Absolutely Perfect”
Chalisa is an incredibly peaceful place to stay on Koh Tao. My girlfriend and I were visiting the island for the 1st time. We fell in love with it along with our Chalisa Villa. After getting off the boat, we were greeted by Mr. Bear, who was really friendly. He took us to our Villa for free, and we met Nikki. Nikki showed us around our villa (beer already in the fridge!) and patio/pool. Then she showed us a map of Koh Tao and all the cool things to do there. We got a long list of suggestions and they were all great. Also, they give you a cell phone, which made things so easy. She was really knowledgeable. More importantly, she was incredibly genuine, friendly and a great host. Nikki suggested a few hikes and we decided to go on a really cool one to a secluded beach. The Villas have snorkeling gear so we brought that with, and checked out the reef. Nikki also recommended a dive school, Roctopus. We loved the instructors and the diving was world class. We went on 4 dives throughout the trip and I highly recommend it. The Villa itself was perfect. It was large and had a huge comfortable couch. Two big fans keep the room cool. There was a kitchen with all the required utensils for cooking. You also get all the bottled water, coffee, and tea you can drink. The bathroom was super chill, with a rain shower head. The bedroom was so relaxing. It has air conditioning and a fan so it’s always very cool. I loved the bed. At night you hear geckos outside. It feels so remote, but it’s literally just a short 7 min walk into the middle of town and the beach. Everything was close, but just far enough to get the privacy that you want for a nice getaway. We loved hanging out in the patio and pool. There are a few lounge chairs and a hammock. Chalisa also provides you with bug incense to ward off the mosquitos. Overall, Chalisa is the best place that I stayed in Thailand. The price is right, and if I ever go back to Koh Tao, I am definitely staying at Chalisa Villas. Book it!

Stunning villa with even more impressive service”
Myself and my g/f (26yrs old) stayed for 3 nights at Alila Villas. It was a brilliant experience for the following reasons: - the Owner Belinda and her fantastic number 2 Kung were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They recommended brilliant activities such as the snorkeling trip with their friend Roland (cheap with few others, a great day out). Anything we needed they helped with, including providing a phone to contact them at any time with questions/issues. They were truly a delight and made our stay so special. - the Villa is a 5 minute walk to Sairee Beach. So in 5 minutes you can go from experiencing the beach bar nightlife to true relaxation in a garden villa with private plunge pool and ample outdoor space to boot. I would be baffled why you'd want to stay anywhere else on Koh Tao...we also stayed for 1 night at Pinnacle Resort...Pinnacle didn't compare (not even close) and was similarly priced. - The inside was spacious, take aways deliver if you don't want to go out, whilst there is a huge selection of films for a relaxing night in. This was important for us as a couple, as we were much more interested in the beautiful daytime/sunset Koh Tao, as opposed to the Sairee Beach nightlife. Don't miss out on this place, it made our stay in Koh Tao so so special.

Perfect stay in this fantastic villa.”
We stayed at Chalisa Villas for 1 week, and can highly recommend it. The villa is clean, comfortable and has everything you need for a great stay on Koh Tao. The owners have put a great deal of effort in to ensuring you get the most out of your stay on the island. We were given a cell phone on arrival with the owners number programmed in, as well as drivers and local restaurants which deliver to the villa. The menus for which were all in the villa. The movie library is very extensive, with something for everyone. The dipping pool was great to cool off in, the kids played in it for hours! The owner was very helpful, even spent the evening tracking down the owner of a local cat that lightly nipped my ankle to ensure I could put my mind at rest that the cat was fully vaccinated, (which it was!) The villa was 8 minutes walk (with kids) from the centre of everything and 30 secs to a local shop open until 11pm with all the basics. Overall a wonderful base to explore Koh Tao and exceptional care from the owners. Thank you, we will be back to stay again.

Thanks so much for providing such a warm and wonderful place to stay while on Koh Tao. The location of the 2 bedroom Bamboo Villa / Chalisa Villas is incredibly convenient with great access to North Sairee Beach and restaurant area but still offering a peaceful haven with a fabulous private pool...It felt like a little home away from home. Lovely well equipped and very clean house with two bathrooms - everything one needs! Even Netflix! Our host definitely went that extra mile in telling us everything one needs to know about the island, best restaurants & sun downers... Highly recommend!!!

Fanastic Stay”
My brother and I had a fantastic 4-night stay at Alila Villas on Koh Tao in May 2012. The villa (we stayed in #2) had 2 large bedrooms, each with a king size bed, a spacious lounge area with a huge built-in couch & flat screen TV, and a good sized kitchen with all the amenities you'd need. Outside there was a small private pool (which we used every afternoon before heading out at night), a patio with a table and chairs, and a deck. The villa was clean and modern, and is a fantastic option if you're looking for 2 bedrooms and more private space than a hotel room. Little extras that they provided (iPod dock, restaurant menus, flashlight, medical kit, etc.) made it feel like home. Pick-up from the pier was easy (Mr. Bear was waiting for us), and both Belynda (owner) and Kung were great. As soon as we arrived at the house, Kung explained everything we needed to know and made sure we had everything we needed. Both Belynda and Kung also stopped by to check in on us during our stay. The location was good as well, as the villa is located in a residential area about a 5-minute walk to Sairee village and beach (just down the road from Asia Divers hotel). There was even a small convenience store right across the dirt path from the house. All in all, I would highly recommend Alila Villas to anyone looking for a non-hotel option on the island. For the price (about the same as an upscale hotel room), this blows away any other options on Koh Tao as far as I'm concerned.

Amazing villa at fantastic value”
My friend and I came to Koh Tao for (what else) diving. Staying at Alila was possibly the best choice we made on our trip. Belynda arranged taxi pickup for us and Kung met us at the villa to give us the lowdown. Belynda really thought of everything to make the villa your home away from home: a cell phone was provided to reach Belynda and Kung and to make local calls; delivery menus were available; a binder full of recommendations of pretty much everything you need to know about your stay on Koh Tao, including restaurant recommendations; fully-equipped kitchen; magic box with lots of movies & tv shows; the list goes on. The villa is beautiful and is as pictured on Agoda - the beds are comfortable, as is the enormous couch, and there is an outdoor area with a patio set, hammock, lounge chairs, and plunge pool. There is a safe in the villa, which is not noted on the Agoda listing. The villa is about a 5 minute walk away from the Sairee beach main strip and a 10 minute walk away from the beach, far away enough from the buzz to enjoy island life but close enough that you don't need to rent a scooter. There is a convenience store directly across the villa. All in all, I can't imagine any other accommodations that could even come close to beating Alila, bang for buck. The impeccable service was what I personally valued the most - we emailed Belynda at 11:30pm the night before our arrival and Belynda answered within 5 minutes. Unbelievable!

Great villa for long term stay and self catering”
We stayed for two nights at Chalisa Villas and had a lovely stay. We would recommend this place for longer stays as it is self-catering and we didn't really have enough time booked to buy our own food for breakfast and so on. However this would be ideal for a family wanting to stay for some time away, from the noisy partying. It is only a 10 min walk from town, you just have to be careful at night of scooters. Staff were really helpful in helping us book a ferry to Ko Tao from our current hotel, and we were offered a complimentary transfer back to the hotel which is great when you arrive from the ferry and want to avoid all the touts offering you a taxi and saying that everywhere you want to go is 'very very far!'. When we arrived staff gave us a local mobile phone with credit, adaptors, torch, maps and everything we may need during our stay. She went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time ever in Ko Tao and was really friendly. She recommend some lovely restaurants, helped us sort out a day out snorkeling with local people and even our taxi to the next hotel. We couldn't thank her enough for her help and as a result I spent a little fortune in the shop she works in: a lovely little boutique, just opposite Choppers that has so many lovely things at good prices that you can't leave empty handed. We absolutely loved Koh Tao and would recommend it to anyone who wants idyllic beaches mixed with fun nights out and good food.

secluded, spacious and lovely staff”
we struggled to find the place, the owner was unaware of our arrival (we booked the accomodation late the night before). we eventually found the villa and the owner showed us through and gave us a thorough introduction to what's available to see and do on koh tao. she even provided us with a phone for if we had questions or if we wanted food delivered. no breakfast included but it was nice to have the option to have it delivered or have it down the beach. really recommend hiring a scooter from down the road as the villas are a few hundred metres inland from sairee beach. our stay was really good, the villas were very modern, and again, the staff were lovely and helpful. would definitely go back!

Central, quiet, comfortable.”
Belynda, the owner of the villa, was more than accommodating. The villas are small, quiet 2 bedroom houses that has all the facilities you need while on holidays. The location was about a 10 minute walk from Sairee village and beach. Belynda explained everything to us upon arrival. She told us which places were good to eat, what activities were recommended. The was a tv with cable with all the channels you could ask for, a HD with a terrabytes worth of movies on it too. The plunge pool was great after walking in the heat. The only thing that I would say is that, the beds are little bit hard because of the marble base. I'm sure other people would find that comfortable but for us the beds were a little too stiff. Almost like sleeping on concrete floors some nights. Other than that, I highly recommend Chalisa Villas, it is different to a hotel and is family run business. Its like a home away from home. Would definitely stay again!

Convenient location with apartment-style living”
We arrived at the villa by taxi (we had emailed the owner to arrange this in advance), which cost us 300 baht for the two of us. The villas have their own enclosures and a small, private pool for each one. The villas seem equipped to accommodate 4 adults. They provide dish ware, glass ware, and utensils, along with basic cookware; however, hotel amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, and soap will need to be brought along with you. They are located along a developing road that is only a 10 min walk to Sairee Beach where there are many restaurants and shops. The air-conditioning unit is only in the bedroom (which we saw to be the standard in Koh Tao), and cools nicely. The rest of the villa has fans to cool the kitchen and living room space.

Nice oasis but disappointed with our booking ”
I visited Koh Tao with my husband for our honeymoon and we booked the Chalisa Villas and upgraded to the "bamboo villa." However, upon arrival the bamboo villa was not available. The pool was green and not useable so they ended up putting us in another villa with a private pool which I thought was not as nice as the bamboo. The bamboo villa was also more expensive, so when I inquired about the price since we upgraded and paid additional the host said it was the same price (when there is a clear price difference on Agoda). Also, the lock on the main door was broken so it took a few hours for them to get someone to come and fix it. These issues should have been addressed prior to our arrival. HadI known the bamboo villa was no longer available, I would have been elsewhere. I was pretty disappointed in booking something that we were not able to get. I will say that however it was a peaceful oasis away from busy Sairee beach and the host was helpful in booking a ferry ticket for us.

Nice small villa, very friendly owner.”
We arrived quiet early at the pier, and the owner of the hotel picked us up. Very friendly person, and very talk active :). We took some breakfast, and after it we checked into the villa. I think one of the best locations to stay in koh tao, private but still near to center. The owner was very helpful, and very friendly, what you can not say from the whole island. People seem to be more unfriendly as you are used to it in Thailand. But mainly i must say Koh Tao is not really part of Thailand, you dont meet any thai people there. Nobody speaks thai, if you speak thai most people dont understand you, as most staff are foreigner or burmese staff. Seems the only thai people i could find was when i rent the boat or took a taxi.

Lovely stay that feels like home”
I absolutely loved my stay at Alila Villas! My parents, boyfriend, and I were traveling together and jumped at the chance to have our own villa. Everything went perfectly. Kung was so welcoming and helped plan our whole stay. We rented a long tail boat for a day to explore the island and snorkel. While we were out enjoying our day, Kung went out and arranged our bus/ferry tickets to Bangkok. From the beginning we were given a cell phone and could call her whenever we had questions or needed anything. We took advantage of minimarts and grocery stores nearby to cook a lovely breakfast. As for location, walking to Sairee Beach takes about ten minutes, and at Sairee beach there are lots of amazing restaurants and bars.

Beautiful Koh Tao is an Island in the Gulf of Thailand that is a must see with intense clear waters ,multicolored tropical fish and friendly natives. Our stay at Villa Alila was the absolute highlight of our Thai experience. The owner\ operator Belynda's hospitality and attention to detail was unlike any we received anywhere. The suite is spacious, modern, clean with a well stocked kitchen and offers a refreshing pool to boot.Two large air conditioned bedrooms were comfortable and quiet. Kung the manager is efficient and friendly and will make you feel right at home the instant you arrive. We had our breakfasts delivered from local suggested restaurants that were scrumptious and healthy. Belynda will steer you towards the Islands culinary delights and gear your experience to your tastes. Leaving there was unanimously the hardest thing ever! Although the area was not outstandingly beautiful it was really handy for shops and restaurants. Plus it was out of the main Sairee village so really quiet. I loved the fact that it was a home... great to come back to, really spacious and comfortable. I would recommend staying at Chalisa villas!

Great location and excellent service”
Alila Villas is located in a quiet location away from the hustle in town but close enough to get to if you decide it's an option one evening. You can walk right to the main part of town. There is a mini mart across the small road and an internet cafe a very short distance away if needed for printing however wireless is provided. The owner, Belynda, is very accommodating and checked in on us regularly. She provides all guests with a local cell phone with all of the necessary numbers pre-programmed. If you don't feel like going out, like we didn't after three days of diving to get our open water certification, you can order in and a wide range of menus are provided. Belynda had set up our transfers from koh samui and also arranged a pick up at the pier. Her assistant Kung met us and gave us all of the information we needed. There is a cleaning service daily and the bungalow has all of the amenities you will need especially a plunge pool after a hot day! We loved Alila Villas and would recommend it to anyone....families, friends or couples.

Nice relaxing stay”
Was'nt sure what to expect of the Chalisa Villas. They were perfect for our family of 2 adults and 3 children. The Manager Minnie was really helpful and provided great recommendations for restaurants and an all day snorkelling trip around the island which was one of the best things we did. She gave us a phone to make contact but it had no credit so was a bit hard to contact her to follow up a few things. Sairee Beach was actually a bit disappointing - lots of tourists and a bit dirty. It is a backpacker party place so not really our scene with a young family. Lots of 20 somethings riding around on motorbikes. Not the chilled out Koh Tao I was expecting however lots of other great locations on the other side of the island we realised on the snorkelling trip - next time maybe !

Very cool host and beautiful villa , i definitley had a very relaxing 3 days stay here . Nikki was very friendly and helpful with everything around the town. The location is a 5 min walk from sairee town so its perfect if you want to explore the restaurants and bars in the village. 5 star all across !
