Best hotels & accommodations in Chiang Mai Riverside

We especially enjoyed this hotel, as it felt smaller and personal than some "boutique" hotels in Chiang Mai. The location is good, even though it is slightly outside of the old city. (If you use Grab for taxis, you can have a super easy/affordable time visiting any part of Chiang Mai!) There are some nice shops and cafes nearby, and it's not difficult to walk into the ...

Impressive design and service. Great location by the ping river and reflects the term of "sanctuary" claimed by the hotel. (own vehicle required to move around). Breakfast was one of the best we ever had with great selections - local and international, served by a la carte menu style (doubt if it will be too busy and slow in peak season) . Will recommend to anyone (alr...

I stayed 3 nights in Tamarind Suite. Room was spacious and nice. When I was considering about booking this room, red wall over the bed was quite annoying but in reality it was not a bit.(Red in pics is quite bright than really is) All staffs were very kind and ready to help. Swimming pool in roof top was not huge but big enough to relive stress and enjoy sunlight of ...

This is probably the best neighborhood in Chiang Mai. And I'm Chiang Mai native. This small boutique hotel is located in a way less touristic area of Chiang mai but is still in a short-strolling distance to Chiang Mai main spots like the waroros market, night bazaar, Ta Pae gate and etc. There are lots of cafes, eateries, art galleries, and boutiques nearby. The hotel ...

The At Ping Nakorn Riverside hotel, is a nice and relatively small-size hotel. The hotel facility is new,. Noticed that trees & garden have been recently planted (from observation). The old-style decoration makes the hotel looks nice and quite impressive, all flowers placed in lobby and restaurants are so nice. The breakfast is quite good, and staff service is great. ...

after leaving bangkok to discover thailand's north, rarinjinda was a refreshing resort to escape the big smoke. in a fantastic location by the river, it was an easy walk to the centre of chiang mai but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle of the local markets at night. don't think that this resort is secluded though. there are some great restaurants on th...

This is an absolute gem in Chiang Mai. Before I made the decision to stay in Ratilanna I've been to the most 5 star hotels in Chiang Mai to compare. Ratilanna is stunning, great architecture, decor, beautiful lobby, business centre, spa, gym, wonderful pool, restaurants, Buddha statue. It is relatively a small hotel (75 rooms) but big enough to have all the facilities...

Although this hotel is a few miles from Chiang Mai it is in a lovely peaceful setting and very tranquil. It is ideal as an away from it all location. There is a free shuttle service into Chiang Mai by boat in the morning and by minibus at night. Our room overlooked the River Ping and was well thought out in its layout. You could lay on the bed or in the bath and en...

The resort is not in town area so you will have to get a transport to go to the Night Bazaar or other places in the old city area. It is located in a small street and its subtle minimalist design is a pleasant surprise in the neighbourhood. Fantastic and helpful staff with good english. This is a great hotel with good price. The hotel is on the riverside with stunning view of an ancient pagoda. Breakfast by the river in the morning was great, and drinks in the evening with pagoda lighting was even better. The room was wide and well-decorated and large tub. Staffs were very helpful with excellent services. The price offering was quite reasonable. ...

We stay in Sibsan for 5 days with kids of 7 and 9 and it's our favorite hotel during our 14 days trip of Chiang Mai. Its a new hotel, very good located near to the night market. The pool area is simply great and peaceful. The hotel provide us with breakfast (buffet) snaks and coffee the whole day and always water for free. There is 2 min by foot a 7-11just in case one need smth. The outstanding part of a boutique hotel is service and Chiang Mai Riverside is excellent in service. All staff are very accomodating. The hotel is new. It is tastefully decorated. We had booked into a guesthouse which turned out to be terrible and so we made a last minute booking the next morning for this place. Headed straight there after and although was 2 hours before check-in time the lady on reception was happy to accommodate. We had booked for 2 beds in one of the dormitories, but as they didn't have 2 spaces in the same room she instead...

We booked 3 nights in this hotel but decided to stay for 7 nights because we really liked it. The location next to the river is beautifull and the staff is really friendly and helpfull. The hotel itself is an 120 year old building and is also really beautifull with very nice rooms. We enjoyed our stay here and when we are in chiang may again we will certainly book this...

At first I was unsure about this hotel, as it is quite a ways away from the old city and center of Chiang Mai, and I was given a room on the street side, which felt quite cramped and had no view. But upon asking to change rooms, the very friendly, helpful staff quickly accommodated my request and moved me into a beautiful riverside room, which was absolutely perfect. T...

Sheik Istana is a bit away of Chiang-Mai bustling center and will require that you arrange your transportations (we conveniently rented a small motorbike from the Hotel), but it rewards you with a nice rooms and hotel set up with garden and pleasant breakfast area for a reasonable price. Internet was working well, staff was helpful. We had a nice stay.

It was my first stay in Chiang Mai. I was afraid of being too far from the main attractions, i.e. the old city and the temples. Those fears disappeared the first day. Actually the old city has nothing peculiar, it's not like the old city of Lijiang for instance where the architecture contrasts with the new city. In that way, Chiang Mai city itself is kind of disappoint...

In geneal staying in the Imperial hotel in Chiang Mai was a very good decision we made. It was located not in the heart of the center but just 5 minute walk from there. A very high quality of service and a good value for the money we spent, compared to other fine hotels where the prices are 2 or even 3 times higher.

I had an amazing stay at Tawan Court. Staff was always smiling and friendly. Room is your typical "budget" style room and the A/C rocked. Bed was good, room very clean and good shower pressure with hot water. Nice and quiet location right across from the Night Market and Night Bizarre. When I return to Chiang Mai, I will stay here again for sure.

Great helpful staff here. It is one of the best guesthouses in Chiang Mai (I have stayed in several) and very handy to Night Market. Bonus is two good restaurants within 20 meters and the RIMPING supermarket just across the street too. Not the cheapest place but certainly one of the best.

Right across the bridge is the Night Bazaar. It's easy to get transportation from the Riverside House Hotel and the staff is happy to help you if needed. They have a very nice breakfast buffet too. We enjoyed our stay there and look forward to the next time we're there.

The location and the view are the best in Chiang Mai and the room is much more wider, comfortable and price is reasonable than I think. It isn't fair that so many reviewers write so much dissatisfaction and underestimate the review at this price.Everyone writes so many unfair bad things, so visitors are decreasing at this hotel and management falls a vicious circle. I...

Very enjoyable, relaxing, tranquil and peaceful stay - Little bit from the old town so Taxi App Grab is essential - Only negatives and very minor at that - Massive trees block out the sun from the pool area and as such water remains baltic all day - Breakfast could offer a little bit more of a verity like some cereals - Would definitely recommend Granary Resort as a ...

The Grace House is an awesome place to stay! It was about a 20min walk from the train station and was easy to find. We got in at about 8am and they let us leave our bags until check in, around noon, while we walked around town. Very close to the Night Bazzar and a leisurely 15min walk from the Old City. Upon checking in, the room was clean with a big comfy bed (double...

Baan SongJum is a super friendly place, run by two sisters who live on-site and speak perfect English. They are from Chiang Mai, and have travelled extensively, and so understand travellers' needs. Location very good, near tourist area, easy to find, rather quiet environment. 7-11 nearby. Small place, rather old building, not very orderly nor sparkling clean, but has kinda homy feeling. This place was perfect for our family of 4 (32, 32, 5, 3 yo) ; we wished to stay at a place where we could connect with locals, experience chiang mai from outside of the tourist zone and have a quiet inviting space. Pros are great strategic location, clean room and quiet place, available water cooler, security card access and good staff service. Stay at ground floor furthest from entrance. Cons: Only issue is sewage smell from water in bathroom basin during usage. Owner need to do something about it. Otherwise everything else is fine.

the train into chiang mai was four (4) hours late (brake problems), so about 1am the tuktuk driver helps me by waking the night manager and they are happy to help me with my bags up to my room, leaving paperwork to daylight hours. mr sawat has travelled a lot and is good to speak with (great english as well as french and dutch). I stayed there 2 nights in a single room, with two friends staying together in another room. We just went out each day for work, and come back at night to sleep. The location will be convenient for you only if you have a car. If you do so, several places in Chiengmai are within 10-15 min drive. The hotel is 1.5 km deep from the main road. As the name implies, it is qui...

The location is great surrounded by art galleries, café and pub & restaurant (Goodview and Riverside). Simple American breakfast is included in the price. The room is clean and cozy. Almost the entire house is made of wood, very classic. Staff is friendly and very supportive. The house is at the back door of Wat Ket temple. Highly recommend!

This is a new hotel. It is within walking distance to the city center. The rooms were spacious and clean. Friendly and helpful staff. There is a travel agency located in the hotel. They are helpful in setting up tours if wanted. We would recommend the Dante Elephant Camp tour. You learn to ride an elephant bare back and ride the elephant through the jungle , then to a ...

We had a wonderful stay at River Arts Hotel. Super gorgeous grounds, very cool art everywhere, clean and spacious room! The hotel staff upgraded us to a larger room at no cost and the bed was very comfortable. The only downside was being a bit out of the way from all the action of Chiang Mai. We still enjoyed our stay.

This place is for backpackers. I think you need a special form of taste in interior decoration to appreciate this. place The rooms are retro with (very) old TVs etc. the floors are polished grey concrete. The owner is very nice and helpful. The place used to be a house, but is converted into a 7 room guesthouse.

I booked this cottage as a surprise present to my parents for their anniversary. The cottage was lovely. It is far from town city centre which was what we wanted. I have been stayed at different hotels in Chiang Mai several times, most of them are quite nice. Athitan is very impressive by its beautiful surroundings. More about Chiang Mai Riverside
The most popular entertainment district in Riverside is due north of Navarat Bridge, which spans the Ping River and connects the old city’s Tha Pae Gate to the train station. The bridge marks an area known for its dining, drinking and music venues. Good View and Riverside restaurants dominate the riverfront. They feature live bands playing a mix of pop music, western covers and jazz.
North of Good View is Vieng Joom On Tea House, with its river terrace and relaxing atmosphere. The Ping River itself is a popular place to play during the day. Long-tail scorpion boats can be chartered, or active types can rent kayaks and see the river themselves.
Accommodation in Riverside is sophisticated, and it’s joined by condominiums that are popular with retirees and expatriates. This means the foreign restaurants and international markets in this area stay busy year-round and offer a great selection. Guests can follow the iron bridge across the river to find the Night Bazaar, a tourist magnet that convenes every night. Further north along the river is Yaowarat Market (Kat Luang), where Thais buy clothing, furnishings, spices and snacks.
Aside from a few Buddhist temples, there aren’t many historic attractions in this part of town. All that’s needed is a short ride by tuk-tuk or songthaew to reach the old city, where ancient temples and the remnants of the old walls await.
