"We stayed in Rainbow Hill hotel as a stop over before exploring the Phanom Rung national park, I'm assuming this is the main use of the hotel. It is a small hotel, with only a dozen rooms, but it is very nicely presented and in a peaceful setting offering lovely views over the farming fields. The value for money cannot be beaten in this hotel, I've never experienced anything like it. The rooms stand alone were very reasonable rates but throw in the fact you have a completely free mini bar (fridge packed full of soft drinks and beer) is very impressive. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathroom in our bungalow was a but smelly because of the drains, but they did put incense sticks in the room which covered up the smell if you left the door open! The staff were all very helpful and friendly. They helped organise trips for other guests and had a reception area where you could use the internet (there was a public computer available) and a shelf of books which had been left by previous guests. There is no restaurant on site however the staff kindly offer to order you food in from the nearest town at no delivery charge and will bring it to your room or terrace area. I highly recommend the BBQ buffet, where they provide you with a bucket of hot coals which a stove sits on the top. You are then provided with fresh meat and seafood to BBQ yourself. around the rim of the dish you can pour hot water and vegetables to make a boiking broth/soup which surrounds the grill on top to cook the meat. I had this in a few places in Thailand, always excellent value and very tasty. Here we had it all kindly set up for us on the table on our terrace area. The hotel is situated in the middle of a field, which offers lovely views, but is very isolated. Location wise, it is 15km from the Phanom Rung national park (about 20 minutes drive) which was fine for us as we had a car. Highly recommend this hotel, you will not be disappointed."
