Chandra Niwas - Dissapointing”
We stayed at this guest house for 2 nights. We arrived at 6am from an overnight bus and the owner kindly agreed to let us check in early. However we booked a deluxe double room and we were shown to a standard non a/c filthy room upstairs with a fan that blows hot air at you. I called the owner as this is not the room we booked. He advised our room would be ready in an hour! Without prompting I believe we would have been left in the wrong room for the duration of our stay. The owner and his friend took us into old Bikaner and showed us around free of charge which we appreciated. However..... on the day of check out the staff knocked our door and at 1050am and asked if we were checking out (check out is noon) We asked if we could stay in the room for a few more hours as our bus was not leaving until 4.30pm and we were the only guests staying there at the time. We were quickly told another night would be charged if were to stay in the room, so we refused. As we were packing our bags the power and water supply to the room had been disconnected an hour before check. We were unable to take a shower or flush the toilet. We found this difficult as were leaving on a long bus journey the same day. There is a lovely cafe next door with very nice people and food! We were able to stay there with our bags until our departure. Very kind! We would not recommend Chandra Niwas Guest House.

Lovely owners - Great location”
We stayed in Leh for a total of 10 days. This was a lovely family guesthouse. Rooms were ok but were more than enough for a budget stay. Nothing is too much trouble for the two charming lads who work there around the clock. Hot showers and breakfast available at any time. Would recommend! The lady who we assume is the owner is very funny and charasmatic we loved her!

Lovely staff and great food”
staff, food, outside seating area
The staff at Chandra Niwas were very welcoming, particularly the Ecuadorian man who was working there at the time of our stay. Mr Singh was also very helpful, pointing us in the direction of the bus to Deshnoke and hailing a rickshaw for us when we left. Our room was a good size and had an attached bathroom, TV and good WiFi signal. The hot water was a little lukewarm on our first morning but perfect on the second. The TV had TenCricket but that was the only English language channel which is understandable. The hotel is quite a long walk from the city and there is no street food nearby so we ate almost all our meals at the hotel. This wasn't such a bad thing though as the food was very tasty, reasonably priced and the menu was very extensive. The outdoor seating area would be lovely if it wasn't for the flies. I would definitely stay here again if we came back to Bikaner.

good place to stay again”
Comfortable, good food, friendly
Thanks for the welcoming and warm staying. Nice to relax in the graden outside the noise from the city. Handy location to take the bus to Deshnok and short walk to the fort. The food the owners prepare were the best I tried so far during my first days in Rajasthan Good place to stay again!

Excellent value for money and friendly management”
Friendly management, delicious food, good budget option
For a little bit less than 400 Rupees per night we stayed at this lovely and quiet guesthouse and enjoyed every minute of it. The food at this guesthouse is delicious and reasonably priced. If you want you can join the manager's wife in the kitchen to see how the dishes are being prepared. WIFI is working fine and the speed is quite OK for this part of India. The guesthouse is close to the fort and to the bus stop to Deshnok (for the Rat Temple). The last night we joined the manager and his wife for a drink and spicy nibbles in the garden and chatted until it was time to pack our bags. We would recommend this property to other travellers planning to stay at Bikaner. We doubted whether we should rate this property with five stars or not, but the floor was not really clean and the dustbin still had garbage from the previous guest in it.

Simple and pleasent”
price, location, staff
OK stay, the place seems to be going through a small renovation and while it is very basic I think it is a good value for the money.
