Great spot but watch the concrete dust if you are ”
Overall we enjoyed our stay. Pluses were the lovely colonial architecture and lush mature gardens. The nice big room with separate bedrooms for parents and kids to have space from each other was great too. The location is great - actually in the town as opposed to the large international cookie cutter factory hotels that are right outside of the town. This meant walking was very easy - for example 2 mins to lucky plaza for supermarket supplies or 5 minutes to lilypop or try me restaurants, or a 10 min gentle walk to pub street. Downsides were the hard tour sell immediately after our arrival and check in. It was clear we weren't going to be shown to our room until we heard the full sales pitch - despite telling them we had already booked a tour. The other big downer was the intense gagging concrete dust that regularly wafted from the neighbouring hotel construction site immediately behind the swimming pool area. The swimming pool was great at the end of a long day visiting the temples but the dust - particularly when the noisy concrete saws were operating was awful. I know it's outside the control of the hotel - but the 7 day a week operation (we stayed for a week so we know it was every day) was a bit too much to bear. We had to go back to the hotel room to escape the dust and noise and one member of our family developed a serious cough as a result. I'm not over stating the dust - as evidenced by the fact the hotel needed to bring an a standalone swimming pool filter system to clean out the dust from the water when it became very murky at the end of the week. The infamous hard wooden furniture as mentioned in other rooms wasn't too bad and was good for not encouraging too much tv viewing by the children. That said, half way through our stay some new made to measure cushions turned up that has removed any issue at all. We got a room on the first level overlooking the pool that was a nice outlook (construction dust and noise aside). Overall I would recomme

Pretty nice hotel, let down by the hard sell”
It was my second time to Siem Reap though the first visit was around 10 years ago. A lot has changed since then. The hotel room was nice enough, huge and with a dining table and sitting area, it was fabulous with the kids, it was meticulously clean but quite dark. My favourite part of my trip last time we're the lovely Cambodian people that I met but this time there was a hardened edge to most of the people that we met. As soon as we walked in the door we were hit with the hard sell for tours etc.

Grand stay at affordable price”
My husband and I wanted to treat ourselves to a nice stay in Siem Reap. We were initially reluctant to book their 83sqm suite but it was worth it. It was big yet a bit homey and edgy with 2 balconies and a view of the pool. Buffet option was decent and staff are attentive. We had a free drop off to the airport too. The location is excellent as it's a few minutes away from the bridge and the FCC and row of mid to high end shops and restaurants.

Exceptional”
We loved staying at the" Chateau".It was in a great location, just a two minute walk to restaurants, a supermarket and ATM and a quick tuk tuk ride to the old market and pub street. The staff were extremely lovely and went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. The pool was nice and very necessary after a hot day sghtseeing! Our apartment was huge and had beautiful traditional furniture, but the couch was really uncomfotable. A nice comfy couch would have made our stay just perfect!!

Everything is good execpt a misleading spa menu”
The location, room-size, restaurant of the hotel are probably one of the best in this price level in Siem Reap. The staff are generally nice and helpful, however, there is a misleading spa menu offered by the hotel. They have an affiliated spa from the hotel right on the opposite side of the road and it said everything is 30% off. I booked a package and when it was done, they said the package was already discounted so the discount could not apply to the package. I didn't see any information about that on the spa menu.

Above average”
The Hotel itself is good but some staffs there are impolite. Checked in at 3PM and I also confirmed that i have more family (older) than 2...at that time if Hotel Staff told me must add extra bed i would do it. But they called to my my room when we almost felt asleep around 830pm. This is rude. Agoda can review my account i used to stay at mandarin singapore; the hotel allows us to stay with three persons and if we dont need extra bed is ok...its our choice BUT WE DO UNDERSTAND HOTEL POLICY BUT not wait to tell in last minute.

Our staffs are taught on how to be friendly and polite by their manager, if we read other reviews, we can see that other reviewers said, our staffs are friendly and helpful. However, your experience is different – according to your review. At the time of check-in, you (alone) came to our reception and asked for the room key – since you are our regular guest, you don’t need any receptionist to take you to your room because you have know where the room is. You told our receptionist that some people are in the car – we expected that the number of people should be matched with the booking. But there were 4 adults and 2 children stay in the room. It doesn’t make sense to book a room for 2 persons, but wanted to stay for 6 persons. After we got the information, we called to your room many times but there was no answer - you only picked up the call at about 8:00PM.

Superb!”
This hotel is superb. We reach airport at 8am and the hotel staff was already there to fetch us to hotel. When we reach the hotel, the receptionist provide us a very detail and welcome briefing. The hotel staffs are really friendly and help us wit our request through out our stay. Just a little imperfect is the location of the hotel is quite a distance from the main town but no worry, tuk tuk is easily available there. And there are construction going on at our next door but this doesn't become a main concern as we still sleep well in such a cozy hotel.
