Wonderful experience”
We were so fortunate to have the opportunity to get to know this family. My 7 y.o. daughter loved playing with the other children (and the puppies). Yummy food, good location. Highly recommend.

Perfect place to begin our holiday in Cambodia”
Thomas, Channa and the children were very welcoming and great company, full of interesting information and stories. We loved being out of the city, the sights and sounds and the escape from the business. Its a perfect base for seeing the temples too. The evening meal Channa cooked for us was amazing and Thomas's home-baked bread was delicious for breakfast each day. We have very fond memories of the whole family and their pets.

Pleasant Stay”
Overall I had a good time staying with Thomas who is Danish and Channa his Cambodia wife and their three lovely kids. Channa is a very good cook making tasty local Cambodian food daily. Food is bought fresh from the local market each day. Joining the family for khmer styled dinner is U.S. $ 10.00, initially this wasn’t made clear, so you’ll need to check first, rather than just except an invitation to join the family to eat. Breakfast - if included, is home baked rolls with cheese and coffee. It's a lovely house, although the area is quite secluded, down a single-lane dirt road, about a 15 minute drive north of far from the crowds of Siem Reap, so taking a return trip to town for food by tuk tuk will cost you U.S. $10.00 anyway. The main house has two rooms and a bathroom upstairs with a sitting room in between, with the family's kitchen downstairs (their bedroom is in a separate building/garage?) My review relates to the room in the main house The room was nice and spacious. Bugs and mosquito’s are quite a problem, however, the bed had a net and mosquito coils were occasionally given which helped a lot. The room and bathroom were basic but clean and plenty of hot water. In one review on line reads - ‘It needs to be made clear as you arrive that bikes are charged for, not lent out’ I got to use the bike free of charge. In another .. ‘We had a very good time in the home stay until the point when the owner wanted to charge us for a breakfast that we never ordered. When he saw that we were not happy with it he asked us to leave (we already paid the homestay). The only criticism I have really is that, they do seems to be quite ambiguous regarding the charges - so its best to ask first, to avoid any unpleasant surprises - to be honest I was surprised getting charged US $ 10.00 for a home cooked meal which I thought was pretty steep.

Wonderful rustic stay”
They are a helpful and sweet family, you can't get closer to Angkor, and the rustic house is beautiful.
We were a group with two couples and had a marvelous time staying with Thomas, Channa, and their three kids. The main house has two rooms and a bathroom upstairs with Thomas' private office in between, and the family's kitchen downstairs (their bedroom is in a separate building). The place is definitely rustic so animals and bugs could get into the rooms, but the bed nets and mosquito coils help a lot. It's a gorgeous house, Thomas is adept at helping with any problems that come up, and Channa's cooking is delectable. The house is within the Angkor park (they built it before the park was made), down a single-lane dirt road in a village about a 5 minute drive north of Siem Reap. We mostly stayed in hotels during our month in Thailand and Cambodia and this was definitely my favorite place!

nice stay in a familiar athmosphere :-)”
friendly + helpful people, nice garden, nice insight in daily life in cambodia
our second feedback es we have had two single bookings, both our evaluations relate to the rooms in the house, we haven't had a room in the garden cottage. ~ we liked it so much to stay few days with this nice family. we could take part in their daily life, eat breakfast + dinner together + learn a lot about cambodia. at night, there was a huge 3m python snake encircled by the dogs in the garden, so we could see how the villagers caught that dangerous but poor animal ... the hotel is a little bit outside of siem reap, so you need to get a taxi to come to the market, night arket or the restaurants. but if in angkor wat / siem reap, you will probably have a taxi driver booked for the whole day when visiting the historical / natural sights anyway

Mixed bag”
Good location if you are willing to cycle - near the temples The room and bathroom were basic but clean, and it was good to meet other guests
Overall I had a good couple of days, but I very much got the impression that they are tired of hosting tourists. It seemed like hard work to arrange basic things like a meal, tuc tuc or even some drinking water. Thomas is a bit stand-offish, and seemed annoyed all the time.

Wonderfully relaxed and quiet close to Angkor ”
Breakfast with homebaked rolls and khmer dinner, personal touch, bicycle distance to Angkor
What a beautiful experience in touristy Siem Reap, far from the crowds, feeling at friends home with Thomas, Channa and their lovely childrem. The house is located in the middle between Siem Reap and Angkor Wat, so it´s possible to visit the main sites by bicycle - and there is a wonderful tuktuk driver Suchea, who brings you to the other sites further away. For breakfast there are freshly baked rolls and i absolutely recommend the khmer dinner by Channa, the best vegetarian khmer food we had in Cambodia. The room was nice and spacious, the bathroom the best, we had for month, traveling South Asia.

Relaxed, great place to stay to see Ankor Wat.”
location, nice family, good room price
Good. We enjoyed our stay here. Really nice family and home. Very close to Angkor Wat.Needs to be made clear as you arrive that bikes are charged for, not lent out. Would of liked to have eaten with family most nights and mornings so maybe the family can send a quick email to confirm dinner on evening of arrival or daily, make the time they are eating clearer, as they buy the food from the market that morning. We had to ride into town to buy dinner elsewhere. When we had Channas dinner it was lovely! Would recommend this and breakfast.

A Glimpse Into the life of a warm-hearted family”
Good food, good conversation, and very helpful.
The Homestay is off the beaten track almost exactly 3k from Angkor Watt and 3k from Siem Reap. The family provided breakfast, dinner and a bicycle at very reasonable cost. I was able to bike to the temples and the city, then retire to fine conversation replete with helpful suggestions. They are warm and loving people raising their children on a couple of acres full of life. I would not go there for peace and quiet but to touch the lives of a friendly and good-natured family.

We had a fabulous time in this homestay!”
The fresh bread every morning, great location, bikes to use
Channa's Angkor Homestay is a wonderful place to stay solo, as a couple, or as a family. The family is extremely helpful. The husband makes fresh bread every morning for breakfast. They know several trustworthy tuk tuk drivers that will take you around. We used their bikes two different days and "Downtown" Siem Reap was an easy ride from the house. Homestays are not for everyone, so if you want the comfort of a luxury hotel, this is not the place for you, but if you want to meet a great family and their dogs, they go for it! We would go back!

Very bad experience with the owner”
Location, Quiet, Simple
We had a very good time in the homestay until the point when the owner wanted to charge us for a breakfast that we never ordered. When he saw that we were not happy with it he asked us to leave (we already paid the homestay). That's was really rude, brutal, unappropriated, and shocking... under the pressure we had to accept this breakfast despite our really small budget (we are students). Beside it the rest of the family is wonderful and the place beautiful.

Wonderful experience staying with local family”
Location, doing a homestay with a local family and beatifully cooked meals in the evening.
I had a wonderful time at Channa's homestay. The whole family were so welcoming and friendly... I really did feel like a part of the family for my stay. I found there was a perfect balance of time spent with them and time relaxing enjoying holiday time. They even lent me a push bike so that I could ride to Ankor Wat which was only ten minutes up the road. It was nice to be just out of Siem Reap but also still close enough to ride into on the push bike. It was great after a long day exploring to come home to Channa's delicious cooking and the local knowledge given was invaluable. Also amazing was the Tuk Tuk driver who is recommended by the home stay. I used him on several days for my longer missions and evenings out in Siem Reap. It was reassuring to have someone like him driving you from A to B given the craziness of the local traffic conditions. I'm most grateful for my Whole travel experience at Ankor!
