Little gem in the Nimmanahaeminda Road / Nimman area”
Pleasantly surprised. Super price for a comfortable and clean room in the Nimmanahaeminda Road / Nimman area. Sure, sound proofing could be better, but rooms are clean, cheap and comfortable and well located. Breakfast is great and the staff are helpful. Recommended.
Room is clean. All the amenities are there. Coffee and water galore. great Breakfast, Location is unbeatable. Hopefully get a room close to the ground floor. NO ELEVATOR. other than that, fantastic.
Budget Hotel, Great Location”
This is a comfortable, basic and quiet hotel. The 'free' breakfast was most disappointing (for a vegan/vegetarian there were no meatless hot options apart from toast with limited spreads). They have a coffee machine at the very least and some juices to choose from. The room itself is big but sparse. Comfortable bed and good air-conditioning, clean surrounds. However, nowhere to unpack clothing onto and only two hangers provided for shirts. The bathroom was huge but the lighting in there was too dim to even use the mirrors effectively. I had a balcony room (facing the street) but didn't go out there as there was no seating. The Wifi was average; dropping out during busy times although working fine in the early morning hours. Reception staff were friendly and were happy to book me a car when I needed to leave. Neighbouring restaurants and cafes were great.
My favorite hotel in Thailand”
Had a great time here. On my trip, we traveled a lot in Thailand, but the two nights we stayed here were very relaxing. The hotel was beautiful and near a decent amount of nightlife. My only negative is that the location is pretty far away from the daily activities we had planned closer to the city center. Also, the sign out front is really small and our cab drivers drove past it every time even though we told them where to go.
Great small hotel in a nice area of Chiangmai”
Nihman is the area to be for cafes, restaurants, shops and bars. It is the bobo area where the young Thai meet. It is full of creative places to discover. The hotel is super well located. It is lovely, clean and welcoming. The staff are very friendly especially the receptionist. We recommend it and we hope to go back again.
I would recommend this beautiful hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are new and well designed. We were within walking distance of three modern shopping malls, cafe's restaurant's providing any cuisine from Indian/Chinese/Korean/Thai/American. This is a developing leafy area with all the latest designer goods available plus market stalls. Two minor complaint's, the cable tv was not working while we were there and the breakfast was a bit limited, but just across the road was an excellent restaurant providing healthy breakfasts at reasonable prices. I have booked again for February and hope to become a regular.
Clean friendly good value, nice modern area”
Nice modern surroundings with good amenities
Simply charming ”
From the outside this place looks very unassuming but inside the lovely old front door the taste and charm of everything immediately make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The gentle lighting, original canvases and wall hangings take your breath away but somehow at the same time make you feel completely at home and very peaceful. I've never stayed anywhere quiet like it but I will stay again. The only negative is the breakfast coffee which comes out of a machine like a big ink jet printer using concentrated nescafe, however the area is full of good places for coffee and breakfast so this is a very minor inconvenience. The rooms are tasteful quiet and comfortable.
Don’t think about coming here if you have a vehicle and are checking in during the evening. . If you find parking at all, it will be a long walk or bus ride away. The standard room is better than the suite. Suite is beyond weird and even dangerous. Bed is a mattress on the floor 9 feet up with a slippery ladder climb required. Easy to fall. Railing is inadequate also. Not safe and forget it if you are elderly or physically impaired. Location is good, as is most any location in Nimman. No elevator. Pleasant staff. Breakfast simple, but fine. I think an ok place if you get a standard room and have no vehicle to park.
2 night in Chaing Mai”
We enjoyed our two night here in Chaing mai. On our previous visit we opted to stay in old town, so enjoyed a different vibe in Nimman. The room was very big, clean and had good facilities. We also had a small balcony which was an added bonus.
A trully boutique hotel”
I had an amazing experience. The hotel is beautiful in every single way. The decoration makes you feel visiting an art gallery. The staff is extremely friendly. Location is perfect. I could experience the best of Thailand in Chiang Mai. Smiles all around and people being fair with tourists - when it comes to 💰.
Great location, avarege stay”
The location of the hotel is excellent. Within walking distance of all little restaurants and shops. The room was simple but pretty big. Coffee area was outside the room. Breakfast could have been better. Only had 2 options to choose from.
Great location, amazing service”
The hotel is very centrally located in the Nimman district of the city. Plenty of restaurants and cafes on the street of the hotel itself and adjacent/parallel roads. No trouble at all getting a tuk tuk or a red truck from here and the mall and many great spots within walking distance. There are at least three 7-11s down the road from each side too (though this seems to be norm all over the city). Breakfast, albeit simple, is reasonably varied and the kitchen staff are ever willing to please, even to the point of remembering your meal preferences. Excellent sweet and smiley reception counter staff and great WiFi coverage. The common area on the first floor is another big plus point. All in all, excellent and definitely value for money. (We took the top floor suites that come with beds on a little loft and a nice balcony).
Nice location with friendly staffs ”
The hotel is locate in the Nimman road which very convinience to travel around chiang mai city. The hotel is very nice and cozy. Staffs are helpful and very kind. Easy check in and reasonable price. You can rent a car direct to the hotel.
Art gallery hotel with friendly staff”
The hotel located in good location with many restaurants and coffee shops. The room is clean and staff is really friendly. The hotel is modern with art decorations but no lift, you have to walk up to higher floor. The Breakfast is good but not variety.
Good location, cheerful staff, nice interiors”
Hotel had beautiful paintings lining its halls. Tastefully decorated lobby. Room was spacious. Staff were super cheerful and helpful. One of the rooms given to us smelled of smoke and as my mom was sensitive to it, we requested to be moved and they did so immediately. We requested that our breakfast be boxed as we were leaving at 5am, it wasn’t a usual practice but they obliged after talking with the manager/owner. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and dessert places, short walk to the mall. No elevators.
Clean, reception friendly, good location”
Bed was a little too hard. Room was clean and with enough space. The balcony was a good thing. Service at breakfast could be much better with more options. We always had the feeling to be requesting too much, if we wanted to have e.g. a scrambled eggs even though it was not on the menu this day. They always have 3 different meals to choose. Front desk service was very polite and helpful.
Strongly recommended ”
We are very happy with our choice. The staff are super friendly. It's located in a quiet alley of Nimman area yet so close to everything. The room was spacious and clean. There's a hairdryer provided in the room. Breakfast was nice. Will stay here again for sure next time we r in Chiangmai.
Second Time at Chaiyo and will be back!”
This is a great little boutique hotel in the heart of Chiang Mai's university area. There's tons of cafes, pubs and art galleries within walking distance and old Chiang Mai isn't too far away by car or public transpo. Cute rooms but the beds are a bit stiff for those who like softer sleeps. Breakfast is meh but given the location, style and price - I'd definitely stay again.
Enjoy staying in this little hotel as we like the area. The rooms are very basic but comfortable. there is no gym or pool or any facilitys like that but its only a small cosy place. The staff are very friendly, we love chaing mai
