Good value, friendly staff, get what you pay for!”
Staff were really friendly and helpful which made you feel so welcome even when we arrived at 2am. Room was really clean as were the shared bathrooms. Also had a kitchen and fridge with seating area you can use. Only downside our room didn't have a window so got a bit smelly. Fan worked really well so didn't need air con. Good value for money.
Good place near to good amenities”
Please is only near remedies circle , which near also adriatico , party and gimik places. restaurant to bars. near to a super market and accessible to any form of transport like tricycle. staff are friendly and approachable. we had a pleasant stay at the place because it is the center of the places we need to visit and event we need to attend to.
Very quiet, clean & great staff. ”
The aircon room at back is so quiet. Comfy bed with huge room and large bathroom. Staff are very friendly and helpful and kitchen area is great. Sheets and room is cleaned daily if requested and free wifi is amazing! I was overcoming dengue fever from Palawan and totally had chill out stay at chill out! The manager even lent me some kitchen appliance to make papaya leaf juice which healed my dengue. Totally recommend this place, for friendly staff, great kitchen/common area and huge rooms and great wifi and clean.
not so great”
Overall it's a very dirty place.. so many cockroaches in the kitchen and ants were everywhere. The bathroom was horrible too! The lady on nightshift was rude and unhelpful. On a positive, the manager and her daughter were lovely - the place just needs a good clean. Good luck!
Rude staff and lack of privacy”
You don’t want to stay here, there are three flights of steep stairs to climb to ur room, if u have heavy bag don’t expect staff to help, I️ actually stumbled because the stairs are dark and ooorky designed and they looked at me like I’m a fool. There is no soap, shampoo or anything you need for basics, the public shared rooms are dirty and only cleaned once in awhile, the staff lingers outside ur door to listen and watch what ur doing—I’ve really never been in a place like this before. Not a chair to be found in ur room, curtains don’t keep out any light so if u need sleep forget it. Place is seedy, but staff pretended it’s classy place—go figure. You are definitely not chilling out here. Place hard to find, when my friends finally found the place, they asked for ID and wrote down their names—that’s when we learned about the spy cameras, be careful what u do there, there is no privacy!
House of horrors”
They make up policies on the fly, our people coming for training didn’t have ID, and because they looked young, they immediately declared them minors and started to make threats about impropriety—watch the CCTV outside your rooms, there is no privacy there, and simple things are difficult there...such as the charge for the missing phantom towel. Before they started threatening our staff, they tried to impose 350 php “visitation” fee...then declared a policy where no one can visit your room. We asked for a refund, but they declared no refunds because we signed in—we all left early. This has to be one of the disagreeable experiences we have had, and all because they objected without policy to visitors—who didn’t stay, just visited for lunch, for greeting, for visiting. They immediately jumped to conclusions about what’s going on using their CCTV SPY CAMERAS. There is a difference between security and spying! Btw, they don’t mention CCTV.
a great experience”
a place like home, so comfortable, free to cook whatever you want. cr's and shower rooms are clean. I really appreciate all the staff, they're very accommodating especially ate pines, ate veron, ate colon (yung my kambal) and lyndon.
Nice shared area”
Simple room Staff very cool helpfully and friendly. The owner Jean Marc can dispense good informations about trips and things to do (On Manila and around). Nice common area with kitchen and free coffee.
Friendly stuff, perfect located in the middle of the city!”
Friendly stuff which helps you also to organize your trip. Perfect located in the middle of the city, close to shopping center, museums and the Roxy boulevard, the street which is close to the sea! I can only recommend it! Regards from Danilo
Fan room is too hot, had to open the door at night and put the fan near the door, to let in some cool air from the corridor”
Booked the fan room because it`s really good price, but the room is very hot. It`s not easy to get a whole night sleep, had to go to take cold shower 2 times in a night to cool myself or else had to open the door, and put the fan near the door, because the corridor is much cooler, so at least change the air in the room. When complained, they told me to add 20 Euro for an AC room, but with that price you can easily find better deals near the same area of the hotel Pillow is the hardest pillow I ever touched, during my South East Asia Travels, had to sleep without a pillow for the first time in my life Location is brilliant, near the nightlife but you cannot hear the noise from nightlife at night. Walking distance to the Mall, with great restaurants.
Comfortable and fully satisfied”
The location is great since it is near the center of Malate's party district. The receptionist is very accommodating and friendly. The fan room was clean but it can get hot sometime because there are no windows.
Good hotel. Good location. Very friendly staff. But DO NOT take a room without aircon. I did..a small room with no window and just a fan and I didn't sleep all night long:( Besides that..really great place
Nice service, friendly staff and clean”
It was nice to stay there since the staff is very helpful when we were asking about anything (location, food, etc), friendly, clean room and rest room, the location very strategic place can easy to get any transportation, near the food groceries and restaurant...i think it was nice place to stay for budget travelers
I am back again in the Philippines and back in my favorite guesthouse in Manila.Nice clean hostel and helpfull staff.i was here last April 20th with my wife and very happy to be back again. The staff had not forgotton us and are still unchanged and as helpfull as ever. This is a clean well run hostel, well managed by Filipina Or Pine as she is known .I consider this one of the better hostels for any traveller to stay at. With thanks for making our stay so pleasant. Rogan And Mita Lane
The room was very small. Aircond worked well though. Quite close to Manila Bay and Malate so stay here if you only go back to sleep. Close to the night clubs and bars in Malate. So stay here if you want to walking distance to these places.
Value for money: you can't go wrong”
Be realistic, this is a budget hotel. Rooms are of decent size, very clean, powerful A/C (my room had one), very good wifi, nice exotic wooden floors in most rooms I've seen and French owner is a gem for travelling info on Manila. Sure there is a bit of wear and tear, but for the price you pay, I find it very satisfying. I paid for a superior AC room. Located near all activities and nightlife in Malate, I never had any problem sleeping because of noise. Even though some other reviews seem to indicate so, I have never felt not secure in this hotel, but hey, this is personal I presume. Did not try their restaurant downstairs, but two French guys from Paris told me that it could not be beaten for the price. Good helpful staff.
Good staff, Safe and good mood”
The staff are always present to help you. They are really friendly and for the travelers they give really good advice to visit Philippines. It s an excellent place to start and to finish a Philippines roundtrip or even to visit Manila.
My fan room was exactly in front of the reception area. Although we had very large windows, they cannot be opened as it has been blocked by a wall built exactly in front and literally touching the windows so there were no ventilation in the room and it can get very stuffy, humid and warm in the room. Fan was working well although it did not help much to cool the room but for the price it was fine. The bed was not hard and springy so it was fine. The shared toilets were clean but no soaps or shampoos are provided so be ready with your own toiletries. Towels are provided though so that was a relief. Taxis are of abundance in the area even at wee hours of the night so need not worry about public transport.
Cheap, clean and friendly helpful staff”
I only booked the fan rooms which were very simple but everytime clean. Sometimes you have noise from the street or customers in the living room at night. There´s also a dormatory (350 Peso)if you are very short of money. Free Wifi and coffee or tea is included. 24 hour reception and you can buy cold softdrinks or beer and cigarettes or cellphone sim cards and load if you need.
Convenient, economic & centrally located in Malate”
The staffs were very pleasant & accommodating although we arrived by 7am in the morning from the airport. They made me feel welcome & tried to ensure the guest staying at my designated room checked-out on time. They were able to explain their surroundings well & even provided detailed information of how to cover the city via public transport which was certainly useful. Their kind attitude shouldn't go unnoticed & was definitely worth a mention.
