Amazing location”
Our stay was for one week and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with everything! Breakfast was delicious and they were accommodating to our vegan life style. They answered all the questions we had and helped us out in our next leg of the trip. This place is great for people looking to explore Yangon. The room is in the center of the city amazing location for backpackers, people looking to live like the locals, and street food. If you're really uptight and looking for more of a resort/hotel look elsewhere. Room is clean and hot water in the shower. I would for sure stay here again. Thanks for everything!

Lovely owner”
In the middle of a Yangon-style street (thus; very crowded! But interesting), this Guesthouse was enough. You need to go up some stairs to get to it. Just look for the sign from the street, hanging from a second or third floor. It is very basic, but Ok for its price. Lovely owner, nice breakfast with fruits, tea and coffee. Toilets are not a good standard though, and wifi does not really work. If I were not a backpacker, I may prefer another place ;)

Really helpful staff and good localization”
It's the place in the city center, good point to start walking trip in Yangon. There work really helpfully people. Breakfast is good with regional ingredients. Good quality price relation. We felt asian climat. Beathroom is not cery well.

Everything is ideal - but just too hot!”
The location is fantastic, the staff could not be better, they're also really helpful, polite, warm and welcoming. But the two different rooms we had were both hotter inside than out of the rooms. If you want to pay for air conditioning, then this place is for you. Keep in mind this is a guest house and not a hostel! It's a pity that only one detail prevents this place from being absolutely perfect -- but it's such an important detail; even with the fan in full, it was just blowing hot air around and we had difficulty sleeping our entire time there. I don't know why the air in the room was so much hotter -- it was much cooler even directly in the hallway right outside our room. And the room unfortunately didn't have a window to open up...

Beware of the name”
Indeed we wanted to book Chan Myae, because it had better reviews. We ended up with Chan Myae Thar, by hazard of the name. A reminder mail on gmail was "Chan Myae coming soon". Kind of fishy, might thing it's on purpose. Bad breakfast... Bad room, no windows, smelling moisture. Bad value for the money. Friendly staff, but I think the man was abusing the kid with the work.

Worse bathroom in whole Asia!”
We escaped, after 10hours bus trip we just wanted to shower but when we Saw the bathroom we got scared. We are used to travel in budget hotels in asia and this was really the worse place we ever saw. A big open tank of black water in shower room, so humid and stinky. I asked the owner and he confirmed that black water was for the shower, so disgusting! Agoda shouldn't list places like this. Room was small but ok,breakfast very poor fruit with no taste, towels not clean, smells of pee everywhere, no air in the room at all and that bathroom........oh my god, is cheap but not worthed, don't go there,be careful:is not the Chan myae listed on lonely planet!

Very budget option”
**Don't confuse this place with the 'Chan Myae Guesthouse' a couple blocks away, like I did! The location is good, but it can be hard to spot, so be sure to have the address number. It's located on the second floor of a non-descript staywell. Shared bath and no hot water. Wifi is available. It's a bit too 'budget' for my liking, but it's cheap for a private room in a good location. Breakfast was Indian food and was delicious. Soft towel provided. Friendly service. Otherwise you get what you pay for. I would not stay again as it's too basic for my comfort level. It seems to cater mostly to solo Myanmar guys.

Lovely staff and traditional breakfast! ”
The hotel was quite hard to find, as the sign outside is tiny! But luckily the locals are very helpful and showed us the way! The breakfast was brilliant! We were given traditional food which we absolutely loved trying! The staff are all wonderful, very friendly! However sadly they do employ a young boy, which may be normal in this Country but if you don't want to support child labour don't stay here! The bathroom is shared, sometimes there was toilet roll other times not. There was also a mysterious bowl covered on the floor which had water in but people had used as a bin. On our second stay two weeks later it was still there and not in the best health! Other than that the cleanliness was brilliant! Quite a few Mosquitos so bring repellent!

Don't mix it up with Chan Maye guesthouse”
First we forgot about pick up service from the airport which was our fault. Then we mixed it up with the other Chan Maye guesthouse in Downtown which was about level or two of a higher standard (we stayed there on our return way). Location of the hotel was great - close to Railway station, Sule Pagoda. Personal was nice, speaking little English. We stayed in a room with a fan only - it was so hot and noisy (room was next to bathroom), one couldn't sleep. Due to early trip we didn't manage to have breakfast so cannot rate this part. Overall poor value for the price.

Very good”
They let me check in before 6am after my long bus ride which was awesome, basic small room, shared bathroom-can understand people complaining about the water tank for the shower but the water is clean and not the colour it looks(you’d be surprised what a lot of tanks look like-coming from someone that used to be in the water pump industry) Location is great and close to buses from Sule pagoda. I’d stay again was fine for the dirt cheap price I payed- people seem to expect way to much out of places at this price!

A budget stay in the heart of downtown Yangon”
Ok, so there's no hot water, but there is a shower. There's no wifi, but apparently that's coming soon! Designed mostly for Myanmar visitors (actually very busy) but gradually coming around to the needs of foreign tourists. For the number of people staying it really needs a second bathroom and toilet. I chose a room with a fan cos aircon is often too cold, but most rooms have a/c. Nice traditional breakfast. Clean, comfortable, cheap ($15) and convenient. Will definitely use this place again.

Sight seeing”
Staff very cooperative, centrally located. Strff helped me arranging my sight seeing. While departing they helped to go to bus station. I feel next time I will stay in the same hotel. Everything excellent

It's a 1-star hotel in Yangon”
If you're looking for a 5-star experience, this isn't your place. But if you're looking for a cheap room with friendly and helpful staff, it's good. We got a fan room at first but changed to air con because it was too hot in the room. I only saw one toilet and one shower, and there are no windows, which was the worst thing for us. But we arrived at 3 or 4 in the morning after an overnight bus ride, and staff let us into our room. The water tank in the shower area looks dirty, but that's just the tank, not the water. The bed was comfortable, and while the room is small, it was enough for 2 of us.

Basic room in excellent location”
You get what you pay for: a basic room with basic shared bathroom. Location is perfect! Staff is super nice, they helped us to book a bus to the thai border, spoke with local taxi drivers for us, etc. The most lovely detail was that we were checking out early with no time for breakfast, so they bought for us some local typical food and gave it to as as a gift! Lovely people!

Very Cheap but Windowless Hot Rooms”
This is a very Cheap but our room was windowless and very hot. Besides the bathrooms are in a very bad condition. However the staff is very kindness and helpful. The breakfast is good and balcony has a nice busy street way. I did not recommend for people who needs comfortable and clean environment. But if you want a real local experience then the hotel and its neighborhood is good for you.

Small guest house with a no frills stay”
The best thing about this place is the great location. The staff are also very sweet and offered us a cold drink on arrival and ok breakfast. Unfortunately, the rooms are tiny, dark, not at all sound proof and full of mosquitoes due to all the gaps around the door and walls. Our room had a window to the next room with a curtain drawn but we could hear everything they were saying.. The shared toilet and bathroom are not particularly clean or pleasant to use. There are much better options nearby for the same budget price. Keep looking!

Just enough for rest”
There is nothing much provided by this guest house, just a simple room with shared toilet and bathroom.
