Such a nice place ! Family atmosphere !”
We stayed one week at this hotel and we extended for another week as we were feeling so well ! Very friendly and helpful staff , nice atmosphere , clean place , good restaurant and closed to the Chang Puak gate ! Perfect for us . A bath in the swimming pool (too cold for me ... ) after a day of visit is enjoyable ;)

Loved it”
You would never know this quaint little gem was tucked behind a very busy street. The pool and outdoor eating area were very quiet and resort like! Rooms, although dates, were clean, spacious with AC. Staff was very nice and helpful and the food was wonderful! I would highly recommend the Changpauk Hotel - I will most definitely be back!

Film crew in February”
The people at Chang Puak hotel are the most amazing hosts and hostesses we could ever have had. They let us do out work almost everywhere and we had such a good time with them, often involving them in the film work. I recommend this hotel with all my heart! Good food also!!

Great location and lovely garden”
Great value and a wonderful setting. The price is low and the rooms are a little dated now. But for what you pay this is a great place to stay. Very friendly staff, beautiful lobby, lovely little swimming pool and pretty garden too. What more could anyone want for such prices?

Beautiful hotel and pool with very sweet staff”
We stayed 4 nights at Changpuak hotel and found it excellent value for money. The rooms were spacious and clean with fresh towels and free drinking water every day. The pool area is immaculate and very relaxing- we often had it to ourselves. The staff here are all very smiley and willing to help you, certainly the best service we have had in a hotel in Thailand. The restuarant sells good food and excellent drinks that can be brought to you by the pool. The free breakfast was very generous with either eggs/bacon/sausage or thai style breakfast available alongside fresh fruit, toast and tea and coffee. Our transport out of Chiang Mai wasn't until the evening but the staff allowed us to use the pool area throughout the day after checkout and even provided us with towels to use the showers before we left. The only negative point I can think of is that the location is a little way away from the city centre, but tuk tuks and shared taxis are very cheap and it meant that it was a nice quiet location, so don't let this put you off. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

A gracious green refuge”
This was my second visit to Changpuak Hotel, and I'm as enthusiastic this time as I was six years ago. It's a family-run hotel, and it shows -- the staff is warm, caring and attentive. The pool is a blissful spot, and being set back away from the street, the hotel feels like a sanctuary. I can't imagine any other hotel in Chiang Mai providing so much value for the money. Oh, and the food -- I could have eaten in the hotel every night and been utterly satisfied!

Friendly stuff and relaxing graden around the pool”
stayed in the changpuak hotel for songkran 2012, in the hottest time of the year. we did really appreciate to graden and pool the hotel offer, we could always escape to the hotel for a dip and a relaxing stay by the pool. it is a bit out of the old city, a 10 min walk to the moat along a busy road, but one can catch a red truck, which are many in chiang mai. we did not have any breakfast included, but the breakfasts served in the garden cafe of the hotel, are generous, of a very good quality and reasonably priced. the room was simple and clean and cleaning service very efficient.

Quiet hotel in a busy area.”
I have stayed at Changpuak Hotel 4 times and I always choose this hotel. The lacation is a few minutes walk north of the Changkuak Gate of the old city. It is quiet pocket in a busy area due to the surrounding trees and the lush vegetation in the garden. The rooms are reasonable large for it's price and they are clean with good cabinet space. The staff is attentive, helpful and polite. The owner/manager often walk around in the garden after breakfast and having a short chat with the guests to ensure that everybody is happy with their stay. He's a very nice, polite and pleasant man who do what no other owners of a hotel of this size do. He really care for his customers. I can as usual recommend this hotel of all of my heart.

A slice of heaven”
i loved this hotel and plan to return at the end of my journeying. i discovered it by chance on your website and went there after a stint in hospital in chiang mai. i needed a place to heal and a place with a swimming pool to do gentle exercises. i felt as if i were returning to family when i arrived - such a genuine warm reception and the elephants out the front , hundreds of them (well not real of course) seemed to be inviting me in and protecting me. i spent a week there and every day was a joy - from the charming and elegant owner noi who drove me into town to her favourite linen shop; the interested staff always amused by my little forays into chiang mai and my purchases; the tasty and reasonably priced and authentic chang mai cuisine;and of course the cat with bells. i even enjoyed the singing of the national anthem each morning at 8am. better than an alarm and very beautifully sung.

Nice and Quiet with a Pool”
Firstly, I would like to say that the staff at Changpuak Hotel were really friendly, informative and helpful. The owner of the hotel even offered to take me to the post office, to shed some of my excess baggage for further travel. That was very thoughtful and even though I didn't have to take her up on her offer, I really appreciated the gesture. The room was clean and nice enough. When I was there it was rainy season, so not many people staying there, but there was a guy next door to me and he was moving his furniture around on the tile floor and it was a little noisy. I would imagine that in high season that tile floor will get pretty noisy. It was a little bit removed from the tourist area of Chiang Mai, so it was a little inconvenient to rent a scooter or get bulk laundry done (the hotel offers a piece by piece laundry service. The pool was very nice and relaxing and it was the main reason I chose to stay here. It is a little bit out of the way, but it was a really nice place to stay, and I was treated very well - thank you

A hidden gem.”
Chang Puak Hotel is located 5 minutes walk north of the Chang Puak Gate on the north side of the city wall. The hotel is quiet due to the lush vegetation and it's 100 meters away from the Chang Puak street. The manager and staff are very welcoming and helpful. I stayed there 3 nights in the end of November, at Loi Khratong(lantern festival) and I got a detailed map which spot in town I should go to get the best view. Very good and reasonable food, nice and clean pool for a refreshing morning dip before breakfast. The beautiful Thai architecture in wooden reception area and restaurant together with the lush tropical vegetation, give this place a tropical ambiance that's hard to beat. It's also very clean all over the whole place. I walked around a lot, and 7-11, nice food stalls and street vendors is just 5-10 minutes walk away. I will recommend this place to anyone and will stay there on my next trip to Chiang Mai next year.

Nice, quiet hotel just off the main city centre.”
Checked into this hotel on a recommendation by a local who's my friend. Was pleasantly surprised by what greeted me. As it is, Chiang Mai is a very green city set in the mountainous region of Northern Thailand. It a quiet little motel just off the main city centre; A short 5 minute walk to the brings you the moat surrounded style "old" Chiang Mai town. I can't say much about their ability to cope with a large crowd cause it was obvious I checked in at a very quiet period. But nonetheless, I found the accommodation ample for this price point. Little niggles? The bathroom a bit small. The air conditioning a tad noisy (not a problem during the colder months).

Lovely hotel with the friendliest staff! ”
our room was a standard double, great size and very clean. breakfast wasn't included in our deal but we ate at their restaurant numerous times, very good food and reasonable prices. the staff were very friendly and helpful, they definitely made our stay better. the hotel is located near the changpuak entrance of the old city so it's about a 15min walk to the centre. the night bazaar is quite a walk away but you can get a tuk tuk easily.

Great place, lovely surroundings, do it!”
this is a well kept secret for it's price. the service was friendly but you need to be patient as the english is very poor though that seems to be the case in chiang mai everywhere. so don't ask for directions or help from hotel staff. the rooms are very big, clean and really nice. the food is pretty good also but limited menu and you can't ask any questions about it they don't understand. one negative is the bathroom is so small i doubt a large guy could turn around in there and the water is not so hot or strong. no tea or coffee making in the room and only nescafe available at the bar. i bought a kettle. i am staying there again for sure. loved it.

Good location, very close to Changpuak gate”
It was nice to stay in Changpuak hotel. They just changed the internet campany so wifi didn't work in the hotel rooms but free internet was available in the computer room on the 1st floor. They have a nice outside cafe and swimming pool. You can relax in the afternoon on the poolside.

Outstanding staff, great value”
this hotel was an amazing value for plus tax during high season. although furniture might be outdated and the décor is kind of retro, the price cannot be beat. moreover, the place was very quiet and relaxing. staff is also very friendly and helpful. the location of the hotel is not too bad either. the moat is easily within walking distance and there are plenty of tuk-tuks on the road. a tops supermarket (turn left on changpuak) and a 7/11 (turn left on changpuak) are also within walking distance.
