Nice room, just by the beach”
I really enjoyed my stay at Chalala resort. my bungalow was very nice, clean and had all what i needed. few steps away from the beach and its nice restaurant. pool area was good as well. i did not need any help from the staff but everyone was always smiling and polite. having rented a motorbike, distance from the fun part of chaweng (i'd say 10-15 minutes walk) was not an issue. beachfront is probably not the best for swimming in all chaweng because of shallow waters, but that did not disturb me: good swimming can be found by walking south along the beach. if you are looking for a clean quiet uncomplicated place to stay and their price fits your budget, i'd definitely recommend it!

BEST VALUE. Staff waamazing. Right on the beach!!”
LOVED LOVED THIS. Can not recommend this place more. First, the location is amazing if you love the beach. Literally walk down 3 steps and youre on it. Quiet side of Koh Samui which was nice and relaxing. We got massages on the beach almost everyday, cheap as well - try and bargain with the ladies, sometimes they let Food was quite nice as well. Pool was clean and refreshing. The staff were AMAZING. I had stuff-ups with flight plans and had to change my whole itinerary, ended up having to stay in Samui for another 4 nights and the lady at reception managed to give us a room even though it was literally last minute. They let us use the printer to prin out new flight tickets as well as their phone to change our flights and accommodation back in Phuket. AMAZING PLACE. Will definitely come here again!

relaxation in a fantastic spot on the beach”
We finally managed to relax and wind down once we got to the Chalala. The place is very Aggie Greyish and the staff are fantastic. It is only a small place so it really did feel like ours. I don't think I would stay anywhere else after being at the Chalala, it wasn't flash or large with hundreds of other guests and this is part of its charm. The location is also one of its selling features, right on Chaweng but away from the club type restaurants which can get noisy. The food was ok but with the amount of restaurants in the area we were spoilt with choice. 15 minute walk to the shopping area and they have their own bikes for hire.

Great location and very friendly, helpful staff”
situated at the quieter north end of chaweng beach, we enjoyed a very pleasant and relaxing stay, just a bit of a stroll to the busier section of beach. we ate several times at the restaurant and the food was delicious. (as were the drinks) the staff were very friendly and helpful. jazz, in the office, was extremely helpful and i would not hesitate in recommending chalala to any other tourists. we had a lovely stay.

Nice, quiet and good value”
Chalala is located north of Chaweng with only 5 min walk to the interesting part of the main street. It is a very nice location if you like it quiet in the night and dont like airplane noise every hour as the airplanes fly straight over Chaweng. I stayed on Chalala in August with my girlfriend and we had a garden bungalow. It was a very nice and big room, with mini fridge, water boiler and a great air condition. The resort has a small pool and a restaurent on the beach. The resort looks clean and nice but is of course not as fancy as the neighboors, which are much more expensive. The staff are friendly and helpsome, helped us getting sun beds from the pool to the beach.

my best stay in thailand”
This was my favourite stay in Thailand. The hotel is relatively small but has been constructed well for weary travelers. I was backpacking for 2 months around Asia and stayed in some seedy places. Samui was my last stop and this was my last hotel. I finally felt like I was living in paradise. Everything about this hotel was great. The price was very good, staff friendly and more helpful than I could imagine (especially Jas - go there just to meet her, she knows all your names), pool and landscaping was nice, the restaurant food was good, and you're so close to the beach! I love it!

Cute hotel in a great location”
We found that people that weren't staying at the resort still paid to use the lounges, have a massage and eat at the restaurant on the sand. It was quite a hub of activity. Unlike the large concrete resorts with no soul, Chalala has adorable colourful bungalows in a private setting, far enough away to get a good night sleep and close enough to stumble home in the wee hours.

Friendly family run hotel with great service”
My children loved their swimming pool and clean beaches. Great massage service and friendly staff. this family run hotel is small with only 15 chalets but their service are 5 stars. Facility are great as the receptionist 'Jazz' very helpful... She arrange every of our request e.g snorkelling trip, bike rental, transport back and to airport and reasonable price. This is our 2nd trip to Chalala and both are memorable holidays for our family. We will definitely go there again for nx trip...

Good value hotel a bit far from the center”
the hotel is located at the north end of chaweng beach. it is on the quieter side of chaweng but just a bit further from the center for my liking. it is very close to the airport about a 10 minute drive away. the property itself is rather small and there are about a dozen or so units at the property. all the units are small little bungalows. i booked a sea view bungalow but the descriptions really aren’t very accurate. none of the units have a sea view however it’s not the end of the world as you are only steps away from the sea. there are two convenience stores right across the street from the property (7-11 and family mart). the beach in front of the hotel is rather narrow. the hotel uses most of the beach for tables for the restaurant and the sun beds are right up against the water. chaweng beach after the flooding in the spring has lost a lot of sand so many parts of the beach (in particular around the area of the chalala) is a lot narrower than it was in the past. inside the bungalow, the room had a tv but no safe. you can store any valuables in the lockers at the reception. the bed was comfortable and located on a platform a few steps up. wifi at the hotel was free and worked surprisingly well. breakfast is not included but there is a restaurant at the hotel. i found the hotel restaurant a bit pricey but the food wasn’t bad. i was there over new years and one nice thing about the chalala is if you’re going around that time is that they don’t have a gala dinner requirement. most of the hotels around the area have a gala dinner requirement that range from 3000-5000 baht per person. the chalala is priced quite a bit lower than its neighbours. it is good value compared to its neighbours but the location is just a bit too far for my liking on a not so nice patch of the beach.

its exactly like stepping into the flintstones, in charming quirky way! the location on chaweng noi is superb, on the beach, close amenities and restaurants. however the actually location is essentially quiet. resort is small and we had a unit near the pool. large double bed, fridge, cable tv, wet room style bathroom and a powerful but quiet ac unit. we ate breakfast at restaurant in beach, other nights we ate at your place next door and la taverna because having travelled asia for 8 weeks we decided some italian was necessary and we weren't disappointed. reception staff were very helpful, they confirms our onward boat trip and sorted a scooter at local hire price! for laundry pop next door opposite 7/11 40b per kilo. we would definitely recommend for travellers on a mid range budget.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay in Chalala. The room was fantastic and the location, right on the beach, was just perfect. A short enjoyable walk from the main shopping area but a 7/11 right across the road. Wonderful walk along the beach with lots of restaurants to choose from. Would definitely return!

Perfect spot to relax”
Chalala is one of the best hotels i stayed. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. The room was cleaned every day and the cleaningservice was perfect. And it's very nice to relax at the pool. We stayed for 14 days and it was just the perfect holliday.

Chalala is basic hotel and if you do not expect to much it is very good to stay. Not big, very quiet and very good managed. Actually we have nothing to complain especially taking into account the pricing.

Nice little resort with beautiful garden on quite part of Chaweng”
We stayed here for 9 nights and had a great time. It's Chaweng beach, but on a quiet area. So about 15 minutes from the crazy busy Chaweng, but close enough if you want to party. It's right at the white sand beach. They have a nice pool with separate child area. Rooms are cleaned daily. Shower and also beach towels are provided. Water boiler, hair dryer and refrigerator in the room. They have a good restaurant with sea view terrace and tables on the beach. Also good restaurants within 1 minute walking distance. 2 super markets acros the street. 50 meter to the left you can rent a good motorbike for $8 a day. 10 meter to the right laundry service for $1 per kilo (2 lbs). Only minus is that they put many restaurant tables on the beach, so there is almost no room for lying on the beach. You can walk about 300 metres to the right on the beach for a nice sandy area though. Would def stay here again. We were in B 4 - far from the road, but not too close to the pool. :)

nice bungalows very near the beach”
this little resort is in the quieter part of chaweng beach about 15 minute walk to the centre of the action but a lovely walk along the beach is great the bungalows look like something from the flintstones cartoon there very nice and quiet the beach is right on your doorstep with great food to be had on the beach you can also rent a motorbike here giving you great excess to get around the island to explore
