment together with my friends. The place is big, clean, location is at the city center, nice view of the city/sea view, with internet access, and complete with kitchen tools. Hotel staff are good (Zur, Fina & Tiffany). However, there's a need to improve the reception/check-in of guests. The guests are required to call t...

We loved our stay at TH Hotel! The staff everywhere was sweet and friendly and at the same time very professional. Receptionists gave accurate information about anything we asked about, and they gave us a free upgrade. The shuttle bus driver has been especially helpful and friendly. Farrah from the restaurant is a really sweet girl, and so was everyone else at the hote...

I just finished a weekend visit to Lintas View Hotel, it brings back great memories from when I first arrived in KK. This hotel is comfy with helpful staff and good sized rooms (I prefer the ones facing the driving range for the green view and amazing sunsets). Plus the community is a great place to explore from as it's not far to KK city by scooter, car or Uber b...

when i first step in the room, I'd feel shock and panic. It's my first time stay at backpacker, and I saw male in the room. First when I booked, I didn't know that it's mixed between male and female, and when I am room, I just saw one male inside the room, well, shock and feel somehow panic for the following day. after a walk to the city and back to the lodge, I saw oth...

It is a really nice hostel in a good central location. The room and shared bathrooms are extremally nice and clean. The included breakfast is tasty (it was usually a toast bread, jam, fruits, cake and sometimes sausages so not too bad!). There is also a really tasty restaurant downstairs with the best Laksa in Malaysia!

I spent the New Year in Skypod and I'm glad I did. The staff are extremely nice, engaging, funny, and will try their best to accommodate your needs. And this was the best part of my stay because I met really good people. They - Callvya, Farah, Pricilla, Nor, and Chichi - really know how to make you feel at home. As for the hostel, this was actually the first time for ...

People - they are really friendly and helpful. I wish i have more time to spend with them and make friends. Place - anything you need was there. They are located in the heart of central business so there is no problem if you need something. Price - For the travelers looking for the cheap price i HIGH RECOMMENDED! - For those looking for some privacy should do a adva...

I initially booked for a service apartment in Likas area but cancelled it for Hood Borneo instead. I took the private room which ia good for 2 people (but still big enough for 2) with a huge restroom as well. Conveniently located at heart of the city (Jalan Pantai) just parallel to Jalan Gaya. Just a few meters away from the bus stop for buses coming from KK. Hotel st...

Place is near some of the tourist spot in KK like Signal Hil Observatory, Merlin Statue and I heart KK sign, Filipino Market, City Park, Central Mall and Sunday Market. Although the live band can be heard inside the hostle making the guests hard to fall asleep. But overall, it was nice and comfortable staying in this hostel.

I want to thank the staff of Stay-In Lodge for accommodating my unusual need for a room with no wi-fi intrusion. They took me from room to room until I could find one with a good environment I could tolerate. As a result, my stay there was comfortable. This is not a fancy hotel, but not everyone needs fancy. It is a good deal for the price. Regarding food, there were g...

- Excellent location cos directly opposite CentrePoint - Very near to Central Market & Filipino Market - Very friendly & helpful staff & owner who can offer useful travel advice - Free drinking water available from water dispenser - Nice free local breakfast such as fried rice/noodles, bread & toast & local fruits & tea/coffee available - Able to arrange tours to man...

It is a good place to stay for backpacker and those who want budget traveling. The hotel is located at center of the town of Kota Kinabalu. The staff of the hotel quite nice and service my friend and i with a smile most of the time, simply say quite friendly.Eventhough the room of the hotel quite small but it is convenient for both of us to sleep. We also can online with...

A backpacker hotel with 5 star service for the cleanliness and the friendliness. The bedroom and bathroom are very clean, the pillow also soft. The location is just perfect. In front of the hotel and next to it there are restaurants. Very convenient if you wanna go anywhere. I'd recommend this hotel to everyone.

I had booked a single room and got a really spacious room for the price. Clean toilets and showers with hot water. a small hostel so not too many people in the place. My room had a cupboard and 2 multipurpose plugs so no hassle in charging electronics.Bedding and towel provided.... The common area is well designed and brightly lit with full glass walls so it feels ca...

It's a 1-star hotel so really one doesn't expect much, all I ask for is a clean room to stay in at night, and they delivered. When I booked I said I'd check in at 4pm, but I ended up arriving somewhere around 11.30am. Was kind of worried I might have to spend a few hours loafing around the city, but thankfully the staff were very accomodating and got me a room. Booke...

This hotel is located at a great location. It is clean and the staff are friendly. Breakfast (bread, coffee/tea, fruits, cereal and even Malaysia roti canai) is provided. What I did during breakfast was sipping a cup of coffee at the balcony while enjoying the morning breeze and looking at sights of the morning crowd. Great feeling. The room is a little bit small and h...

Pro 1. Cheap. Night stay less than RM50 2. Middle of city center. 3. Got lift 4. Breakfast available 5. Washing machine available 6. Can cook Cons 1. No prayers area (for muslim) 2. Mixed. For girl might be uncomfortable sharing dorm with men. 3. Smoking area just right front of hotel entrance. You will smell the smoke in front lobby inside hotel. 4. Tight space in pa...

arrived around 5pm to check in for 1 night stay in the hotel. the staff would give you a towel which has to be return later after you check out. i booked a dormitory bed in the 6-bed female dorm. the room looks nice and warm, with fan & aircon, 2 sockets, but it is on the 4th floor. be prepared to climb the stairs for a few times a day. it should be nothing for t...

I took the private bedroom with queen size bed. The location of this backpacker's place is very central. The airport bus is situated behind this place. If you want to go for tours, ask the receptionist. He can help you to sort it easily. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Kota Kinabalu - one of my favourite destinations in the world!

During my scuba trip in Korea Kinabalu, I've stayed at 2 different hotels which are rated 4 stars and here. In my opinion this one is the best value for the money. If you are traveler you may don't need to waste your money just for the room to sleep.

Just Found Out need to check in at old building , after climb to 2nd floor. Reception check in me at Old building which I paid for New wing. They told me fulled and moved me to old wing, but I paid more for new Wing. End up need me to wait only 15 min and check me in new wing? what a silly reason ? Stayed here for 2 night but found out expired bread roll on fridge ,...

it was fun to stay in capsule. I like that purple lights, the mirror. USB charger. Have ventilation. Air con outside, was a little cold, can't ask to change, cause other 3 people in room with no room, maybe hot. Can't turn off all lights, even without card charger is working. And one blue button is on. So I tried to stick something to cover it at least a bit. The bedd...

First impressions are everything and not only was the lodge clean, modern, new and comfy looking but the owners are also so friendly. They couldn't have made me feel anymore comfortable if they tried. They made a point of listening and then later asking me how my day trip went, unlike other hostels where I was just greeted. The other members of staff were also very fri...

Location within the central business district of KK. Plenty of interesting point of interest around the vicinity and near the walking distance. The bathroom quite good as you would expected. The single room quite ample for solo traveler. The lighting for no window room is a bit dim, very little free amenities provided so you might wanna prepare for that. The door knob ...

The hotel is about 5 km. from the centre of Kota Kinabalu. The hotel is very close to the pick-up point for mini-buses into K.K. (about 50 meters) and it costs 2 ringgit one-way. For a wireless internet connection it is better to be on the 1st floor than the 2nd floor. My room with a double-bed (a "queen") has a good bathroom, good air-conditioning, good wireless co...

Feels like a second Home!! staff very helpfull and nice, safe place and easy to go to other places like the Ferry central to get to an Island. Best part is that you can have breakfast very early or very late as well so you never miss out! The common area is Nice and tiny but its enogh for me. Very clean as well, staff cleans every day. Loved it here ❤

The location is good as it's in the centre of central business district, though initially we were having difficulty searching for the hotel as the route going to the hotel is really confusing. The Staffs were really nice and hotel price is good (based on the star ratings). Room was ok but the bathroom is a bit dirty and the toilet flusher handle was broken.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this fabulous new hotel in central KK. Our room was comfortable and had a decent view, most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the concierge was also extremely helpful in organizing our tour to the Mari Mari cultural village and giving honest information about the cheapest way to go island hopping (i.e. walk to the jetty an...

We enjoyed our stay at Ming Garden but, looking at the map, it looks like it's just out of town but when you try to walk there, you need to cross many very busy roads and it was easier to catch a cab most of the time beacuse of this. Cost was 12 myr. The room was nice but we had an executive Suite but I'm not sure how this was any different from just a standard room. I...

It's far from the central business district (kota kinabalu); you'll definitely need a car to get around. But, the hotel itself is located within a small commercial area and Grabcars are easy to come by. Rooms were spacious and clean, and staff were friendly. Food served for breakfast could be much better.

This is the best hotel that we've stayed during our KK trip (We changed 5 hotels in 7 nights!)... The room rate was reasonable, room was big and it comes with welcome drinks, ABFs, shuttle service to shopping malls, etc. We booked a standard room without window, but the reception staff upgraded us to a standard room with window upon our request! It was a special exp...

I went to KK in a group of 3 so we needed a big space like Bayu Suite's size (2 bedroom with 3 beds). Location is strategic as it is just 5 mins away from the city. You may have to tell your uber driver that Bayu Suite is also known as Sky Hotel & it located behind Maybank.

Everything is great with this apartment. Free access to private parking, high speed internet, clean environment, and good staff/host. Checkin/out process is easy since it is self checkin/out. The apartment is close to the pool, if you have small children trying to sleep the people at the pool can be loud. It's not so much problem for us. On the good side, the pool loo...

Stephen and his wife were great in ensuring we had a good stay. The apartment was very cosy and comfortable. Kids loved the pool and their beds. Amenities were a walk away. The pool had an OK view of the sunset (not full sunset though). Many thanks to Stephen's family for a wonderful holiday. Hope to be back again for Kundasang, KK and Eastern Sabah... It’s affordable place, close to hosp likas and UMS. Place is clean but can get dirty if somehow you end up staying with a sloppy tenant at the same time. During my booking i notice that there’s a lot of accomoda...

Room is large enough for two people, all essentials included even a small kitchen except for the tooth brush and toothpaste. The security and staff are good and helpful. We enjoy the sunset in the swimming pool! But it is not easy to get across to the road for the imago shopping mall due to the busy traffic, feel a little bit danger.

Booked the Duplex which was located at Riverson SOHO. A perfect location for shopping as it is only a close walk to Imago Mall. Moving around was also easy as Grab services is readily available. Below the apartment, they have various 24hrs convenience stores. Also some food shops, Dominos, Kopi Ping etc to eat out during the day. You can make use of the gym and swimmin...

Great for shopper, Imago right downstairs. Under flight path, so can hear flights overhead occasionally Have 3 air-conditioner in the apartment, so heat is not a problem. Water pressure was great, love it. Toilet paper aplenty, with others toiletries provided for so no worry. Supermarket and pharmacies can be found in Imago so obtaining most will not be a problem. ...

The host (Ann) is very helpful and kind. She responded to our queries attentively. The seaview apartment unit given to us is very clean, tidy, with complete kitchenware and washing machine, all in best condition, that has made our 3 night stay at ease, comfy and relaxing, since the unit is facing the ocean. Waking up to those view is mesmerizing. Im traveling with a g...

Good location. Only 5 minutes walk to beatiful beach where we had local sea foods or italian foos together while enjoy watching sea, island, birds and sun and listening music. NEGATIVE: Difficult to find entrance Clingy host and disturbing my holiday After scan the card getting out from parking, need to get back to the entrance lobby to return the key to PO box POSITIVE The aircon and TV at the first booked unit not working but then getting a bigger and better replacement

The apartment was spacious.. has free wifi.. Pool is open till 10pm.. However we enjoyed our stay there. Totally recommended to those who are having a vacation, a night out with friends, a short getaway too. The night view is also not bad. The lights were mesmerizing that you couldn't even want to close the curtains at night. Suitable for family of 5 and friends as wel...

The place is strategic because it is in the middle of KK town. The staircase to the bedrooms were a nice touch, gives a homey vibe. Just a couple of things to take note: The toilets at the bedrooms don't have pipe hose, the toilet at the kitchen has the hose but no water heater. Airplane sounds were frequently heard at the area, but it's no problem for us.

Pros - Cosy and homely stay. Location in the city area, allocated parking, convenience shopping (opposite Imago) and food court (10 am to 10 pm) just 5 minutes walking distance and other convenience stores and restaurants all around. Cons - Apartment is not well maintained, a bit dusty and no toilet paper.

The host is very responsive and helpful. We had a pleasant stay and the pool and gym facilities provided is great. Imago shipping mall is just right opposite the place, but u might need a grab car due to the fast traffic. The host even offered us if we need to drop the luggage at their unit after checkout so that we dont need to carry our luggage around before we went ...
