The Center was an important element in the overall plan for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games when it served as the main press center and international broadcasting location. CNCC is ideally located in the heart of the Olympic Green adjacent to the National Stadium (Bird Nest), the National Aquatics Center (Water Cube) and the National Indoor Stadium.
The CNCC complex consists of the Convention Center, CNCC Grand Hotel, InterContinental Hotel and two office buildings. The eight-storey center houses a shopping mall in its two the basement floors. After the Olympics, the CNCC was renovated to become a versatile international conference venue ideal for congresses, meetings, exhibitions, banquets, product launches and corporate dinners.
Within a one-kilometer radius, there are three five-star hotels, seven four-star hotels and more than 10 three-star hotels and apartments, totaling over 5,000 rooms. Dining, shopping and entertainment facilities are easily available nearby.
Sitting in the center of the Olympic commercial circle between Beijing's fourth and fifth ring roads, CNCC is only 30 minutes’ drive to the airport. The subway station connects directly with CNCC's basement, enabling people to quickly reach the city center, airport, Beijing Railway station, CBD, Zhongguancun, as well as such tourist attractions as Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and Summer Palace. Within an hour, visitors at the CNCC can reach both the Great Wall of China and the Ming Tombs.
