Convenient location, nice rooms”

Convenient location, nice rooms

We needed a place to stay overnight arriving from Chianmai by train and leaving the next day by train heading south and the Chinatown Hotel was perfect. The room was quite nice and the service excellent. We had spotted this place earlier on a walk through China Town, so it is also a great place to see this interesting part of the city. Easy access to the train station.

would love to take up the offer of special deals a”

Extremely helpful and caring staff. Is in a great location in China Town which just comes alive at night time.We loved the corner room as it is big with fantastic double glazing which lets you view all the action below without that same busyness annoying you with it's accompanying noise. We have stayed at this hotel before and did not like the breakfast previously. This time we found breakfast to be lovely each day and were impressed with the very obvious improvement from previos times..
We are non smokers and even though there are non smoking signs displayed, the lobby and hallways constantly smell of cigarette smoke. The hotel is dated in decor and is a little rundown. It is clean however and the cleaning staff are very nice.

We like staying at the China Town Hotel. It is in a great location with 7 elevens and other conveniences close by.The staff are so friendly and helpful. In the past we have had transport and money problems with which the staff have had inpromptu 'meetings' to try to help us out as they said they were worried about us. This was so nice because the problems were our own and they could have left us to struggle to solve them ouselves but they went the extra miles and made phonecalls and enquiries on our behalf to help solve the problems. It really is comforting to know that the China Town Hotel staff really embrace the concept of customer service and assistance beyond the minimum required. It is a value for money hotel and we quite happily tell people we stay there and recommend it as a good budget hotel.

I was impressed with China Town Hotel very much”

staff friendy and excellent location

I made a reservation for a single for one night on 20 Ju.’11 and received a very warm welcome with a smiling from the reception and a very energetic porter as well. The room as assigned was considered quite good than I expected. I stayed on the higher floor with the window and got no effect from the smell of the carpet because this item has been released from the room after renovation on lasts year. It’s also very convenient to use the Internet as I can use choose to use WiFi or wired LAN. (You may ask this jwired Lan from the hotel if you don’t have) When I checked out and took the meter taxi to Hualamphont Railway Station, I cannot remember that my bag was forgotten until getting on the train. I then called to check at the hotel but there was no bag as claimed left at the hotel. Luckily, I was informed from the porter that, he can trace my bag as the number to the meter taxi has been noted at the porter log book and my bag was kept until I return to the hotel again on 25 Jul.’11. I was impressed with China Town Hotel very much.

The price is affordable

We booked the hotel after reading reviews from the Agoda website and we are very satisfied with the room. We travelled with many of our friends in CHinatown Hotel. The concierge staff are really friendly and they processed our check-in in no time. Would definitely recommend this to anyone going to Bangkok and this place is so accessible. I love the crowd in CHinatown too!

Most recent of many stays here...”

Location, Excellent staff and service, Location

I've had many stays at Chinatown Hotel now. That in itself speaks for something. The location is perfectly situated in Chinatown, close to the main train station and MRT (subway) access, and comfortable enough rooms with great staff and service from the front desk check-in, to the doormen and cleaning staff. The hotel is old, and in some respects a bit tired, but it's clean and comfortable. And I can't say enough about the staff who take good care of your needs. They've done some recent renovations and spiffed the place up some, and hopefully more to come. It's got a classic old Bangkok feel to it, with modern conveniences and services, in addition to the great location in the heart of Chinatown. The only complaint I have for the past few visits is the wifi, it's a bit touch and go. Not the worst I've seen, but far from the best or fastest. For the fussiest of hotel users, it may not be for you. But if you want the old city Chinatown feel, with clean and comfort at a reasonably good price, Chinatown Hotel has that.

Convenience at yourl door step”

Centrally located in Chinatown, Friendly staff and Accessible to Hualampong Railway station

Our stay was very good. Wanted to visit Chinatown in Bangkok to savour the local Chinese food and we were very satisfied with the location of the hotel which is where the local shopping and dining were i.e. right at your door step :) Went shopping at the distribution centre of Sampeng Market. Was presently surprised at the great numbers of things sold there. After shopping we went back to Chinatown Hotel to unload our buys and off again we went to shop again at Sampeng Market. That is why I said, convenience at you door step :)

Great location”

Location, staff and meals

Chinatown Hotel We selected this hotel because of its proximity to the railway station as we were arriving in Bangkok by train from Hua Hin and leaving again the next morning by train for Chiang Mai . Despite the short “as the crow flies” distance, the road distance to the hotel was over 3 kms and a tuktuk took about 10 mins. Booking in to the hotel was simple but a CASH deposit of 1000 baht was required. The staff were helpful taking us to our room on 5th floor and demonstrated the features of the room. The room was large with a very large bed, the bathroom had a separate shower recess, tea and coffee making facilities, small wardrobe, refrigerator and safe. Unfortunately the safe did not work as describe, apparently due to low battery so we carried our valuables with us. We walked down the block on the same side of the hotel looking for a suitable restaurant but did not find one. On the other side of the street ere several but there were 4 lanes of busy traffic to cross the street so we did not bother and ate in the hotel. We were very happy with the food there and the prices were not high. The breakfast menu was limited but adequate for our requirements. Breakfast starts at 6:30am. We would recommend this hotel for an overnight or longer stop as the area appears to be very interesting

Excellent Chinatown Location”

If you want more than a passing experience of Chinatown, you can't beat the Chinatown Hotel. Reasonable price right where it all happens in Chinatown. Close to all the shopping, restaurants, walking area and incredible street food. Close to several Bangkok attractions as well. Walked out last evening to the start of setting up the evenings street food and vendors. Was fun to watch and the food was excellent.

A choice for travellers”

Clean, Thai Staff which could speak chinese too, Location

Whenever I visit Chinatown, I would stay here. This is because it is at the soi where Yaowarat is located. Opposite the hotel is the famous Shanghai Mansion Hotel. But do you know chinatown hotel is the oldest hotel and the first tallest building in Yaowarat. The hotel is revamped, kept clean, served by friendly staff and also with bellboy always ready to collect your luggage and bags. Desk Staff are absolutely friendly, comes with great help to assist you to your needs. They serve breakfast and lunch, they have a dining area. Next to the hotel is a dim sum store, do patron the dim sum store, the dim sum is good for bucks if you are craving some dim sum in Bangkok Chinatown. Overall, good stay and relaxation if u wanna stay right at the lane of Yaowarat. It is not in the middle of Yaowarat but at the start of Yaowarat. This makes the place quieter and less crowded but also makes it easier whenever you wake up in the morning and straight away you are ready to explore Chinatown Bangkok!

Short Vacation stay for night walk at China town”

I went to Bangkok China town for Night walk and food and decided to stay this hotel, everything great , price is reasonable and when 20.00 pm , we can walk to central of China Town Bangkok and had delicious street food, the room is not so big, but good, morning breakfast had little variety but delicious. the only problem is that this hotel , there is no car parking, so for local traveler like me, we have to find car park by ourselves, or take BTS Train or taxi, not driving here. Car park lot over night here is very very expensive.

Great Location, But Beware of Joiners, Good Staff, Great Restaurant”

The location is excellent, right in the heart of Chinatown. It is an older hotel that is decently clean, but my wife and I had to battle a large cockroach that I eventually successfully drowned in the toilet. Also, in the elevator, there is a sign stating that "joiners" (prostitutes) must show ID before going to their clients' rooms for safety purposes. This can make you feel a bit awkward. They did not come to our room, but, late at night, we did hear one "joiner" screaming "give me money" at the top of her lungs after she was apparently stiffed by her client. I had to call the front desk and ask for security to escort this woman out of the hotel. The client claimed that he did not owe her money. My wife and I were laughing quite a bit at the ruckus. The food in the restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. We would definitely stay there again.
