not centrally located but nice resort/spa”
Overall a good experience, the hotel sits on a waterbody so the surrounding seemed peaceful. nice friendly staff at check in, clean and comfortable room facing the pond/lake. Its location is quite far, so it would be more convenient if you drive esp if you want to do day trips etc. we got the coupons for spas/pool. The spa/onsens are big and i enjoyed the outdoor ones (they call it earthen bath, water is yellow). they also have saunas and steam bath in the spa/onsens area. good selection of restaurants with varying budgets. the fitness centre is not part of the hotel room package, need to pay an amount to get into the fitness centre/gym.
A Happening Resort ”
I love the set up this hotel so HUGE that unlike any Japanese Hotel/ Resort. Just the Spa area a bit smelly.
Extremely huge, its a Kingdom!”
This hotel is open by Chateraise, well known for its cream puff. They have their own pastry shop near the onsen. Onsen was satisfactory. It snowed heavily on the night we arrived, snow piled high about half of our Toyota Serena. That's one downside for outdoor parking. Spent about an hour clearing the snow for our vehicle. It would be a very fun hotel to stay in the summer.
Great Outing for the kids”
After 7 days of travelling around Hokkaido and staying 4 persons, 2 adults and 2 children, in prison size rooms this hotel was a welcome relief. It was clean like many Japanese hotels but the big plus were the large rooms, a water theme park with heated pools which felt fantastic on a cold day, a great onsen with 8 soak pools and 2 saunas with different temperatures. Fantastic! Location is a bit far from downtown Sapporo but that suited us fine as we were done with sightseeing. Pool and onsen also needs a bit of walking but its worth it. We ate by the poolside in our wet swim wear. Food was reasonably priced and tasted quite good too. Overall our best hotel stay in Hokkaido.
This hotel is total opposite of a Japanese Hotel e.g. Quite. It's like hotel in China. Crowded.”
Room is good and large but there's no japanese ropes. Huge Spa but very smelly like public toilet in Malaysia. Other than front office no staff speaks english.
Funny place for family ”
There are good swimming pool& spa pool , it is very suitable for family to go there for fun.
Great hotel with lots of attractions!”
surprised to find out the hotel comes with a big swimming pool with spiral slide, like those from the theme parks. the spa is very nice too! overall very clean.
The hotel environment is excellent”
The hotel environment is excellent, facilities keep well but getting old and need re-decoration. Room is much bigger than hotels in Sapporo, it is clean and comfortable. Shuttle bus stop can easily found outside the North entrance of Sapporo JR station, but it take 40min for each travel. Special thanks to Mr.Ito, he is an excellent and professional staff who help us a lot during our stay. For sure we will consider this hotel when next trip to Sapporo.
Don't stay here”
Way too inconvenient to stay here if you want to visit Sapporo. The shuttle takes 405 mins to and from the train station. We thought it way overpriced not including breakfast. You have to,pay for the gym, pool, onset. I would never recommend this place to a foreigner.
It's a fancy resort”
This place was wasted on me (I only wanted a place to stay the night, which is hard to find in the Summer, on Saturdays in Sapporo). Lots of activities. Spa was closed when I arrived (very late close to midnight).
Comfortable stay with large bedroom and toilet.”
Fast check in and check out even when counter staffs do not speak English, me and my husband managed to check in using simple Japanese. However morning peddlers are really early and can hear their sound around 4a.m. That kind of shocked me as it was unexpected. Clean and comfy big room plus nice scenery makes our stay a memorable one.
Putney, Sydney Australia”
Didn't expect the hotel is in the middle of No Where Too far ....from shops or Sapporo CBD. It's 45 minutes by the shuttle bus , the Hotel is good for young family with kids under 10 or for the elderly.
Resort accommodation away from the city”
It was good overall. The rooms were small but clean and comfortable, Wifi in the room was very fast and FOC. Staff were friendly but could not speak good English and a little more initiative would have been great. The food was really just fair or poor, especially given that Hokkaido is the source of many fresh foods and ingredients. The hotel is far from the city but the free shuttle bus makes up for it.
Good Spa Hotel”
Location very far, hotel shuttle bus have too many stops before raching the hotel, almost one hour long,if change to direct route and no stops will probably cut off 15 min. Offer pick up from airport wolud be a plus.
Hotel provides shuttle bus from Sapporo JR Station. It takes about 45 minutes from Sapporo Station to the hotel. You could shop and eat at JR square and then return to the hotel to enjoy spa and fitness facilities.
Nice hotel but far from Sapporo”
Really enjoyed my time at the Chateraise Gateaux. Would definitely stay there again. My only complaint is that it's difficult and expensive to travel from downtown Sapporo to the hotel. The hotel bus from the downtown bus station made it a bit easier, but you really need to plan accordingly in order to meet the bus.
A bit old but great facilities”
we reseved for a semi-double room but the bed was wide enough - about 140cm in width. the bathroom was spacey unlike most business hotels. though the hotel was a bit old, we liked the spa and the pool. for only , it's really worth it!
far location but great rooms”
overall satisfactory except for its location,it's abit far from city of sapporo. there's a free shuttle bus from sappora station to this hotel, so if u stay here remember to opt for this shuttle bus instead of taxi, it took me to get to this hotel from sapporo city centre
