Charme of a backpacker with full hotel qualities and extremly nice staff”
Like at home with very friendly staff, good breakfast and fancy rooms (we had the top ones with a special long red outdoor staircase - reminded me of the old backpackers I was in - but with way more comfort). Spacy rooms, hot water, internet in the lobby and staff which cared about us and helped with everything. Really great to sit there, enjoy a beer and see the sun set. Good food in the kitchen, but prepare for some waiting time for the food (order before the shower so everything is set up when you come down - a tip of the reception desk). A little outside of the main city, but with free transport and quiet rooms. Nevertheless we walked the way and enjoyed pisang goreng (fried bananas) on the small stalls at the side of the street.
Friendly and quiet ”
I have stayed here three years running. It doesn’t look impressive from the outside, but it’s designed to face inward to the hillside. Inside, it’s a traditional Indonesian design. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good enough size and very clean. The restaurant is spacious and airy - cool at night. The menu is short, but there is a variety of dishes and some good local specialities. It’s located slightly out of town, but it’s only 15 or 20 minutes to walk to the tourist area where the dive shops etc are. They also do a free drop off and pickup if you want. I’m very happy with the place and will stay here again.
Great hilltop escape with fantastic food”
We booked the budget standard on first floor and wished there was vacancy on upper floor because they had view windows. Go for deluxe room! Lounge and restaurant open deck-like area lovely with fluently staff throughout hotel. I will book again next time.
Good rooms, near the viewpoint”
There is 10 minutes walking to the town, but it is not noisy in this hotel. Friendly stuff, restaurant with food of average quality, free transfer to the airport. There is road to viewpoint behind the hotel. Very good value for money.
Very friendly staff, hot shower, free shuttle to town, decent breakfast, fresh towels every day”
Very friendly staff that will help you with anything, hot shower, free shuttle to town and back to hotel (once per day on your chosen time - extra shuttles cost 25k), decent breakfast, fresh towels and room cleaning every day. Downside is that it is a 15-20 min walk to town. But we have walked back plenty of times.
Decent option away from the noisy mosques downtown”
This hotel is a decent three star option. Our airport pickup came soon after I called the hotel to let them know we had arrived (our flight had been delayed from Bali). The staff was really friendly. The bathroom in our first room could have been cleaner/more up-to-date. It had seen its day and smelled a little. Our second night we were in a room the next level up which was much nicer but not sure it deserved the higher price tag. Breakfast was great except for the boxed breakfast we had of only white bread and butter when we had to leave at 5am for a boat tour to the islands for a day.
Great Hotel. Very helpful staff!”
The staff helped me with some travel arrangements that were to be handled by another group who failed to do so. EXTREMELY helpful staff, very accommodating and caring. One of the best places in Labuan Bajo to stay.
Niels Peter Jensen”
A very positive surprise to come to this hotel. The staff gave a big warm welcome with free tea coffee and fried banana. In the afternoon the hotel drove us around in the town to find some equipment we needed and in the evening they drove us to a local restaurant. The breakfast very nice and free transport to the air port. Better friendly, helpfull and smiling staff will be hard to find.. Great Great Great.
very nice and affordable hotel a bit outside the noisy town center, very good restaurant ”
We spent 3 nights there and liked it very much. no pool, but a nice garden. it is quiet, the rooms are clean and the staff very helpful. they offer a free shuttle to the town center twice a day (private car), but you also can walk for 15 minutes to the harbour. The restaurant and the stuff there are great! very very good food and one of the girls there wakes up at 4am to prepare us an egg toast we could take away for our super early tour. the hotel doesn't provide a beautiful view over the bay of Labuan Bajo like other hotels , but the price is much lower. so all in all a very nice experience :) recommend!
Basic Indonesian style hotel. Only a 1 or 2 star hotel at best. The VIP rooms are better.”
Pros very basic hotel. Clean sheets. Good Indo style breakfast. Staff friendly but best to speak some Indonesian. Cons. Mouldy roof and bathroom. Cold shower. Feels tired. Not close to town but not in a quiet area. Lots of road noise. Can hear next room. This is all in DELUXE room. Basic rooms are closer to the road noise. No mosquito net. Old and tired.
An OK place to camp down for the night.”
The room was nice enough with a shower room and equipment such as kettle, TV, frig, etc. The A/C was very 'weak' and too hours to cool down the room. There is no sea view, or swimming pool and it is some way 'out of town.
Great staff, clean rooms!”
Great staff al so nice and friendly. Always helps you out and thinking with you. Only for them you should go to here. Some of them speak good English some of them don't. Breakfast is good, but everyday the same. Housekeeping everyday, everything is spotless and clean. Only cold water shower, they should fix that but didn't.
Lovely location with friendly staff”
I had a very pleasant 5 day stay here. The layout of the hotel is really nice with a big open plan restaurant looking out to the hills and a series of exterior stairs and walk ways leading to a number of levels with different bungalow type rooms. We spent quite a lot of time sat out in the dining area which was a sociable hub. It was a little tatty in places and there was no hot water in mine or my friends room, the wifi was also hit and miss. But what made it great was the staff who were all lovely and made a big effort. It's a bit out of town (10 mins walk to very edge. Or 20 mins to centre) but they offered a shuttle drop off and collection which was very handy ( they also gave us a free ride to the airport when we left). The fact that Flores is obviously less touched by tourism than Java or Bali means selection and pricing there is more limited (and pricier) - so on the affordable end of what's there this is a definite good spot!
Quiet and far from harbor”
They have very good breakfast with fruits and bread and Indonesian breakfast. The place has some deluxe rooms that need repairs. The most quiet rooms are in the front. ; indeed you can hear the motorcycle from the street. But the super deluxe has the geko animal that wake you up at 4am in all the rooms super deluxe. They give you free shuttle to the harbor. The two girls that work in reception that knows English are very nice and friendly. I recommend it.
This place has a nice vibe. We purchased a standard room but upgraded to one of the "VIP" rooms, which seemed to be worth the differential. Staff at the front desk and restaurant were fantastic. One should be aware that this hotel is 7-8 minutes from downtown, but they compensate by having a free shuttle (once each way per day). There were no problems arranging early-morning rides. Every time I called for a pickup from downtown, the van arrived in less time than I was told to wait!
An enjoyable stay”
The staff make this hotel - so nice, friendly and eager to please. They organise the shuttle efficiently and with flexibility when guests want it. The hotel is relaxing with a nice lounge and surrounded by gardens, being a short walk out of town. We enjoyed our stay!
Very nice people. Beautiful place with a lot of space. Breakfast is very good.”
We spent a couple of days at another hotel before Centro Bajo and even though the other place was also nice, we were very warmly welcomed at Centro Bajo. The staff with their smile and enthusiasm makes a big difference in creating a comfortable atmosphere.
NOT TOO BAD OPTION”
THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS HOTEL IS THE STAFF! THEY ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE ROOM (THE MOST EXPENSIVE ONE) LACKED SUNSHINE AND THE SOUNDPROOF WAS NOT GREAT. BUT BECAUSE YOU COME TO LABUAN BAJO FOR ISLANDS, YOU DON'T REALLY NOTICE SUCH THINGS. THE HOTEL IS 20 MINS WALK FROM THE CITY CENTER, BUT THE HOTEL PROVIDE RELIABLE DROP OFF AND PICK UP. VERY NICE. THE BREAKFAST IS INDONESIAN STYLE. THE WIFI SIGNAL WAS STRONG...BUT WE COULD NOT CONNECT...
One of the better options in Labuan Bajo”
It's definitely not 'Central' as the name suggests, however it is on the main street, about 5-10mins walk from the action. I actually prefer the location than if it was smack back in the main street as I believe it would be very loud. Staff were very friendly and wonderful, except for the fact they came to clean our rooms at 8am, then when we didn't answer they came back at 9:30am and were insistent they clean the rooms then. I understand most people are in LB to dive and therefor get up early, but this particular morning was the one day in our two week journey where we could actually sleep in, so waking us up and kicking us out of our room so they could clean it wasn't really appreciated. The 'sunset view spot' couldn't be anymore neglected or badly signposted. The air conditioning in the room was also shockingly useless, and if you want wifi then try to get a room right next to the lobby. Nothing to do with the hotel, but Labuan Bajo is also quickly becoming a trash heap. The harbour is full of plastic bottles and other rubish, swimming at the beaches around town is absolutely disgusting, like swimming in a giant plastic bag. It's really quite a shame watching the locals (and no doubt foreigners also) throw there trash on the ground or off the boats in the water, they are destroying the beautiful surroundings that people are arriving to see in the first place. I think they disgusting environmental catastrophe that is inevitable in LB will keep me from returning.
Location is not near any shops but everything else was excellent. Wonderful food, helpful staff, comfortable rooms. The "Sunset spot" was not worth it because the spot was overgrown so you couldn't see anything. I would stay here again.
