"Pleasant walk nearby the river Ping."

Kamphaeng Phet is situated in the northern part of Thailand, and its main river, the Ping, is a source of the famed Chao Phraya River. Each room at the Chakungrao Riverview Hotel offers guests a view of the Ping River, and many of the rooms are interconnected, making it a solid choice for families. Standard amenities in each room include air conditioning and cable television for extra comfort and convenience. Because Kamphaeng Phet is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it offers plenty of chances for sightseeing including a historical park, museums, hot springs, and the ancient walls that used to protect the city from invaders. To make your reservation at Chakungrao Riverview Hotel, just enter your travel dates on our secure online booking form and submit.

Great Location, Friendly Staff and Decent Breakfast”
The best thing about the Chakungrao Riverview Hotel is its location. Even though we didn't have a view of the river, the location makes it very convenient to get to the river and see a wonderful sunset. There are restaurants in walking distance and even more if you have access to a bicycle, motorcycle, or car. Our room was clean and comfortable, but our air conditioner did get noisy at times and was honestly a bit too chilly. The television was also a bit dated, but I would stay at the Chakungrao Riverview Hotel again.
Classic style hotel, comfortable”
Others might describe the hotel as in need of "an update" or "renovation". I really like classic hotels with lots of intricate woodwork, paneling, and wood floors, but admittedly, some things are worn and in need of replacement or repair. The beds were comfortable, the amenities were fine, and the room size was ample. The bathroom was sizable too, with a combination bath and shower. There were plenty of lights and the Internet was very fast. The hotel is located in the heart of Kamphaeng Phet, facing a park next to the river. The view is actually quite nice. There are bakeries, a farmers market, and convenience stores within walking distance. The staff were friendly and courteous. The breakfast was good with ample choices, although there is a bit of a pest issue (this is Buddhist Thailand in the tropics ...they just will not spray). The food was covered. There is no pool.
Nice hotel, great location”
we stayed here because we were travelling home from the north of thailand. we found it was in a very convenient location and was well staffed and very comfortable i would stay here again for sure. there is a good view of the river from the front of the hotel and a beautiful temple behind. parking is also available opposite the hotel.
An old hotel. Definitely in need of an upgrade. Parking across street from hotel entrance. Good value for money, but because of age of hotel, as a comfortable place to stay it probably does not compete well with newer hotels in the 3-4 star level. Amenities in room of early 1980's vingage. Lighting in bathroom rather dim. Hot water in shower kept going from too hot to cold, which was rather annoying. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Not a bad place to stay for one night.
Spacious room with a reasonably central location in Kamphaeng Phet ”
The room was a good size and the air conditioning worked well .The bed was comfortable .Checkin was quick .The staff do not speak much English or understand it .I had big problems checking out and asking for information about buses to Bangkok ...No one understood ......in the end the only person to understand my request was a lady working in the kitchen The Hotel caters for for obviously majority Thai people .There were no tea coffee facilities in my room and trying to get a coffee was excruciating as the machine in the lobby seems constantly turned off The hotel is close by an exercise park and markets .
Receptionist at Check In Extremely Rude”
The check in receptionist needs lessons in how to address customers. She couldn’t have been ruder if she tried. Breakfast was terrible. Would not recommend or ever stay at this hotel again. They state they have on site parking! It’s NOT on-site it’s over the road!!! The security guard on the car park was extremely helpful and polite. He was the only good thing I can say about the hotel.
Convienent stop-over hotel for one night only. ”
An old 3 star hotel with ageing facilities, but staff made an effort to please. The whole hotel could do with a revamp to bring it into the 21st century. Plenty of free car parking across from hotel. Pleasant walk nearby the river Ping.
Been there for 5 years. Now never again”
The only positive++ is the bell boy k. Den. Every thing is wrong and unbeliveble! On arrival: no greating, the lady at the reception do not know how to check the reservation, I show the agoda voucher , she said the there is no reservation on my name and show me other pre check in reservations on other names if I want to take on of them! I insist to check better, se went to the back office an come back with another lady. No way my reservation is not find. The third lady arrive, very upset and told me that is agoda mistake. Finally they give me room, but no large bed, only two small beds. (FYI the hotel is almost empty) Room 311. No escort to the room, luggage self service!!! The room is bad smalling, cold shower, towel definitely washed long time ago broken and unbeliveble dirty and bad smelling. Same for the bedding. The breakfast the morning next: ridiculos! In the bast was nice buffet breakfast, now pre set menu to order! The hotel looks like the last day of operation...
big hotel on the river that has seen better days”
We were four guys on a Motorbike trip through the north of Thailand. We found this hotel using the Agoda Android app. We needed a hotel that is easy to find and where we can park our motorbikes right in front of our rooms. The place is quiet and we could park the four big bikes right in dront of the door. The staff was ok, but the hotel seems to have seen better days - quite old, but still ok.
Comfortable with access to local amenities.”
This is a good hotel to stay at, and if you have a room facing the right way, a good view of the sea. It is also close to the local markets, which are open at night time too. It is quiet there at night time, with little noise from outside too, even during the "rush-hour". The downsides were that the hot water did not work in the shower, and the WiFi was very weak.
A simple hotel in a quiet location on the river”
We enjoyed our stay. The location was ideal; quiet, traditionally Thai and on the banks of the River Ping. We found the staff helpful and welcoming. The rooms (we'd chosen the cheaper ones) were old-fashioned but clean and perfectly adequate for our needs. Good wifi/internet was a plus. And the bathrooms had plenty of hot water.
A little dated but clean”
The staff was helpful, polite and very accomodating. I would stay in this hotel again. A long way from a 5 star hotel but decent place to stay given the area. This is in the heart of a rural environment.
Nice rooms but a bit noisy”
The first impression of the hotel was not so good as I got the feeling that the hotel policy is to allocate rooms and to avoid any changes at all costs. I asked for a room with double bed but we got twin beds and the surcharge for moving to a double bed room would have been 280 Baht, a quite small sum but this gave me the impression that this was not in the schedule but just to keep us were we were. Also, my wife called the day before we arrived (as due to the short-notice booking no changes were allowed anymore by agoda) to get us a room giving to the back side as the front is towards the road. She got the answer that it would be possible but the back side is giving to a "scary temple". This, I did not find very professional. After checking in and arranging the room to our needs (putting the twin beds together), it looked much better. The room and bathroom were clean and all amenities available. The only thing is that you hear everything from the street (even if it is a sleepy town, one loud car or motorbike every five minutes is embarrassing), but "luckily", many noises have been filtered out by the noisy fan of the A/C (which did not disturb so much as it is a monotonous noise). Breakfast was adequate and also Westerners will not starve. Only really negative point that remained was that the extra charges for taxes and agoda fees were unusually high (more than 20% of the original price), so the value for price ratio is not as good as it seems at first hand. There have been added more than 6 Euro per day to the initial 29 Euro. Anyhow, even with this, it is not too expensive. Excellent idea was that the security guard of the Hotel parking on the opposite side of the street always stopped traffic to ensure a safe road crossing for hotel guests. Overall resume: A good hotel well placed close to the city center (which is not to be mixed up with the historical sites!).
Best in town”
have stayed here a few times now on the way to mae sot as it's a good place to break the journey and avoid the dangerous trip across the hills after dark. it's always pleasant to arrive here, the staff are pleasant and you get checked in quickly. best as always to get a room at the back but the rooms are clean and the aircon is quiet enough. breakfast is not great but you can get good coffee if you ask for it! no pool btw..
Good location, helpful, friendly staff”
Good, comfortable hotel, friendly staff, delicious food. Excellently located to visit the Kamphaeng Phet historical site (they have compiled a folder with different maps for activities in the area) and will do their best to point you in the right direction. Great photo opportunities at historical sites. This three-star hotel must have been wonderful when it first opened, some twenty-odd years ago, but it would benefit from a make-over. "Riverview" is a slight over-statement.
Comfortable room, friendly manager”
when i arrived i was greeted by the manager, who spoke fairly good english. he upgraded me to a de luxe room at no extra cost and gave me a map of the ancient ruins. the room was fine. the bed was more comfortable than most, not one of those very hard ones that i encountered elsewhere. the breakfast included real coffee, whereas everywhere else i stayed at on my trip from bangkok to chiang mai served only instant.
very comfortable hotel for Kamphaeng Phet”
We stayed there for one night on our trip through Thailand. Very good hotel for this town. The surrounding is really Thailand, not like Phuket or other toutist regions. There are also some small bars near the hotel.
Better of the two available”
This is my second stay here. On arrival, the towels had a bad smell. Not a problem, had it changed. Our stay was only 2 days since it was for business. Mainly a laid back atmosphere. If you're looking for hand and foot service, you will not find it anywhere here. All toll, our stay was great.
clean hotel good sized rooms”
Good hotel. Great waterfront bar at rear which was reasonably priced. The rooms were clean however WiFi was very extensive and for the price of the room should have been included for free. Breakfast was very good. Near to train station. Don't useTuk Tuk out the front of hotel as they are too expensive. Beware of the dogs out at night.
Convenient stop-over hotel when driving”
Stayed at this hotel several times when driving from North Thailand to Bangkok. It has a convenient location a few kilometres from the main highway over looking the Ping River. The Resturant or kitchen are was being renovated during our trip causing an unpleasant smell of chemicals so we decided to eat in our room. Free WiFi is available from reception desk.
