Wonder full Experience”
I will suggest, go and stay here at least once. The experience you gain here...i feels so gooood. 5 star heritage hotel with excellent staff and service. The only negative point is about my outstanding bill. When we requested for our outstanding bill, and the staff told us they will give us 5 min before we check out. Bill was provided when we reach reception and was informed i already paid 5000+ rupee via agoda and how much balance should i pay. Since we was on rush i just paid what was requested to pay. But when i came back and check i had already pay 7000+ via agoda and not 5000+. So make sure you know what you had pay and take time to double check your bill. This is the reason why i give only 4 star for the staff. Otherwise they are too good.

Building fantastic, food less so.”
1. Painstaking, careful & empathic restoration/refurbishment of a wonderful building by Sangam Hotels. 2. Nice pool. 3. Location in village with other mansions viewable on a quiet easy stroll.
Very enjoyable on the whole but with a few weaknesses, eg food which was not really up to scratch for such a wonderful place. Even the festive Gala Christmas buffet dinner was rather limited and ordinary.

The service is excellent. The food is the best. ”
The staff. The food and the ambience.
A very good stay because of the rich history. The staff like the manager and chef Arun Vikas made the stay a pleasant one. The food is certainly better than even that we had in ITC Grand Chola.

Real Chettinad feel”
Feel, Staff, Food
We spent a couple of Wonderful days at Chidambara Vilas. The restoration and maintenance of the building is well done and it gives you an amazing feel of a Chettinad home, but with modern amenities. Staff was caring and helpful and took care of individual guests needs well. The pool also was great!

Beautiful mansion hotel. ”
Design, Staff, Food
We had a fantastic experience here. The hotel itself was an old mansion which had undergone meticuluos refurbishment to maintain it's identity & culture, while incorporating modern amneties. One word: Beautiful! We could spend a whole day in this villa. It was so relaxing & quiet. Rooms: big, beautiful, clean & comfortable Staff: extremely friendly & helpful Con: Slow wifi

What an amazing place!”
back to the past
This hotel is a XIX century "baroque" palace. Amazing and beautiful in a very awkward region of Tamil Nadu: The Chettinad. You feel like returning to the past, amongst maharadjahs and rich traders. Difficult to describe the feeling. At night, the view from the terrace roof is wonderful. Excellent local cooking

Nice house, but poor value for moneyand ”
Quiet (even too much), nice renovated house
Nice renovated house, big and comfortable with large rooms. Hotel is a bit too quiet though and there is not much to do or visit in the area. Swimming pool area is ok for a couple of hours, but not more. Service was ok; staff has perhaps to anticipate more the guest needs and expectations. We found management was poor (overcharge on some elements and disregarding others, without prior information). Food needs improvement (breakfast too poor and dinner repetitive and overpriced). As for the price, very much overpriced for the service and facilities given; value for money needs serious improvement!

Lovely heritage property”
Great staff
Stayed one night and really cannot fault this property. Staff are great. Pool is superbly clean. Breakfast (Indian) about the best i have had however for me the dinner was less impressive. If you ask the management will unlock the tower for great views from the top. Comments i have are down to personal choice - i subsequently stayed at Chettinadu Mansion....no electronic key-card entry or TV in room. Less restored and 'polished', under half the price and for me a more authentic experience. It really comes down to personal preference the hotel is well run.

Excellent service with clean rooms and cozy bed.”
Friendly service, Cleanliness, ambience and serenity
Peaceful and clean. Very friendly service. The Manager and Housekeeping made sure that our stay way a very pleasant and memorable. Food was OK.... A bit too spicy and lacks varieties. Watch out for the monkeys, don't leave room service trays outside the door at night. Pool was fantastic... felt like an oasis. In general, we had a wonderful and memorable time. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Heritage home”
Huge room and bed with plush pillows, lovely bath. Clean.
Loved the stay here. Wished I had stayed longer though I was there for 2 nights. Chettinaad is an amazing place to visit. Lots of mansions in remote villages. Chidambara villas is beautiful, full of history, and staff are lovely. Swimming pool was heavenly since the weather was hot. Will stay here again, great for honeymooners! Next visit must meet the owner of the villa! On food, I thought I've had better Chettinaad food than at the villa. Best to eat out during the stay here.

Charme exceptionnel. Piscine.

Superbe chambres, piscine fabuleuse, accueil exceptionnel
