Paradise on earth”
Everything about this place was awesome. Staff was super nice and friendly. Facilities were great (i had a bungalow), its not super fancy but it has everything you need. The location is everything, very private, few tourists and lots of great vibes. Its a billion times better than Ao nang or Riley, i definitely recommend this hidden little gem.

Heaven on Earth”
Chil Out and Tonsai Beach is heaven on Earth. The Sims are cool and comforting, the inside food bars, shops and bar area is amazing. I loved this beach , absolute Paradise. Just a shame I received news of a bereavement when I was staying with you, and so I was very sad. But everyone were very kind and everything was beautiful. Thank you

Great place to see and stay. Lots of cool rocks and climbing opportunities all around. Food, coffee, and atmosphere at Chill Out were the best we found in Tonsai. Has easy access to Railay on foot (true for all of Tonsai, I suppose). Lots of monkeys to see. Bungalow was as-expected and adequate, you won't mind the cold-only shower bc it's very warm, but tolerable at night with the fan. Good value for our money, would definitely stay there again.

Place was super awesome, but the bathroom was not the best at all needs lots of improvement. However, the people and the atmosphere was phenomenal and I would recommended, but beware of the bathroom.

Last cheap beach lodging in Thailand ”
Having read other people's reviews before booking this place: if you're afraid of monkeys, bugs, etc you may have a hard time in the tropics. A resort is probably more your speed. If you're traveling on a budget or like things interesting, this place is fun. It gets hot and there's definitely mosquitoes. Since it's slightly inland and in the jungle it's hot and buggy but a great deal, and if you don't mind a bit of a walk you can get to some amazing beaches. Get some mosquito coils and enjoy a beer and the great jungle. We're traveling with a 9 month old and 4 year old and it was a fun little adventure.

Ton Sai Beach is a less crowded beach, and Chill Out was an amazing place to meet people. Electricity only runs from 6pm to 6am and 10am to 1pm, but we dont mind cause you will never run out of what to do in this place. Be it climbing, drinking, eating, watching the coolest fire dancers in the evening, etc. Staff were nice enough to introduce us to Max for climbing, and every morning we get to meet a new group of climbers. Beside the place is Max's climbing store, and a few restaurants. Bar is very chill and they even have books you can borrow. Overall, fun and would love to come back for more adventures!

The rooms may be a little rough around the edges, but what you get out of it is just an awesome experience. The owners are very friendly and the bar is a great place to meet others.

Casual And Easy Vibe”
This has to be the cheapest stay around Ton Sai & Railay Beaches. Great open bar with verandas, restaurants, convenient store, rock climbing service. 5 mins walk to beachfront (lots of rock climbing activities here). Fire shows at night. Meet a lot travellers here! Definitely a social place. Can walk to Railay easily at low tide (10mins) or 15mins through a little hike on high tide. Its an island only accessible by longtail boat, so do expect item price is a bit higher than in Ao Nang. Very helpful Ms Nan at reception. She is super friendly! Meet fellow travellers working temporarily here as well. Wonderful souls all! I will be back for rock climbing!

Great vibe. Chill and I’m touch with nature. If you’re coming from Railey est and you coming with long boat tell them to drop you off to the left of the beach or you have to carry your language for the all beach. Hot and umid. Fan was ok but in our room the one we had just pointed 1 bed. Wi fi/power limited during the day 10:00am to 1:00pm and 6:00pm to 6am (not a problem just good to know!). We had some cockroaches but in a bungalow in the jungle you quite expected them! Overall great experience. I loved Tonsai Beach better then Railey!

Ideal for nature lovers. Surrounded by nature and around 10minutes walking distance from the beach. Mini mart, restaurant and reggae bar. Very friendly staff and a chilled atmosphere. The bungalows are beautiful with a balcony, fan and a mosquito net. Toilet is very old and the roof is open. The only bad point for me is because the bungalows are old there were lots of lizzards coming through the scratches into our room. I'm not a picky person at all and I don't need luxury but I felt really uncomfortable as I love nature but with some comfort. Also they cut the electricity a few hours per day which made the room really hot with the fan not working.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We are in the jungle, so wildlife is to be expected. The bungalows are made from wood and we do maintain the bungalows as and when problems arise. The bathrooms are slightly open at the top, so are open to the elements of jungle life.

The hostel area and bar are beautiful and chill and the staff at the bar is amazing. The bungalows are really simple, there is no hot water and the electricity is limited. There are a lot of little injects everywhere and not once was our bungalow cleaned during our stay. The bathroom is "outside" so it's not too clean either. The other bed had little ants in it and possibly some other injects and my girlfriend had allergies because of the several bites. Would still recommend this place as there are not many places to stay at Tonsai beach.

We are not a big hotel, so no the room is not cleaned during your stay. having said that, if you had asked, we would of done it for you. Or changed you room if you were not happy. The bungalows are open to the elements of jungle life and made from wood, so some bugs are to expected. But of course Ants on the bed is not good, again, had we known at the time, we could of done something to make your stay better. thanks again

If you re lucky and get one of the first bungalows close to the bar you will have a nice experience... but if like us, you get one of the last bungalows you will not be able to sleep the whole night... each night of your stay! The electrical generator is on all night... so noisy you can't have a conversation in the room. Our bungalow was also in a very bad position with a lot of steps "to climb" to get in the room. Just a nightmare! The rest was lovely, food, bar and vibe... but the bungalow was a nightmare... unlucky? We have been travelling for a month now and this is the only bad experience with accommodation we had so far... backpacking in bungalows, hostels and hotels... this was not even the cheapest accommodation we booked! sorry guys... I believe you should not rent those bungalows or move the generator....

Thank you for your review. We are glad you liked the chilled vibe. On Tonsai beach every resort has generators. That we have a mixture of rooms online and for walk in guest. Some rooms are nearer to the generator and some are closer to the bar. I am sorry to hear that you are really unhappy with your room. We could have moved you, if you had spoken to reception.
Loved Chill out bungalows ”
The chill out bungalows are just that. Chilled. Felt so relaxed and happy here in Tonsai. Away from the craziness, it's peaceful and full of really nice genuine people. This is budget accomodation, expect lizards and bugs - you are staying in the jungle!!! But that is what makes it so awesome, waking up to the sounds of cicadas, birds and gibbon calls, stepping out of your bungalow to see mountains and trees and beauty. The beach is t the best in Thailand, but it's quiet. So peaceful. The chill out bar is awesome - they do a fire show every night. There are cats everywhere - which was a massive plus for me. This is a super cool place - you must go there.

This place is amazing, from the nature of the jungle, to the beautiful cliffs and rock faces, the cute gardens where the paths go to the bungalows. The beach is not crowed and was so relaxed. The bungalows are as described. You are in the jungle, so of course you will see bugs.. but also wild monkeys. AMAZING! The electric times didn't bother me, who needs to stay in there bungalow in the day time, when there is so much to see and do. The staff were great and could not have been more helpful. The bar is very chilled and have really cold beer.. just what i wanted at the end of the day. Sat playing games with the bar staff and laughing all night, IT could not have been a better stay. BEST PLACE IN THAILAND

Thank you for your review. Yes Chill out it's all in the name, relaxed reggae vibe, a lot of people come thinking they will stay 1 or 2 days and end up staying with us for weeks at a time. Its a great place to meet fellow travelers and hang out with the staff who live and work at the bar. I'm glad you enjoyed the fire show. The boys who play fire get better and better every year. Always a new show to watch.
