More about Cha Am Beachfront

Hotels in Cha-am are spread out across the beach with plenty of room in between. Many of the visitors are Thais on holiday, but international tourists come to get an idea of what Hua Hin was like before grand-scale development set in. That isn’t to say that Cha-am isn’t well developed; rather, it offers a more authentic version of the Thai holiday.

The main attraction is the beach, with its Thai seafood restaurants, beach bars and shops. There are a few attractions in the area, including Cha-am Forest Park. The park is a popular picnic destination with Thai families. The other major attraction in the area is Wat Cha-am, with its Buddhist grotto and reclining Buddha image.

Hotels in Cha-am are lively and crowded on holidays and weekends, but the peaceful environment during the week is perfect for a quiet getaway. Most of the hotels include a full set of amenities including nice restaurants, swimming pools and entertainment facilities.

Getting to Cha-am is easy. It’s the last stop on the way to Hua Hin from Bangkok. The easiest way to get here from the capital is by train, though the route isn’t always advertised in English since it’s such a popular Thai destination. Trains arrive at Cha-am railway station, which is a short taxi ride from the beachfront hotels.
