malibu beach bungalows looked just like in the pictures, maybe even better! the place was just gorgeous! staff was really helpful and nice, allways smiling. breakfast was really good. beach was just quiet as we hoped and sand was really white. if you want big parties, other beaches might be better for you. if you just want to lay on the beach and eat well, this is your place! just 10 minutes walk from the chaloklum village with restaurants and 7eleven.

We stayed here for 12 nights over Christmas and New Years, and would go back in a heart beat. It offers great (non-inflated) value. The staff were passive yet friendly. The classic family bungalow has the best location right on the sea with a nice porch with two hammocks. The location of the resort is the best of Chaloklum; this opinion was substantiated by the locals of that area as well. However, it is a 10 minute walk to the village. It is a family run, well-oiled machine. The owner is very well respected in the community. If you want quiet serenity, this is the place for you.

After check-in the wow-factor starts: a welcome with a fresh coconut. The next thing you see is an astonishing view at the Chaloklum bay. Rooms have a bubble bath and a very luxurious look, with an overwhelming amount of beautiful flowers to make sure this blows you of your feet also. The hotel offers extras, such as a DVD player in every room (free DVD's for rent). The staff is very friendly and cooperative. Good breakfast on the veranda with the beach at your feet and the clear turkois water as far as you can see. Chaloklum is a small fisherman town, with a non-touristic and relaxed atmosphere. All in all, this is what paradise looks and feels like!

This hostel has a few shared rooms and private rooms in a large house. It's located a little bit outside of the main Chaloklum village so you need to walk about 10 minutes to reach the main street with the restaurants. But it's really worth it! It's super quiet and submerged in nature with only a few village houses around and lots of palm trees. I stayed there for a few days while I needed to work on a report and it was perfect!

We spent 2 days of our honeymoon at Buritara resort, and we were overall quite happy with the hotel. We stayed in a seafront villa, which was really inexpensive compared to most other hotels. The first impression was not the best, since the staff did not understand english very well, and there was no restaurant at the hotel. But the manager drove us to the nearby town on his old motorbike, which has restaurants and you can rent motorbikes. The hotel exterior is beautiful and the rooms are nice. However, the drain in the bathroom was partially clogged, so there was some water on the floor when we used the sink. Not a huge problem, but sets back the overall impression a bit.

we were 2 friends staying there. we went at the end of aug, and it was almost empty. at night everything was closed at 9pm and it's 20min walking to the town (chaloklum). they didn't do the room any day, and the aacc didn't cool enough. the waiter in the restaurant was very nice and always with a smile. they can arrange a taxi to thong sala, so when we arrive we called them and they came to pick up us.

Pros: it's a good european standard hotel. Clean, new, pleasant, not damp or smelly. I really don't understand those complaining. Location is very good in the middle of Chaloklum. The beach where it locates is not for swimming but all the nice beaches like Malibu beach, Haad Khom, Haad Salad are within 5 minutes on motorbike and a 7/11 within 2 minutes walk. So if you dont know the area or if you are planning to party every night than it's not the place for you, don't book it and then complain. And it is quiet all the time even the full moon party night which we appreciated. Cons: it was quite hot to sleep, usually I hardly ever use the fan but here it was hot at night and the fan turns on only together with the light. Probably the owners can do something to fix it. And you might want to opt for an AC room. And don't expect a service with a smile from the italian host who apparently is the boss.
