"This hotel is in the middle of the flower district so it was pleasant each day walking past flowers and palm trees. There is a subway stop at the end of each corner of the block. The only drawback was one of the reasons I booked this hotel instead of others is because of the rooftop bar. This was closed the entire week we were there. I was told the rooftop bar is operated separately from the hotel so they had no control over it. "

"Although the rooms were smaller than I expected, it was sufficient for me and my 2 children (teenagers). The bed was super comfy and they had a good range of pillows (firm and soft) on the bed. According to their room guide, you can ask for other types of pillows if you didn't like those on the bed (foam maybe?). The heater/aircon in the room worked really well. And the view of the rooftops from the window was picturesque, especially after snow fall. The bathroom was compact but complete. Hot water worked well and the water pressure was good. Their hair dryer (mounted on true wall) was good too. My only point of improvement for the Holiday Inn would be their restaurant/coffee shop. The one time we ate there (9am), they closed the kitchen and didn't tell us that our last order wasn't placed (because of the closed kitchen). So we were waiting for nothing. The food quality though was excellent. The pancakes fluffy and the French toast perfect. The bacon was perfection. "

"Great hotel for the budget traveller. Nothing particularly fancy - clean, decent rooms, free wifi, and the staff are very friendly. I would happily stay again. Close for Chelsea and the high Line. A few blocks down from Penn Station make it walkable even with luggage. There is a good, basic breakfast, with lots of coffee. And a "proper" filter coffee machine in the room. "

"A rare find of a new hotel with international feel, clean rooms, eager staff, great food, and right in the heart of Chelsea. Up to standards of other Melia properties around the globe where I've stayed. Minor knock was no business center room or quiet area to take a call on main lobby level. Jason was a very attentive and gracious host/manager. Highly recommended"

"Stayed 4 days in 309 hotel,2 through hurricane Sandy (lost power in the last 2.The position of the hotel is its greatest feature if you enjoy the best food, who doesn"t. 1minute to Chelsea food market which has the cheapest and best lobsters in New York, and 10 mins walk to 23 street to the Italian eatery (Eaterly) as its called which also has the finest food anyone will enjoy. The hotel itself is quite old,but for ourselves it great, we chose the shared bathroom option, usually 2 on each level and only meters from each room. This was ok for us as they were always clean, but you can have your own for maybe $50 dollars more per night.Metro station is also only 1 minute walk,so hop on the transit system because its the cheapest and best way to see anything(Get the full size metro map at any station with a person selling rail tickets."
