A wonderful dream-like stay”
Chateau de Colliers is an authentic chateau with history dated back to 18-century. To be honest this is my first ever stay in a real chateau - previously I had stayed in one operated by a hotel group. Me and my wife love this family-run B&B a lot as for the length of your stay, you feel like a family member!
The chateau is well-maintained and it is like you can feel the history with every single step, through the wooden floor. It is situated next to the Loire and you can have a great view of it in the backyard.
My room was clean, tidy and spacious. It nicely-decorated and faces the main gate with sufficient natural light coming through the big bright windows. It did not deter me much but the toilet is opposite to the bathroom across the entire width of the room.
The owners are welcoming and we were allowed to visit the entire common area (which is big enough) on the ground floor with furniture and art decor similar to that you can see in Chateau de Chambord but in a smaller scale.
We were grateful that while the B&B does not provide meal, we were given suggest with clear direction to the restaurant near by. By the day we checked out we were also given a discount voucher for visiting Chateau de Chambord (which is just 10 minutes away).
Would definitely recommend this Chateau to anyone seeking an unique experience.
