Nice beachfront hotel
3 best things: (1) nice beachfront view (2) convenient location - accesible to the hip part of Alona beach where restaurants and shops are located (2) the room is very spacious and have a beach view
Our driver from the pier to charlotte hotel had difficulty looking for the place because of it's off from the main road. The hotel structure was nicely built but not maintained very well.. It looks worn out and you get the feeling that it's not clean.. There was no tv but the aircon, fan, and flush are all working very well. There was no wifi and the local phone/internet signal was also very poor in the area. We are a bit worried about the security because there was only one main lock, and the main door looks like it can be easily opened, and also there's ni lock in the cabinet.. Luckily though, there were no missing items from our luggage during the duration of our stay.. For me, the place is not for those who are looking for a luxurious accomodation, but the view and location made up for that.

Not worth the money
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel is at the end of alona beach. By night there is no chance to get there without getting wet. The rooms are dirty. Water broke trough the roof and insects joind my bed while sleeping. The doorlock did not work eighter. There is no reception and no person to talk with. Underall they have wifi. I would hardly recommend to join another hotel at alona beach. There are a couple of nice hotel and resorts at the same price range.

iStaff and location save this tired old building
Right on Alona beach at the quiet end, genuinely friendly staff, the house dog
Enjoyed our stay but if you want a grand entrance, all the comforts, and food on site, this is not for you. Stunning outlook, lovely genuine staff & beautiful swimming.

Great location, not for luxury seekers
Sea view, location, big rooms
I have mixed feelings about this one. Some may love it, others may be less impressed. Initial impressions were poor. If you arrive by road, as I did (rather than walking along the beach), it is not easy to find, down a track with no signs - not even when you get there. There is no proper reception area either. Although I had a reservation, I felt my arrival was unexpected but the staff were very friendly and I was soon given a room. Like many hotels in the Philippines, this one gives the impression that it was very nice when built but now looks rather tired and a bit scruffy. After a while, though, I warmed to the place. It has a super location, right on Alona beach - down one end, where it is quiet but still an easy walk to restaurants, etc. Rooms are large and enjoy a great sea view. Although they are not luxurious, apart from TV they have everything you would expect to find in a better hotel - and some things you don't always get. Mine had 2 double beds, aircon, small refrigerator and hot/cold water dispenser, fan and hair dryer. The bathroom was large and, though dated, everything worked, including the water heater for the shower, which is often not the case in Philippine hotels. I even had free wifi in my room, whereas many hotels charge or only have wifi in public areas. I think the price is rather high for the quality of the rooms but their size, sea view and location can't be faulted. On balance, I liked the place. If you want a more stylish hotel, or a livelier area, the other end of Alona beach is better. If you like things laid back and quiet, the Charlotte is worth considering, if you can get a good price.

It was great for the price. It did not have a TV or internet. But the beach made up for that.

No water supply and insects seen
Big room but no adequate facilities....
I arrived there at 7pm or later...I barely find the receiptionist...the tricycle driver helped me to shout for assistance...two girls finally came out, handed me the key and showed me the room....then they disappeared... Later I found there was initially no hot water supply for bath..and later even no water coming out at all!!! ..I hardly finished my shower then get downstairs to ask for help....but there were no one! Finally I got help from the security guard...he helped to turn on the water pump....and he also gave the password for wifi.... No TV in room...I would had been totally disconnected with the world if I did not access wifi... WORST STAY so far...as it is not cheap....

A very special hotel along the beach
very quiet from the busy part of the Alona beach. a fantastic sea view from the room balcony. super value deal.
Our stay was great. What I like most is the room balcony which is facing the beach so closely. You can hear sea waves and palm tree leaves sound at night while you are on bed. The pretty Korean keeper is so friendly and helpful. The room charge fee is way underpriced. This is a super value deal!!!!

Newly renovated, no front office resort
fast internet connection, close to beach, beach view from balcony
Stayed at Charlotte Beach for 3D/2N. From the pier, the tricycle drivers didn't know where it was and kept on telling us that maybe it was a new hotel. Found out upon arrival that it had just been renovated. They do not have a front office yet and a local who would just be sitting out front would just assist you and give you towels and toilet papers from their main hotel. She would only be available on office hours though. Close to the beach with a beach view so you can just sit and stare. Also offers island hopping tours and land tours.
