I had a fantastic time at Chelsea Cabins. I was a lone, female traveller staying here for 2 nights. It was absolutely perfect for my needs - which was to be in central location in Manhattan to sleep, shower and store my luggage. Yes the rooms are small and the bathrooms are shared, but you have everything you need. Space under the bed to store your suitcase, a shelf to store your belongings, a bedside table and lots of hooks. If you go in knowing and understanding that you're in a capsule hotel, then you shouldn't have a problem. The price and location can't be beat. You get a towel, lots of free lotions and potions in the bathroom area. Breakfast is free, as is luggage storage, and the staff do everything they can to help you - it's not fancy but it's great value for money in a very expensive city. My advice: Bring ear plugs - let's be honest, Manhattan is a noisy city, and opening and closing the doors to the capsule rooms can be loud. Bring flip flops to shower in The reception is up 3 flights of stairs but you can ask for help carrying luggage up. I want to give Michael a huge shoutout especially - he did absolutely everything and anything he could to make sure my stay was comfortable. I am hugely appreciative!

Superb location, right next to the New York train station, close to the main road, and a 15-minute walk to Times Square. There are many eateries on the street. Each small partitioned room in the small hotel ensures everyone's privacy. The shared shower rooms and toilets are clean, and there is free shower gel and body lotion. There are also hairdryers and irons with ironing boards. From 9 pm to 9 am, no phone calls or chatting are allowed, and showers are not allowed after 11 pm to avoid disturbing others' rest. The landlord is very attentive and the details are well done, with no strange smells. The free breakfast with various jams on bread is quite delicious, and there are also oatmeal and milk coffee. Thank you to the landlord and a young man for helping me carry my heavy luggage to my small room. Will definitely choose this lovely little hotel again next time.

Nice to have your own space and the bed was comfy! Not a place to party, and probably not the best if noise bothers you when trying to sleep as the pods don't have a real roof and sound transmits very easily. I am a deep sleeper so had no issues. Bathrooms and showers were clean and breakfast was a nice bonus! Staff were very friendly. I would definitely stay again.

I want to commend this great hostel for it's cleanliness, quietness, good location, and great value for money and most of all the staff. I came here on June 4th with big luggage and funny thing thought my phone got pickpocketed. They (Michael and Lumi) tried to help me check it in CCTV or call my phone. Luckily it was just stuck inside my luggage cover. They also helped me carry my luggage. They maintain the peaceful and relaxing environment by always reminding people not to have calls or showers late nights. And not to slam the doors. Michael is such a wonderful manager. Elle is also lovely. She helps with breakfasts and I had chance to had conversations with her on my last day and even packed a bagel and cream cheese for me. I would definitely recommend and will stay here once again once I get a chance to visit NYC next time.

I really liked the place and I totally recommend it. Michael, the owner, does everything possible to make you feel safe and comfortable (specially if you are a young woman traveling by herself, like me). The only not so great thing is that, because there's a shared bathroom and shower space, there might be some dirt inconveniences when using the amenities (bathroom, showers and common spaces are cleaned daily) because other people might not be so clean as you (it happened to me, but I have high standards). Finally, just two comments for reference: it is a third floor space with no elevator. The ceiling space of each cabin is open for ventilation, so you can hear mostly everything of what's going on. I am a heavy sleeper, so I don't care about this, but some people might have problems in this regard. All in all, I would totally recommend this place!!
