Beach is beautiful but room pictures were misleading.”

Our family has stayed at Central Hotel before. This was our third visit. We booked our rooms in advance on Agoda and were pleased to reserve rooms that we thought had their own private small kids pool. Since we have small children this was exciting, but when we arrived we realized the pictures on Agoda were misleading. Room pictures often had exteriors pictures from different rooms than actually provided. Maybe they thought they were just showing the overall facilities, but for our family this meant we were in a different room than we had expected. The Deluxe Sea View room was comfortable and clean, but disappointing to our family.

Way over priced for the quality of stay! ”

The beach was beautiful, as were the rooms we stayed in

While the hotel is beautiful, our stay was ruined by the lack of facilities available during our stay. As the hotel were doing up there restaurant there was no food which is understandable, however, there wasn't even a fridge to buy bottles of water or anything available anywhere on the property. You have to hire a motorbike and go into the village if you were thirsty! The hotel also turned off the electricity between 6am in the morning until 7pm. Obviously this means the air con didn't work, or the fridge etc. Rooms get unbareably hot so air con is really a must have! This also meant there was no wifi until 7pm and the wifi (when it was turned on) was terrible quality, only available right in front of the reception desk and only really worked one of the nights for us. The room we stayed in had a TV which also didn't work at all! We asked about this in reception and it was just shrugged off. Another huge issue was the fact that there were no sun loungers or chairs or anything around the pool or on the beach. Towels for the pool/ beach weren't on offer either. Another issue with the pool was that the hotel were also running a water safety training course when we were there which meant the pool was being used by about 40 men all day every day when we were there. As two females we felt way too uncomfortable to use the pool at all during our stay. Oh, the hotel also turned off the water one of the days too so that toilets etc wouldn't work. And the absolute worst part was that whenever we asked about something or complained we were either shrugged off or lied to! Would never recommend this hotel! The beach is beautiful but there are loads of resorts on the same beach! Go to one of them instead!

Nice location and good value for the room but poor service”

Stayed here fore 4 nights in the most basic room. The room was large with a huge bed and pretty clean. Bathroom was also spacious and fine. Great location on the beach with reasonable but not the cleanest pool. Good availability of loungers and beach umbrellas. Wifi bit intermittent. Staff had very poor grasp of english so difficult to get decent service out of them. The restaurant was a let down.

worst hotel booking yet”

extremely disatisfying. the hotel was actually shut down during monsoon season in myanmar - huge storm on the beaches. i had power for about 1/3 of my stay during the time. there were no supporting staff. we were only greeted by a so called manager wearing wife beaters and swimming shorts who gave us keys and showed us to the room, then nothing. me and my girlfriend were practically the only vacationers staying there during the time - there were no hotel staff on standby at all! this is a serious issue of our safety during the stormy weather. what could we do if something had happened? no phones were available! although put the hotel under a special pricing, but i think it would have been beter if they had just told us that the hotel was shut down at the time, i would have never booked. i drove from yangon (which was 4.5 hours drive), and arrived to a hotel battered by storm, and shut down. no amenities were available! the phone lines were inoperable! something seriously bad would have gone down, luckily we met no ill fate. we demand a refund for this booking!

No electricity and hot water!”

Verubstrange, electricity is only provided between 6PM and 6AM. No electricity during the day and that includes air conditioning. Also, no hot water after 6AM. Even before that time the water was not that hot. The place is inundated with mosquitos and insects galore. The room was pretty shabby. It is on the beach though.
