The worst experience in my life”
We are so disappointed with this experience staying in Charter House - We did not have hot water and electricity; We could not take a shower and charge our phone; We could not sleep well as the AC leaked all night and made lots of noise. I wrote an complaint email to Charter House after checking out, and NO RESPONSE AT ALL.

Problems with room & communication”
There was no warning on website of their plan to have a nightclub new years party directly under our rooms. The bass kept up till 1:30 am. The rooms sink was not draining properly, even though I asked 2 times for a repair. And no mattress protector, which means a sheet between you and thousands of other bodies. Even though i requested one.

Great room but noisy walkway for people walking back after the pubs shut. ”
The hotel itself is great. Really nice rooms, really clean, excellent facilities, and lovely staff so no probs there. The location at the weekend seems had lots of loud people on their way back from the pubs using the side of the building as a cut through. Either that or sat on the benches outside being sat loud late at night. If the windows were double glazed it would make all the difference to my decision to stay here again. Such a shame as the place itself is fantastic.

Guys, pls see the check-in time in your booking details and confirm the same with hotel, I had a very hard time. In my booking confirmation email the check-in time was stated as after 09:00 so I checked out early from another hotel in Sandown. I reached hotel at around 10:00 on Sunday morning with my two kids and I was surprised to hear from the reception that the check-in will start only after 15:00 and she went on to say no hotel in the world would offer early check-ins! I showed her my booking confirmation email and to that her reply was its a mistake on the site I booked my ticket from. She took my number and asked me to walk around the town and she will try to get me in by around 12:00.I was walking around with my two kids in anticipation of a call from her, but big disappointment, no call from her.then another promise was 13:00 and then 14:00, she didnt give me even a single courtesy call.She insisted check-in starts at 15:00 but its 14:00 as per hotel policy! Disappointing!!!

Perfect location in central Newport and lovely room with thoughtful extras. Harder for carrying heavy cases or if disabled as no lift to upper floors but would definitely return
