              Delightful Surprise”

The Chankam Boutique Hotel is a great boutique hotel centrally located in the old city of Chiang Mai. Within a 20 minute walk of the entire old city, and even walkable to the go-go bars. Perfectly quiet for a couple or a great night's sleep it is off the beaten path. Great access to all the main roads and attractions and they can book those things for you in the hotel. As soon as I saw my room I thought it would be great if I ever came back on my honeymoon. Very unique and well maintained hotel. I highly recommend the Chankam Boutique Hotel. Great value, location, accommodation, helpfulness, cleanliness, and overall Thai aesthetic.

              People, location, decor

Not a lot online about Chankam because it's only recently opened. This place is BEAUTIFUL. The people are incredibly friendly. the location is phenomenal. Only open for 6 months, imagine the more people that find out about Chankam the worse off it gets for fans of this 12 room boutique hotel. Stayed for 6 nights and walked everywhere. not a single taxi or tuk tuk, granted I like to walk in a new city. Best thing, it's on a quiet residential alley. They have free pikes to use, a great breakfast and lobby. The fastest wifi on my entire 2 month trip (including faster than places in Australia.) No expense has been spared. It might be a little more than what you need to pay in Chiang Mai, but you get every penny and more. They want to make sure you are happy and check in with you a lot. But never over bearing. You can't go wrong. Love this place and wish them the best.

              Excellent Hotel in Old City”

This boutique hotel is located in the old city, which means it is walking distance to everything in that area. The room itself was comfortable, super clean, and had a few nice touches. Wifi worked great. The front desk lady there is one of the nicest people I've personally met. She's so sweet it almost makes you feel like family. Very good experience here, and will definitely come back if I'm in Chiang Mai again. Oh and they have e-scooters at the hotel that are rented for 300 baht for 8 hours. Its a great way to see the city if you don't want to walk or take taxis.

Charming hotel but do not stay here if you do not speak Thai”

The Chankam Boutique hotel is hidden inside a residential neighborhood within the old city walls. It is clearly relatively new and beautifully furnished, but the communication barriers made it extremely difficult to love my 5 days here. Starting with check in, the front desk attendant June was extremely sweet, but didn't understand more than a few words of English. This would continue to be an issue for the rest of the stay. The first issue was the constant overcharge for transportation. The airport is no more than 10 minutes from the hotel, yet I was charged over $20 USD for a ride from one of the hotel employees. Definitely get a tuk tuk, do not use their car service unless you don't mind paying extra. The next day I was adamant about hiring an English speaking driver to take me to Doi Suthep to bring me to both the temple and also up to the palace gardens (only 4 km further up the mountain). They told me in order to get a taxi (not a driver in a private car) for 4 hours, I would need to pay 1500TB. Mind you, I have taken multiple tours including an AMAZING 6 hour cooking school an hour away with an entire English speaking staff for 1600TB. An entire day at an elephant sanctuary including lunch and transportation is 2400TB. I tried to tell them that this was an overcharge, but it was barely a conversation because the communication is so poor. I told them that I wanted to go to the palace gardens, only 4 KM up the road and they said it would be an additional 500TB for GAS! I said, why would it be another 500TB if I am paying for a 4 hour rate? Shouldn't they go anywhere that I ask? They cited traffic being an issue, and I understood because Songkran is super busy in the city. But we were leaving the city right outside the west side wall where the hotel is situated toward the national park and there was literally ZERO traffic. Regardless of Songkran, 2000TB for a taxi ride 20 minutes away to Doi Suthep (even though he waited for me) is insanely high for Thailand.

Excellent Hotel - quiet part of the 'old city', modern, clean, wonderful staff. Highly recommended”

Found this hotel by chance, were very fortunate we did. Located in a quiet local part of the 'old city', it is away from the noise and yet a short stroll to all the best places. The hotel is new, just 3 years old, and everything is clean and modern in perfect condition. The online photos do not do it justice, it is better in real life. The staff could not be better, smiling and most helpful all round, faultless would describe them all. The GM takes the time to get to know you, assist with anything you need and it adds the personal touch lacking in larger hotels. A unique hotel in modern Thai boutique style, with much attention to detail. We would always stay at this hotel again and extended our stay by another 5 nights. 5* hotel with character, charm and exceptional service. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay just perfect :-)

Loved this hotel. It is located in the back lanes but for us this wasn't a negative and it's very easy to get into the centre of the old town. Equally being on the edge it's easy to get straight out too. There are also lots of hidden gems to discover in the back lanes. Rooms very comfortable, clean and great shower. Originally booked for 2 days but we loved Chiang Mai and the hotel so much we extended to 4 nights. The hotel are kindly storing our luggage while we spend a couple of nights in Pai as we couldn't take it all on the minivan which was hugely helpful. Staff are very polite, helpful and friendly

              Quiet refuge ”

We enjoyed our time at Chankam the staff were friendly and very helpful. The Hotel is on a quiet side street, but you are central to old city area. We loved our traditional styled room that felt homely. We also took the free bicycles for a ride around old city. The only thing lacking was no swimming pool. We would definitely stay at Chankam again.

Small boutique hotel, clean and new. Good service and great staff.

We enjoyed our stay at this small hotel. The location is convenient and close to main attractions. Staff is very friendly and the room is nice. Room is equiped with Nespresso machine and there are free soft drinks in the mini bar. We also were supplied with fresh fruits. We recommend this place for a relaxed stay in Chiang Mai

              We Highly Recommend this Hotel”

We were unsure what to expect but took advice from Trip Advisor Reviews. They were spot on. From the quiet residential backstreet location to high quality of food and personnel. The hotel was beautiful, comfortable and clean. High quality bathroom fittings and high standard of cleanliness throughout. The owners have done a fantastic job of designing and decorating the hotel to high standards. Free mini bar (non-alcoholic) replenished daily. In room safe was easy to use but in all honesty we didn't bother as it is a safe place to be. Not a scenic view but an interesting view of local rooftops and nearby buildings being renovated. Very quiet area and no sound from other residents/neighbouring rooms. We tried to remember to order breakfast the night before as requested but forgot on one day. We apologised next morning and asked if we could still have breakfast even though we hadn't ordered in advance and they laid a table for us and asked for our choices with no problem. The food was superb. Eggs Benedict were lovely and poached eggs were great. We are not keen on US style bacon rashers and so we asked for no bacon that came automatically with the poached eggs option. next day we were given frankfurter sausage and ham. Next day we wrote "no Meat" next to poached eggs option! The food was accompanied by a selection of various types of mushroom, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower floret, snap peas, edamame beans in a variety of combinations. We also had cereal, toast, pancakes, fruit, yoghurt, juices and more to choose from. Good tea and coffee. The staff were so obliging and friendly they put British owned hotels to shame! We won't hesitate to go back and can't recommend it highly enough. It was fantastic value for money.

room size, location and ac make it a average hotel”

              good service, good breakfast, clean.

I came back with a sore throat because the ac was blowing cold air right on the bed. The staff taking a look at the ac or even to move to another room did not solve this. The traffic in Chiang mai is just awfull so you can forget about going anywhere without a taxi because there are no side walks and I am not sure anyone would enjoy surfing in the middle of all sorts of vehicles on foot. Nothing was interesting within reasonable walking distance. The service was good though, good job by the hotel team.

Excellent Boutique Hotel In Old City”

We absolutely loved this hotel. It was in the Old City and very walkable to all there is to see in the town. We were in town for Yi Peng and could walk to all the restaurants, temples, and to all the festivities. They also include bicycles for you to ride around town, which I highly recommend. Overall, very happy with choosing to stay at this hotel.

              Really lovely boutique hotel”

              Quality, service and friendliness

We had a lovely stay here over New Year. The hotel is relatively new so we were a little unsure whether to book without it having any reviews. We shouldn't have worried. We were met at the airport, late at night by two extremely friendly members of staff. The rooms are lovely and very well thought out, each having a fresh coffee machine and balcony. All the staff were very friendly, the breakfasts were great and generally everyone at the hotel couldn't do enough to help make your stay as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible. I'd definitely recommend a stay here.

We had a lovely stay here. Very clean and beautiful rooms and staff go above and beyond (letting us use their phone/printer, helping us arrange tours, etc.). There are also free bicycles we used frequently to get around. Located in a great area in the Old City, walking distance to everything. A/C is very cold, we even turned it off at times. Perfect!

Off the beaten track but will go back again”

Very nice small hotel with only 12 rooms. Full of character and with staff from the General Manager down to the wait staff are ever so polite and ever ready to assist with our inquiries on things to do. They handled all the bookings without any fuss and are so accommodating. if you prefer a hip and happening location, this may not be for you. Saying that, all the hip spots is just a short taxi ride away. For me, it was just perfect.

Bed was comfortable. Room was good size. Location is in central Chiang Mai but not in the busy/touristy part of the old city - we had to take a tuktuk to restaurants. Night staff English was limited.

Good deal for the money ”

We paid $40/night so definitely a good price for the deal since we were out and about most of the time. Everything was nice and clean, except the elevator had a gross fishy smell but we were on the 2nd floor so stairs weren't bad. They have free bike rentals you can take out at all hours which was nice. Staff was very helpful and friendly (if they weren't sleeping 😂) and location was great. Away from the noisy town but close enough to get around.
