Very good
The hotel is right next to the famous Formosa Boulevard Station (yes, the one with the pretty ceiling). The name of the hotel is very apt because it does feel like it's in the centre - public transportation is accessible to all tourist spots and even the airport. The staff is all lovely, making sure to greet you and smile whenever you go in and out of the hotel. A lot of local eateries in the area, there's a hotpot spot at the corner and a dimsum place in walking distance. Looking forward to staying here again.
We booked a room for two for 3 nights at Centre Hotel. We arrived our hotel around 3:30, thinking that we would be given keys to our room as the check-in starts at 3PM. However we were told that "our room is not clean yet" and asked to wait on the second floor for about 45 minutes. Next, they gave us a breakfast coupon. According to the information in Agoda, they should be providing buffet breakfast, however the next morning we were given a McDonalds tea with an egg muffin instead. The lady at the desk who barely spoke English only said "sorry, it changed". And till the rest of our stay, we received tiny breakfasts from various stores (usually in form of one small sandwich + one drink). The lack of buffet breakfast was very annoying cause that was one of the reasons why we picked this hotel specifically. Anyway, the double bed that we asked for was actually two single beds put together, but it was still OK. There was no soap in the bathroom, we had to ask for it specifically. On the second day of our stay, we used the "make up the room" button to let the staff know that we wanted our room to be cleaned, however when we got back we saw that nothing was cleaned or fixed. Later they told us that we have to tell the reception for it face to face, and leave our keys with them. So the "make up room" button in the rooms is good for nothing. The staff does not speak English, so its a must to use Google translate all the time. And when it was finally the last day of stay & time to check out, despite Agoda showing the check out time as 12PM, we were called at 10:50 and told that the check out time is 11AM. The best things about the hotel were its location and cleanness. But a lot of things mentioned about the hotel in Agoda are unfortunately not true.
What I love about this Hotel is that it is just a minute walk to Formosa Station. The staff are very friendly. 5 minute walk to the liaohe night market. About the room, it is spacious. We had the one with bath tub. Hot and Cold showers. You can request for room cleaning everyday. It has mini ref but the television is not a smart tv. The room is not that clean as we entered it. There are alikaboks but manageable. Wifi, is just so-so but ending we just used our pocket wifi. Over all, I would still recommend this hotel for a long stay. We stayed for 9 days.
It's right beside Formosa Blvd station so it's a really strategic place to stay. So many convenience stores around. Also short walk to Liuhe night market. The double room without window is spacious for 1 person. I was surprised by how clean things look, especially the bathroom. I did not smell strong smole like others said. They have goos airconditioning and wifi. No clothes cabinet but with hanging hooks. Shower gel and shampoo included inside the bathroom. No bidet though. Has rubber slippers in the room, plus complimentary water. Check-in is easy (cash or card). There's elevator to go up. At first I was just confused with the name coz it's Central hotel in the sign outside. And inside there's also signage for Songshan Boutique hotel something. I will definitely stay here again if I am in Kaohsiung.

“Great location, especially if you plan to commute”
Great location. Very near Formosa Boulevard MRT Station. Also near bus stations. Within walking distance to Liouhe Night Market. Room is spaceous, bed is comfortable. There's TV and a working area if you plan to work while on travel. Bathroom is spaceous, with hot/cold shower, and bathtub. Staff is friendly, well-trained, and spoke English. Overall, could use some deep cleaning, as sometimes there's a musky/smoky smell probably from other tenants.
