This is s nice hotel. I was paying less than 1,000 a night which was quite good value. It's close to the station and in a really nice quiet area. The only negative was cigarette smoke coming into my room via the ventilation system.

The beds are comfortable and it’s a great location. It said there was a breakfast buffet but we only got a tray of noodles to eat in our room. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Decent and well located”
The room was good size and clean, with shower and bath tub. Stayed there during very low occupancy (Covid19 time affected many hotels in Taiwan), even though the hotel was almost empty they strictly keep their 3 pm checkin time, not even a half hour earlier - but this is a standard in Taiwan, they never let you check in earlier if the room is available, as in Thailand or Malaysia for example...

Extremely Good Location ”
Hotel is located in good location. About 100m away from Hualien Railway Station, bus terminal and Tourist Information Centre. Nearby are eateries, shops, convenient stores, restaurants... etc. Friendly and helpful staff with good knowledge of tourist spots and advices on public transportation. Clean spacious room with snow white towels and good quality toiletries. This is not the first time I stayed with this hotel, and it won't be the last time. I enjoyed my stay and very please with the staff performance. Until now, I have never thought of staying in any other hotel in Hualien City. Will be back to stay with Charming City Hotel, a hotel that I feel so much at home.

Great location near Taroko Gorge”
Charmin City Hotel was an excellent choice for our two day stay in Hualien. It is a short drive to Taroko Gorge and the East Coast Scenic area. The hotel staff were very helpful, attentive, and spoke English. The hotel offers free bikes for guests to borrow, which is very convenient when getting to downtown restaurants. There are some restaurants in the hotel area, but most of the restaurants are several blocks away. I would recommend Charming City to anyone traveling in Hualien.

Clean, comfortable hotel near Hualien Station”
The Charming City Hotel was an excellent choice for our travel around Hualien and to the Taroko Gorge area. Just a short five minute walk from the station, the location couldn't be better. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. The room was fairly small, but the bathroom was spacious. Overall, great value for the price.

Honeymoon”
As we arrived in the Middle of the Night on the 2nd of May 2015 and very dark outside. So we call the Hotel for the actual location as we first time in Hualien. The staff of the Hotel is very helpful and suggest that they can sent driver to fetch us as it raining. I like to give a thumb up for the staff of Charming City Hotel Hualien. Thank you.

Lovely hotel ”
Hotel “Charming” is a very nice place. You can easily see its gray brownish 10-storey building when exiting from the railway station of the city of Hualien. So no need for taxi, just walk there. The rooms was great: spacious and clean with a bathroom with a tub. There was a cable connection to the Internet. So if you have a laptop just ask the reception to give you an Internet cable and you can connect your device to the socket near the writing table. The breakfast has to offer a large variety of food, a really big choice but 99% of it being Chinese, like for example there was a dish called “salted duck eggs”. They also could offer an American type breakfast. But it looked not very nice although it was quite edible. Lunch and dinner have a very limited choice of Chinese food, none of which we enjoyed. They serve their famous beer called: “Taiwan Beer”.

Good Stay”
At the time of booking, I was surprised of its price, because it is relatively inexpensive for standard triple-room. Probably it is because Hualien is not a metropolitan city like Taipei. Overall, it is a well-built hotel, clean, close to the MRT station, and the staffs are friendly and they speak English as well, helpful for foreigners who don't speak Chinese. If I have another chance to visit Hualien, I will stay at this hotel for sure.

One of the Great Hotel Rooms and Facilities”
Got the complimentary Hualien Rice as we checked in. And complimentary wine/ice cream which can be redeemed throughout our length of stay at the lounge. This the place if you want to look for a cozy hotel in Hualien City. But be aware the location is a little bit far from the city centre but its just 10 minutes walk to Hualien Main Station. The hotel's food is just as standard as many other hotels, so if you want to taste/ have a bit explore of the local food, just go to the restaurant nearby.

the staff at Charming City Hotel Hualien were incredibly helpful and took great care of us. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. The lobby smelled a bit musty but it was very humid while we were there, so I think it is safe to blame the weather for that. Everything else was very clean.

Excellent Hotel with Good Service and smiles”
this hotel is quite new and modern. it is just 5 mins walk from the tra hualien train station. the room is very spacious and very clean. the staffs are very friendly and helpful. though it is not near the city centre shopping area but, this hotel provides a one-way free shuttle ride to anywhere in hualien, e.g. the night market and city centre.

Excellent Service and Great Facilities”
Room was very clean and service fantastic. When we returned from our day's tour, we were surprised by a staff delivering fruits to our room. The counter staff were equally attentive and they not only know we were the guests but they also remembered the room we were staying and handed the room key to us without having us to ask for it. There is no doubt we will recommend Charming City Hotel to our friends and relatives. P.S. I just received my Visa account statement and noticed that I had been double charged by Agoda Hotel Reservation London and Charming City Hotel. I'd appreciate if Agoda could look into this matter and let me know the resolution for this issue.

Great location very near to Hualien Station”
Hotel are very near to Hualien station about 5-10mins walk away.Can be easily spotted when step out of station. Hotel room are quite small but are clean and modern. Ice-cream or wine are given as complimentary by hotel every night. As for breakfast, porridge lovers will suit their taste and american breakfast can be placed with waitress. It is very convenience to book tour package at the hotel counter too. Customer services at the front desk were excellent. Highly recommend to anyone staying overnight in Hualien.
