Because of how much happy we were at the Centre Point Silom River View Hote make us feel at home event we are on Holiday. We extended our stay for another 2 nights. Thanks to Khun Chalong and the team event the hotel was fully booked he manages to arrange for us to stay extra 2 nights. I would like to recommend to anyone who looking to book the hotel with Chao Praya River View go for Centre Point Silom River View Hotel because of good value for the money the size of the room spacious so comfortable you get everything you need all the staffs very well trained the buffet breakfast was delicious so much of choice. Great location for anyone who's frist time in Bangkok convenient for transport to travelling around near to BTS sky train near to Chao Praya express boat for go to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, the national museum etc the boat only cost 15 baht which is about 50p.
Dear benjamaporn, Thank you very much for your kind comment and your support at our Centre Point Hotel Silom. I hope that your stay with us was a pleasant one. My team and I would try our best to make our hotel as your second home in Bangkok again. Looking forward to seeing you again. Have a good time. Great value, great location”
I wanted a large, comfy room, fast wi-fi, handy access to transport, options for local food nearby and a nice pool to retreat to as a relief from the Bangkok heat. Got the lot with Centre Point Silom. Our room was lovely, with a river view, huge bed, large bathroom, kitchenette (although why cook with all that amazing food at your doorstep?), and a WASHER-DRYER -- what a godsend in sticky Bangkok! Breakfast was lovely, with fruit, cereals, eggs to order, Asian options, and some odd but delicious offerings (pork lasagne for breakfast...well, it was yummy!). The location is just great. Two minutes walk to the sky train, three minutes to the main ferry pier (what a great way to travel around Bangkok!), and quick access to taxis if you need them. Lots of great street food around, and some little local restaurants. If you aren't that adventurous there are more upmarket dining options around too. Silom area is just up the road, and the big shopping centres a few sky train stops away. Pool is large and well-maintained, with a great city view too. It's shaded after midday, which I appreciated after a morning in the sun and heat. The staff was unfailingly polite, helpful and attentive. Desk staff had good English skills. The fellas out the front were always ready to organise a taxi or help with luggage. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.
excellent location & staff”
We spent 3 days in a normal studio suite during a conference weekend in Bangkok. This is an up market service apartment rather than a hotel in a nice location by the river of Bangkok. It is above a Robinsons shopping mall right next to a BTS skytrain station and also the jetty where tourist boats start the half hour journey up river. So this is an excellent location to stay whether you wish to shop or do sightseeing. If you get a room in the right direction, the view out of the balcony towards the river is very good too (see photos). This place is like a low cost alternative to the Shangri-la hotel next door or the Penisular or Oriental up the river, minus the plush cafe and bars typical of 5 star hotel. But the whole place is modern and tastefully finished like any high class condo apartments so good for long stay guests who don't want to pay 4* hotel prices. The rooms are large even by international standards and are filled with all mod cons including microwave and washing machine in the kitchen area(see photo). The bathrooms are too big and seems a waste of space with a shower cubicle big enough for a small elephant! Usual bathroom accessories but huge bottles of consumables instead of little disposable tubes of shampoo, cream, etc. The free wireless internet is one of the fastest network I have ever experienced in a hotel (and I travel for business almost monthly!) so everything works well. Breakfast is served at a nice modern lounge next to the swimming pool and the food is as good as what is served typically at any 4* to 5* hotel. The staff are courteous and helpful, even the security guard is alert and helpful whenever we access the private entrance via the shopping centre. The staff even taught us how to walk via a short cut to have dinner at the Shangri-la hotel when we wanted a special anniversary meal next to the river. We will certainly consider CentrePoint Silom again whenever we visit Bangkok in the future.
The Best Centre Point Location?”
I returned to Centre Point Silom for many reasons. The top 3 reasons are 1) Location near BTS Saphan Taksin station and Chao Praya river 2) Staff friendliness 3) Nice big rooms The best thing about Centre Point Silom is its proximity to Bangkok's public transportation system, namely BTS and the riverboats. The new airport train is now open. It is a fast and comfortable ride from the international airport to this hotel. The Saphan Taksin BTS station is only 1 block away from the hotel. The total time that it takes from the airport to the hotel is 60 minutes. The cost is 60 baht. Not a bad deal considering a taxi ride will cost you 200 baht. If you want to see the Thai temples upriver, you can take the riverboat from the Tha Sathon pier. That is about 2-3 blocks from the hotel near the Shangri-la hotel. A ride upriver is only 14 baht if you take the local boat. Don't fall for the tourist boat which costs 150 baht. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Most can speak English. The best part is that they remembered me from my last stay which was a year ago. Impressive. The rooms are big and comfortable. It feels like a 4 star hotel. The only quibble I had was that my washer/dryer did not work. In addition, the instructions on how to use it was in Italian! I informed the front desk staff about the machine. They offered to fix it, change it, or change rooms. I chose to change rooms. My new room had a better machine that had English instructions. It worked. Another benefit to this hotel is the breakfast buffet. You have your choice of Western food and Thai food. The coffee was excellent. There is also a swimming pool, complete gym with shower, and onsite beauty salon. Wi-fi is provided for free. What else can a traveler ask for? I plan to return to this hotel on my next trip.
Excellent stay, friendly staff”
We would definitely stay at the Centre Point Silom again! It was so convenient to the BTS station and water taxi station; it's connected directly to the Robinson's department store and a grocery store with a food court area, plus a Starbucks, McD's and a few other fast-food places. The size of the hotel room was perfect for our family of four, there was a good-sized bathroom, and having the kitchen/dining area was great! Normally pools in city hotels tend to run small, but the pool here was a really nice size: big enough that the kids could play at one end and other guests could relax at the other end. The hotel recently converted to a salt-water system for the pool instead of chlorine, which I really like. The breakfast was varied and fresh every day. Every staff member we encountered was so friendly and very helpful, and several went above and beyond when we had an issue for which we needed translation and assistance. Usually when we're in Bangkok we've stayed more in the Sukhumvit area, which is closer to the major shopping areas but tends to be more crowded. This time we needed to stay near the river so we tried the Centre Point Silom. We were pleasantly surprised at how convenient it was to the BTS, so we were able to get to the Siam shopping areas relatively quickly. Highly recommend this hotel.
Pure Perfection”
Centre Point Silom should be your choice of hotels in Bangkok. It is located adjacent to Robinsons Department Store (Bang Rak), a minute's walk to the BTS and ferry pier. Some rooms even have a view of the river. The staff could not be more accomodating or eager to please . . . once the norm for Bangkok but difficult to find these days. Every staff member you pass greets you and the guys at the lobby elevator rush to push the button for you (for both the elevator and the door into Robinsons). The room comes with a washer/dryer, which didn't work. But within 5 minutes of calling the front desk maintenace came up and switched out the unit with a new one AND had a housekeeper take our laundry to an adjacent room to wash for us. My partner prefers powdered cream with his coffee in the morning and the buffet only had real cream, but all we had to do was ask and the waiter immediately went and got some . . . and had 2 packs waiting each morning for the rest of our stay! Beautiful, spacious room, TV with channels for many languages, a dvd player, microwave, oven, large shower (and seperate tub). Hard to beat for the price. The only complaint I've heard is about the 1,000 baht per night deposit required at check in. it isn't a problem if you are prepared for it. And when you check out the cancel the hold on your credit card - in fact the entire check out took less than a minute. And lastly, they quickly arranged for a metered taxi to the airport for us - insuring the driver would use the meter.
Close to river, skytrain and shopping”
nice hotel, used to be serviced apartments. our room included washing machine and dryer, which is very handy for medium length stays in sticky, sweaty bangkok. room rates are competitive and our room was quite nice with great views. we were looking for a location close to skytrain and centre point is 200-300 meters from saphan taksin station. river cruise boats are also very close by. one of the good points for me is that we were never harassed by taxi and tuk tuk drivers offering shopping trips to gem shops and seedy night clubs. i guess people that stay medium to long term in bangkok dont fall for that. this was the first time for us at centre point silom, we enjoyed our stay so much we rebooked to stay again in 2 weeks with our extended family.
First impression the best”
Being unfamiliar with Bangkok, we didn't know what to expect. So driving in to the hotel at midnight was a bit undaunting. But once inside, we saw the beautiful hotel lobby, was greeted by a friendly staff who made the check in fast and easy and we were escorted to our room, shown around and were left in the quiet and safety of the hotel. It was a great way to be welcomed to Bangkok. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious; much better than we had ever anticipated. The complimentary breakfast buffet was well supplied and very tasty; a great selection, fresh fruit and Western and Thai foods available. It was a great mix of taste treats. Wonderful coffee, too. The hotel is near the river and the skytrain. May I suggest to newcomers to the city to have the hotel call for your taxi instead of waving one down from the street. You'll be happier if you do. The street taxi's tend to want to take you 'shopping' on your way to or from your destination. I would recommend Centre Point Silom to any one. We're felt totally at home, safe and comfortable.
Exceptional”
How Centre Point Silom is not listed as a five star property is beyond me. This place has it all. And it just keeps getting better. They keep the property immaculate and are constantly upgrading the look of the place. The amenities are five star already, yet they keep adding more amenities. The staff is ridiculously efficient and some of the happiest and frinedliest I've run across throughout Asia. I don't know how Centre Point Silom could get any better. At an amazingly low price they provide in-room services that more expensive hotels either don;t have or charge for. Lightening quick internet service and a washer/dryer just to name two. And the buffet breakfast, which changes daily, is super, delicious, and there are more dishes avaialble than you could possibly sample. You could not do better in bangkok than Centre Point Silom. I know. I've tried.
A wonderful break in Bangkok”
We have found this hotel to be the best one we have stayed in in Bangkok. Living in Koh Samui we travel often to Bangkok, after finding Centre Point at Silom, I doubt if we will ever look for another hotel. The location of the hotel is perfect, 2 mins walk from the river and sky train. You could not get a better location than this. adjoining Robinsons department store with direct acess into the store from lobby. There is also a night market nearby. The staff are very friendly and helpful. All areas of the hotel are very well decorated and presented. Rooms are very large and well equiped. Flat screen TV, DVD player and CD player. We found the kitchen area very useful, full size fridge freezer, washer/dryer ideal for taking home clean clothes instead of a caseful of washing. The restuarant has good views over the roof top pool and city. A very good choice of items for breakfast served buffet style. A great hotel for all occasions.
Good, value for money, worth consideration”
We've spent there four nights. Location of the hotel was really nice, on the riverside, where you could take a river taxi to main attractions of Bangkok. Also there were lot of shops (a big one in the hotel building), restaurants and POIs. The rooms are huge, super clean with all necessary equipment (even with washing machine) and with spacious bathroom. We had a stunning view from our balcony on the river and skytowers of Bangkok. Breakfast was very nice with variety of food, restayran was also good. Pool area was nice, with nice urban view. All this for a really good price. What was annoying: it was really noisy (but we ubderstand that it is difficult to find peaceful place in Bangkok...), when you open he window noise is massive (we lived on 18th floor...). Also air con is quite noisy and may disturb your sleep, also it was hard to control (it seemed that it was always freezing, no matter what mode you have chosen). Also there were some noisy renovations in the hotel during our stay, but we could cope wit that. It was really good stay and this hotel is really worth consideration if you intend to stay in Bangkok for a few nights.
well worth returning”
this is my second visit to centre point silom. staying for one night only. they have beefed up security a little with your room key required to use the elevator, but otherwise as good as my previous visit. room comes with hot breakfast. there is a pool and health club, great for a dip after a hot dusty trip. free wi-fi, washer and drier if you are on a long trip. friendly staff, city and river view, and convenient to the river and the skytrain. definitely my choice for a stay in bangkok. you can walk to the mandarin oriental and drink their high priced beer without the high room price.
Great Stay in Bangkok”
As a family, it makes much more sense for us to stay at a serviced apartment like Center Point. We particularly like the Center Point Silom for its excellent location. It is on the Chao Praya River, situated above a department store with a supermarket, and is a very short walk away from the BTS Skytrain. The Center Point Silom offers excellent value for money. The room we stayed in was 70 square meters on the 22nd floor, affording us an excellent view of Bangkok. The room includes a fully functional kitchen as well as a washing machine and dryer. Four of us were able to stay in a room for two persons with no extra charge. The room included breakfast for 2 persons. I just had to pay for both of my kids at the breakfast buffet, which was just a bit over 400 baht, which was very reasonable. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. This was our second time staying at The Center Point, and we will definitely be back. We really like staying at The Center Point Silom.
Dear Jay, Thank you very much for your kind comment and your support at our Centre Point Hotel Silom. I will pass your kind words to all of my staff. Have a good time. Best regards, Nichapa H. (Ms) Front Office Manager Centre Point Silom
Nice place, great location”
The Centre Point Silom is a nice bargain in the higher end river hotel district. The location is perfect for getting around town easily. The Thaksin Pier BTS (sky train) is easy walking distance as is the pier for getting river transportation to many different sights. Taxis are easy to flag down. The hotel is located right on top of a nice grocery store and all the rooms are suites with kitchens so you can shop for food without ever leaving the hotel, which is handy if it is raining. The complex also has a Robinsons department store so you can pick up a bathing suit or anything else you may have forgotten. We have stayed here twice and you really can not beat it for both price and quality. While not 5 star it is a solid 4 star at a reasonable price. We paid an additional 300baht ($10) a night to get a room with a balcony over the river. Unfortunately the air conditioner was located there so it is not quiet place to sit but the view was nice. The hotel employees are very courteous and helpful, the free buffet breakfast very good. The pool is nice with great city views. We have stayed here twice in the past 3 years.
Great hotel in handy location for BTS and river.”
Having read previous positive reviews of the Centre Point Silom Hotel we were not dissapointed (not always the case with good reviews.) The hotel is well located with close access is to the BTS transport service and river boats (less than 5 minutes walk for both.) We recieved a free upgrade to a larger studio with river views and were delighted with the layout of the romm(s) All the ameneties were well thought out and having an additional kitchen was a bonus. The bathroom was extremely spacious and well equiped. The inclusive buffet brfeakfast was extremely good. Overall the hotel rtepresents excellent value for what they charge. Highly recommended.
What a great start in our 2 weeks of Aisa vacation”
It was our first stay and stop in our 2 weeks vacation in Asia and at the Centre Point Silom Hotel Bangkok and couldn't have started better. We arrived in different flights and enjoyed the great new and large rooms here. Clean with great views over the city and the river. Good Breakfast Buffet with friendly staff. Great location and everything is new and with nice, soft colors. It is a great place to stay in Bangkok if you're looking for a good place as a base to explore Bangkok.
Great view of river, good location”
i chose the hotel because i wanted to test out accessibility by public transport. i took the airport train to paya thai station, changed over to bst sukhumvit line and again changed to silom line at siam station. very convenient and doable with luggage. on the way back to the airport in reverse order it took me just 55 minutes to reach the airport, a very short time for bangkok conditions. samphan taksin station of the bst silom line is 4 minutes walk from centre point silom hotel. if you buy a day card before your first trip, it costs 120 baht and you travel free the rest of the day, till 24h on bst lines. at verious stops you can interchange to other bangkok puplic transport operators such as the metro and btr.
Great place for short or longer stays. ”
Bangkok is one of our favourite cities and the Centre Point Silom is one of our favourite hotels. The first time we stayed here we couldn't believe the value for money, and the helpful friendly staff made our visit even better. The second time we stayed here we brought friends with us and they were equally impressed. It didn't take us long to find our way round the city using river and rail transport as much as possible. We also enjoyed the pool, watching the lights come on across the city as we swam. Another bonus is the Robinson department store within the same building. All things considered we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else in Bangkok.
Excellent Hotel!! Would def. stay here again!!”
This was the best hotel we stayed at in Thailand. The location was excellent, beside the skytrain entrance and adjoined to a large shopping centre. The rooms were immaculate and spacious. The staff were extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. Ask for a river view room, as the views are superb. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The only thing I would stay is be careful about overfriendly locals as they usually have an agenda and will try to direct you to a temple and wholesale jewellers. Even at the entrance to the Skytrain in Silom, there is a man sitting at desk (looking very official)and he will try to scam an unsuspecting tourist. Don't buy any jewellery, don't listen when they tell you that the government are offering tourists tax free jewellery/gems, don't let anyone tell you that the place you are are going is closed because the chances are it's not. (This advice is for Bangkok in general and nothing to do with the hotel)
great value, great location”
We love Centre Point Silom! We looked forward to the delicious breakfast every morning. The coffee was delicious and the selection was superb. The in-room washer/ dryer was a great plus, too. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a nice river view. The service at the hotel was probably what stood out the most, though. We highly recommend Centre Point for anyone staying in Bangkok, either for business or on holiday.
